Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open September 24th, and apps are open October 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.

Two quick points here as well:
1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: TITAN TERRORS
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

In this case, the monster behind you may as well be the monster above you. No, not anything flying overhead, but the freakishly giant nude monsters hellbent on shoving your crunchy body into their mouths and chowing down.

Titans are large humanlike creatures who have superior strength, though more limited intelligence. Much like zombies, they desire only to devour all of the humans in their vicinity and will use any tools at their disposal to do so. Get your steel guitars ready and get pumped, because sie sind das essen und wir sind die jager!!!]

SCENARIO TWO: PAINTBALL ROYALE
[You've got a gun.

Okay, it's not a real gun- it's actually a paintball gun, which seems to knock people unconscious when you hit them. That's a pretty sweet deal! Except, you really want to be the last one standing, and you'll knock out countless people to do it. Every fight feels like life or death, whether you're waiting in the shadows to get the drop on someone or spraying paint all across the open streets in the fain hopes that you might get a tag or two.

Either way, if you lose, you'll find yourself waking up in a party! That's not so bad, right? It's a giant gathering of all the paint-covered losers in the city, with free food and drinks and a distribution of excellent prizes. What did you win? Fight your friends, but not in the dark and trauma-y way, and be the next winner of our Hadriel death (not really) match!

This is a mini version of our Party Royale event this month.]

C O N F U S I O N

SCENARIO THREE: WALK WALK FASHION BABY
[Your trusty leather jacket is gone. So are your worn and torn jeans, all your summer dresses, your boots and high tops and heels. Suddenly, nothing is where you expect it to be, not even that load of clothes that you've left in the laundry for the past few weeks (oops). In the stead of all of your beloved duds, you find some stuff that... might be a little questionable.

Whether you were the lucky recipient of the hand shawl, the face skirt, the suspender sweats or some other wild atrocity, you'll be sure to have some fun trying to maneuver around the city in your weird, cumbersome outfits. At least you don't look as silly as that guy over there in the sea urchin costume!]

Sudden giant weird looking monsters trying to eat him? Must be Wednesday as far as Percy sees it. Though these are decidedly weirder looking than usual for the more human looking sort.

He gets behind cover, sword in hand and a serious expression on his face. "So. Anything to watch out for with these guys?" he asks, barely looking at whomever it is he's sharing cover with.

2-A: Battle

The problem with trying to hit a demigod is that they're incredibly good at dodging, and Percy is rather exceptional at it. He's also rather unsettlingly far too serious as he tracks through the streets hunting down opponents.

Habits picked up from some of the hardest parts of his life are kicking in and they're not something to be taken lightly.

Sneaking up and getting him in an ambush is probably your best bet in taking him out.

2-B: Party!

That was... not okay, as far as Percy is going to count it. Falling in to that 'kill or be killed' mindset quite that suddenly is rough, and so is being snapped out of it just as suddenly.

He is just going to sit down for a bit and get over the whiplash before claiming his prize.

Percy isn't even aware of how utterly ridiculous he looks, he's just glad he can use his hands really, even if he can't see terribly well but he's going to at least try to pretend everything is perfectly normal.

Even if he does happen to trip over things.

Amazing the things you can do when you can literally turn invisible. Kind of makes it hard to hit. Which works out well, because that whole "demigod competitiveness" thing doesn't disappear just because you're not at camp anymore. And. Haven't been. For a few months. The point being, invisibility is great for this.

So it was a while before she turned up at the party, confused for a moment, but eventually shaking her head. Talk about a sudden mood swing...

...but she stopped when she caught sight of the boy in front of her. Was that-- no it, couldn't be, could it? She ws just seeing what she wanted to see. But...what if it was?

"...Percy?"

If anything in the world was going to make Percy perk up it was, in fact, Annabeth. He looks up and just grins.

"Annabeth!" He all but humps to his feet, this place got a whole lot less terrible in his book.

He is definitely real, and coming in for a hug.

She was almost too shocked to do anything but stare and then his arms were around her and it was all actually real. He was really there. Was she certain she wasn't dreaming?

For a moment she just held on to him, tying to convince herself it wasn't another game the gods put together.

"When did you get here?"

"A couple days? I wasn't really focused on keeping track of time, and there was weirdness going on."

He's just glad he's got her here to help, and that paintball is over.

"Speaking of weirdness, this isn't Boston and I'm pretty sure it's not Kansas either. What's going on?"

"Yeah, that's fair." She hadn't really been paying attention either, or else she would have noticed that he'd showed up. But maybe not, either. They hadn't exactly announced new arrivals.

"It's definitely not Kansas. It's a cave that I guess is called Hadriel. Oh and there's more stupid gods around because I guess that's our life now."

"Sounds like a Monday to me. Let me guess, they have a ridiculous task for us made all the harder because nobody shoved them in a get-along shirt as kids?" Percy half smiled.

"We got this, I mean it's probably going to suck but we are kinda uniquely qualified for dealing with God Level Stupidity."

"It's about as terrible as Monday. All the time." It was awful. And it had been for all of the months that she'd been here with Will and Nico. None of them were enjoying it. But then, that was really the point most of the time.

"It does suck. Just trust me on that. But I guess you'll find out eventually. Paintball is actually kind of tame compared to some of the things we've seen happen around here."

"I always trust you, and if you say it sucks than it's pretty bad. I also trust that we'll get through this." He replied, shifting to nudge her gently with his arm.

"Besides, you're here so it's not the worst place ever."

"You sound so optimistic." But at least it was good to know that he trusted her. And also sort of terrifying. More people depending on hr to lead the group of them. Lovely.

She almost wanted to stick her tongue out at him but smiled instead and nudged him back. Two could play that game, Percy.

"No I suppose not. Not anymore, anyway."

Hey, Percy, you should be so grateful you only got weird looking monsters. Will got harpies who fixated on him and he had to be saved. Nothing like getting sucked into a new world and your only weapon is a backpack full of surgical supplies with greek monsters on your back. So, heads up Percy, if the there are any greek monsters here? They can still smell you. As for Will right now, he'd been frequenting the collosseum for new arrivals, in case anyone needed medical attention or a good shot from a bow and arrow. Not everyone came through with weapons.

"Your guess is as good as mine. The monsters change. Never know what we're going to get here. Nice to see you Percy."

And he had riptide. Great. At least someone got kidnapped with actual weaponry and hadn't had to have their bow and arrows handmade by someone. Although, it was a good way to make friends.

"They wont follow us outside the collossum." Not that Will expected the ADHD poster child of the year to not rush in and fight the monsters, especially when there were other people here the monsters could be interested in. It wasn't like back home. This was equal opportunity snacking, mortals allowed.

Hey, it's really hard to actually leave Riptide behind on accident. It tends to show back up in his pocket after a while.

"You know me, if there's monsters trying to eat people I tend to show up." He shrugged, "We need to get everyone out of here, some of them don't look like they know a spear from a broomstick and even I can't take on this many naked giants."

One or two, no problem, but without a body of water nearby he wasn't going to risk anyone else.

There could have been any number of scenarios where Percy lost Riptide. Maybe the gods here didn't like his pen. Maybe he'd lost Riptide, gotten sucked in and before it could reappear in his pocket the Door closed here. Whatever it could have been, Will was thrilled to see it. And Percy, since Riptide came with him.

"Yeah, you're just lucky that way. The Guard is here, they'll be able to help. We're not on our own here." Despite the fact that Will absolutely didn't trust everyone in the Guard, there were some he did. And it didn't take trust to believe that they were capable of hitting monsters.Still he raised his bow, because he was never going in without a weapon, the bag of demigod and mortal medical supplies slung on his shoulder.

He shot an arrow to give Percy some cover and distract the giants.
