[First, Glacius whips around to look at Emily, snapped out of his intent vigil by the sound of her voice. Then, upon registering what she’s said to him, he spins back around to face the sprig with renewed disgust.] Mistlewhat? You humans put digits in here? [Why?? What is etymology?]

[She holds up her hands when she explains, as if to show there's zero violent intent to modern mistletoe traditions. (Norse mythology be damned. Norse myth is weird.]

You're supposed to give a kiss to whoever you see standing under one.

[Glacius continues making a face that is some mixture of disgruntled and puzzled... up until that last remark fully registers in his mind. And that point the alien's body tenses and his eyes widen, and flicks his gaze to Emily, then to the mistletoe he's standing right underneath, then back to Emily. His gills work a few times, no words coming forth at first... and when he finally does manage them, they refuses to cooperate, flustered stammering the only think bubbling up out of them.] W-well I, I... I have never--I mean, not with a human, that is to say...

[He has no idea what to do, now. Is Emily going to kiss him? If so, what does that mean? For his people, reserved as they are with physical contact, such gestures are usually only granted when two individuals are involved in certain ways... the thought that it could occur so casually isn't really clicking in his head. Moreover, he has no idea what to do if she does--will he be expected to reciprocate? Is there more that's supposed to happen after that? What is the point of this tradition even?? Oh Makers, help him Emily, he's overthinking everything in every which way and he just has no idea what to make of any of this right now.]
