If Vanessa knew his guess she would probably be surprised by it. Not because of what it was, or perhaps even that he was right, but just because of how she looked. Maybe later it might amuse her.

His comment draws her attention away from the flower, finally looking at the young man stood in front of her. She wished that she had some information to offer him.

"Neither do I." And for those few seconds as she says those words she sounds entirely unconcerned about that. As Vanessa speaks again there's a little hint of questioning in her tone.

"I arrived in these gardens. It seems their beauty captivated me."
