The carta's a crime syndicate headquartered in Dust Town, in Orzammar. Dusters have no good options in life, so they mostly resort to begging and tedious or dangerous shit no one else wants to do. If you want to do more than badly scrape by, you join the carta. So I did whatever my boss told me to do, or my sister and I would be out on the streets.

I got out of that life about a year and a half ago, but it took nearly being executed and then having to kill a lot of carta people to really break ties.
