Why? Who can say, it wasn't my choice to make. I have to admit it's been useful here, though, with how many humans there are. They probably find it an easier form to comprehend than some of the alternatives I've seen in my people.

[She laughs a little as if picturing their reactions, then shrugs.]

Perhaps it was just the multiverse's idea of a joke. But it works. Humans mean well, but they tend to look unkindly on those who are too different from themselves.
