[ It's been a month since Gansey saw her. During all that time, there hasn't been a single day that he hasn't thought of her - or, more accurately, a night has not passed without him thinking of her. He hadn't realized quite how dependent he had become on their nightly phone calls. He had started to put the phone beside him and wait for it to buzz, knowing that it would only be her.
For his first few days in Hadriel, he'd caught himself doing that, just out of instinct. And of course, the phone never rang at all.
He told himself that was a good thing. That this was a dangerous place, and an anxious place, and it was much better for Blue to be at home. He knew that was true. He was painfully homesick; he wouldn't wish that on anyone else.
But he missed her, so much.
And she was standing in front of him, asking about flowers as if she'd been there all along. She hasn't even properly looked at him. Suddenly activating, Gansey rushes forward to catch her arm. Is it really her? ]
Jane?
[ It is. It has to be, and if it's not, then this is the most cruel trick this place has yet played on him. ]
Christ, I thought you weren't coming. Are you all right?
