[ The screaming wakes him up. He sucks in a breath as his eyes snap open, sitting up with a loud gasp of air. For a moment he thinks he's back in the elevator, but he realizes quickly it isn't true; he can't hear the gears, is sure he would even over the sound of a girl shouting nearby. It takes a few moments for Thomas' eyes to adjust to the darkness, and he stands up as they do, stumbling a little.

It's obvious that she's not getting anywhere with it, so Thomas busies himself trying to find a crack in the wall or a window or something that might indicate the walls held a secret exit.
