[Whatever was rustling in the back of the shop stops and grants her the reprieve she requires to skirt around the edge of the storefront window and back through the door, outside once again. Perhaps not blessedly, accounting for the nature of this brand-new place and its brand-new horrors, substantially more dreadful than the attack on their boat and whatever happened to the warden before he ran himself straight into the wall.

Dusting plaster from her shoulder she only affords the quiet business a single backward glance of derision before turning to the empty street.

Or rather, the nearly-empty street.

A very tall - handsome, in a rough around the edges sort of way - man stands only a few yards away from her, his hand wrapped around something just barely concealed at his side. The grip suggests a gun and while not unaccustomed to firearms Evelyn has a healthy amount of suspicion about her in this decidedly dangerous environment. She draws herself up, chin lifted, and makes eye contact to challenge his staring.
