mirror," she repeats, deliberately over-enunciating each syllable. "Let me
see it." She needs to know, to understand the enchantments on it, to figure
out how it knows what to show and why it's doing it. It isn't until a solid
few seconds later that she adds in a slightly less irritated tone:
"I won't break it. I just need to know how it works."
