LOVE MEME | THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES

Hadriel 💕 Love 💕 Meme

Please allow us to say thank you for sticking with us for so long and throughout our endgame! This meme is for us all to gush over one another with our love, our farewells, and our favorite memories throughout the game.

Instructions are simple- simply top level with your name and the characters you play/played (and if you want to include a few of your favorite memories in the game, as well as a character epilogue to say what your character will be doing after the endgame, please do so!)

Go around and tag other folks, reminisce, and tell everyone how awesome they are! Players who have left the game at any time can also participate, so please come on back and let us tell you how much we enjoyed having you here!

FROM MANDA
Hey folks!

It feels weird to be saying goodbye to this game. Hadriel has been such a big part of my life for three and a half - wow, almost four? - years now, and I have to admit I'm not sure what I'm going to do without it. It's been a huge source of inspiration and creativity, an immense and sometimes difficult undertaking. There have been ups and downs, but above all, it's been so much fun.

While I had modded games before starting Hadriel, I'd never created one of my own. Building Hadriel from the ground up with Rae is something I'm always going to remember. Coming up with events every month, creating NPCs for people to love and hate, and forming an overarching plot for people to react to was a constant rollercoaster, stressful and exciting and satisfying. I really hope you all had as much fun as we did, because that's the truly rewarding part of running a game: seeing other people enjoy it.

More than anything, I want to say thank you for spending time with us. Whether it was a few months or a few years, I really deeply appreciate everyone who invested a little part of themselves, their time and energy and interest, in our game. I can't tell you how many times Rae or I posted a plot OOC post and sent frantic Discord messages back and forth because we were so delighted about how people were reacting to it. We tried our best to make a game that people could have fun in, and one that people could feel like they were affecting. I hope we succeeded, and even if we didn't, thank you for caring about our game.

I want to especially thank a few people. Kels, who continued making beautiful graphics for us even after she left the game. Alexis, who stepped in to help us with apps and NPCs when we desperately needed it. Grimme, who was kind enough to volunteer to mod the Hadriel Discord. Without them, Rae and I would have been totally overwhelmed. Not long after the game began, we agree that we weren't interested in turning it over to new mods, that when we couldn't mod anymore we would end it even if we hadn't completed the full three arcs we intended. Thanks to the help we got, we were able to go the distance, and I really, truly appreciate it.

All of our players are awesome and this game would be nothing without you. Thank you for making this big chunk of my life so fun, and I wish you luck and even more fun wherever the RP world, or life, takes you from here on. I'm going to miss Hadriel and all of you.

FROM RAE
I can't follow up what Manda said, guys, I'm already tearing up just from reading it!!!

But please let me say from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Hadriel was my first major modding experience, and it was born out of Manda and I conspiring with one another late one night during one of our many discussions about rp in general. We weren't truly serious about it, but it was something fun to talk and DM one another about when I was at work- what would the setting be like? Who would the NPCs be? What kind of rules would we make? Eventually, after another session of excited, frantic brainstorming, I realized: oh god, we're actually going to do this.

I was really scared! I didn't think that I had it in me to bring a game to completion. Enter Manda, who was with me every step of the way. She has been the absolute rock of Hadriel, keeping everything together and encouraging me and reassuring me, even when I was going through some rough times and wasn't around much to push the game forward. I can confidently say that without Manda, the game wouldn't have survived past its second year and I owe so much to her.

And then there's all of you! This sounds weird to say, but I've never really written a story that other people have cared about before. The enthusiasm and excitement that so many of you showed while we were dropping major plot events, or the debates that you had over our moral dilemmas, or the way that all of you just consistently volunteered, showed up, and thought outside the box to bring the plot forward in ways that Manda and I hadn't anticipated... I can't even begin to explain how much that means to me. The players of Hadriel, past and present, have done so much and the game wouldn't exist without you guys! So thank you all- thank you so much for being here, and for playing in Hadriel!

We've come a long way from nervously counting the apps as they came in on October 1st, 2015, from DMing, 'do you think we have enough players?' to one another, from not being able to think of good names for our NPCs(so we just named them the obvious- neither of us are good at naming things at all, see: the Null, see: [Name], see: the game was almost called The Spires until we flipped through some angelic-sounding names in a name generator site). Both Manda and I have learned and grown so much from this game, and I hope that some of you feel the same!

You guys are so amazing and we love all of you. We wish you luck wherever you decide to go, and thank you again for bringing Hadriel to life!

-Rae
