Test Drive Meme # 2
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open October 25th, and apps are open November 1st.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: THE LAUGHTER OF A CHILD
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
Watch out as you explore the streets of Hadriel, because you're not alone, and there's always something on the rooftops watching and waiting for the perfect opportunity to separate you from your group and tear you into pieces. This time, the Door has brought in some little friends for you to play with.
Grey Children are enemies in the video game Silent Hill. They usually move in pairs or groups of three, clinging to your legs and pulling you down so that they can laugh as they stab you to death. They're not particularly sturdy, but since they hunt in packs, they can kill you just the same. Let's hope your group is bigger - or that you can get away before they get ahold of you. But don't be too mean. They're just children, after all.]
SCENARIO TWO: FEAR ITSELF
[You turn a corner, and there it is. The one thing that terrifies you more than anything, that turns you into a frightened child, that makes you want to run or scream or fight wildly. It could be anything. That person you trusted, who betrayed you. A monster that haunts your dreams. Spiders, maybe? Whatever it is, it's exactly what you fear the most.
And then there are footsteps next to you, and someone else is there. Maybe they can help you. Maybe they can save you. But everyone's afraid of something, and the moment your savior gets close, their fear will manifest as well - and if you're really unlucky, combine with yours to make something even worse.
It's not real. It can't hurt you. Not unless you let it. But if you let it, it will destroy you.
This is a simpler version of October's Fear Event.]

SCENARIO THREE: THIS IS NOT MY BEAUTIFUL HOUSE
[A moment ago, you were making dinner. Not alone, but with someone you care about nearby - your beautiful spouse, or your amazing child, or your beloved sibling. Then, in an instant, you look at them and you know: this isn't real.
This perfect house, this perfect family, it's not yours. You can remember your real life now, and that person you care for? You might not even know them. A moment ago they were your world, and now you know this isn't actually your life. Your life is something else, somewhere else.
Above the fireplace sits a painting of you and your happy family. You know that if you destroy it, you'll return to your life. But do you really want to, when you've never felt this contentment, this happiness before? You could have it all, if you wanted. And what about your companion? This is a decision you should make together - if you want to.]
miiiind if i tag in on fear one? (nick rivenna; oc)
Where she is, though - that's the real question, followed closely by why is she here, wherever here is. Nick's fingers curl into fists at her sides as she picks up her walking pace a little, glancing over her shoulder every so often as she makes her way down the path. She doesn't take care to deaden her footsteps or avoid brushing into branches, only concerns herself with not getting caught by whatever might be out there. She may have power now, but it's still new to her, and she hasn't completely learned to control it yet.
Then she hears it - a laugh, faint, but definitely a laugh, and it sets the skin at the back of her neck crawling. She veers off the path into the unkempt shrubbery and comes stumbling out with a yelp on the other side, once she finds herself facing another person.]
Not at all! :3
She lowers her hands, though the glow doesn't fade. Nick's appearance distracted her enough that Wanda risks looking away to scan the area around them once more before turning her attention back to the newcomer. She's unfamiliar to Wanda, but then isn't most everyone here?]
Was that you making that noise? The laughter?
[She doubts it, but she has to ask. If it wasn't Nick then it was still something else hidden from view, planning god knows what.]
yay ty <3
Do I look like I'm having a fun time here? Christ.
[So that would be a no. Nick turns, pushing her fingers through her hair in agitation, and paces a few steps away, then turns back, propelled by a flood of adrenaline shooting through her limbs, unconsciously drawn by the glow at Wanda's hands.]
There's something following me, again. I can feel it.

If there is then we will face it together. Can you fight?
[She doesn't know this girl but whatever comes at one of them may very well come at the other. Better that they have each others backs. And, if the girl can't defend herself, better she stay close to Wanda so she can form a protective shield around her if necessary.]

[She gives Wanda the most incredulous look, exhaling sharply through her teeth, wrapping her arms tightly around herself, as if it will somehow protect her from whatever's out there. Or maybe the protection she wants is from the question that's been posed to her.
Nick knows how to fight - barfights, fistfights, sharp words spoken with the intent to wound on the inside. Her against the world - she knows how to fight that kind of fight, because she's done it every day of her life since she was very young. Every day has been a struggle. Every day, she's fought in some way or another.
But fighting something otherworldly is a different story. The last time she'd faced an attacker who wasn't some drunk bar patron or someone she knew closely, Nick had been - not exactly powerless, but paralyzed by the inception of her power. Transformed, but immobile, reliant on being rescued by someone else who happened to be in the right place at the right time. She hasn't had enough time to learn to control her power, yet.
Nick shrugs, throwing up her hands.]
I dunno. I guess maybe we're gonna find out.
[Because the laugh is back, louder and closer than before. Nick takes a deep breath, scanning the brush for signs of movement.]

The fact that they're carrying knives certainly doesn't help matters either. Wanda fills a chill run up her spine. Yes, she has powers, incredible powers that could handle the creatures, but they're still relatively new and don't change her gut reactions. Especially since they're outnumbered three to one. She hesitates, waiting to see what they'll do. Wondering if all they'll do is stand there and menace them--
--and then they advance on the girls and Wanda bursts into action. Raising a hand in their direction, she shoots off a bolt of energy that sizzles through the body of one of the creatures. It makes a choking sound and drops, and the rest take advantage of her focus by moving in to attack.]
Take out any you can, and if you can't, fall back and I'll cover you!

If she were the praying type, Nick would do so now. She's not, though, so all she does is wait for the split second of change, when she feels her skin harden and smooth out into a porcelain shell, feels her body elongate, grow taller, and hollow out inside. Her now-longer hair tumbles down past her waist; her clothes change from a practical ensemble of jeans-boots-shirt to a puffy black dress full of ribbons and layers. Her hinged eyes open again to see the gang of monsters bearing down on her and the other woman, and she opens her mouth and screams.
The sound that comes from her painted mouth - it's an inhuman howling, high-pitched and laced with pain, and it sends each of the oncoming creatures to its knees (or what passes for knees), clutching its head in agony.
Nick barely has time to register what's just happened - what she caused to happen - before she's turning to Wanda and urging her to attack again.]
Hit 'em - now!
