test drive meme #15
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open December 25th, and apps are open January 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: YOU SMELL SOMETHING?
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
Watch out as you explore the streets of Hadriel, because you're not alone, and there's always something lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect chance to knock you out, drag you back to its cave, and hang you upside down for some reason. This time, the Door has brought in a number of Wampas, from the Star Wars movies.
Wampas are large and furry, in order to stay warm and alive on their native ice planet of Hoth. While their white fur helps them blend in at home, it's less helpful in Hadriel - but that's fine! They're giant and terrifying with big claws and teeth, they don't really need camouflage too. They'll be more than happy to hunt you down - and if they don't eat you right there, they could knock you out and take you home for a later meal. If you wake up in a wampa cave, let's hope you remembered your lightsaber.]

SCENARIO TWO: WE'RE ALL PISSED OFF HERE
[For some reason, something's just pissing you off today. It's something weird, too, something that wouldn't normally bother you at all. Maybe it's jackets or buildings with too many windows. Maybe it's animals or the simple act of sleeping. Whatever it is, it's total bullshit and you hate it.
What are you gonna do about it? Smash some windows? Kick a puppy? Or hey, maybe you'll run across someone who hates that thing just as much as you do, and you'll make a new friend! Or a new enemy, if they're wearing that most horrible of wardrobe items, a jacket.
This is a mini version of our Why Do You Have To Be Mad? event this month!]

SCENARIO THREE: THE SPIRIT OF THE SEASON
[Generosity and charity have infected the city! And hey, that's a good thing, right? Hadriel could use a little more kindness. Who knows what's causing it - Delight is probably bored - but whatever it is, maybe it's affected you, too.
If it has, you'll be inspired by the desire to give gifts to your friends, your family, that stranger across the street. Of course, Hadriel doesn't have a lot of gift shops, so... well, maybe you should just give them the shirt off your back? Or hey, smash a shop window and grab that can of beans, they'll love that! You could even steal your friend's favorite jacket and give it to your other friend. How generous of you!
Or maybe you're totally unaffected, and a complete stranger just ran up to you on the street and tried to give you a shirt they ripped off their friend. It's, uh. Not weird. Aren't you gonna say thank you?]

Of course the amputations caused by Obi-Wan hardly help his over-all health.]Then I should be well-established as Emperor.
no subject
There was a pause, this would be awkward but he wasn't going to hide the truth.]
Emperor Palpatine became the ruler of the Galactic Empire.
[Sorry, Vader.]
no subject
For thirty years...? [What caused him to...forget? It isn't as if he feels he owes the man anything.] I had plans of my own.
no subject
We should go somewhere more private to continue this conversation. It may be difficult.
[He was aware he was taking his life into his hands but there was danger in withholding information as well. He paused for a moment, doing the math in his mind.]
I have no doubt that you are not going to like some of what I have to say but just remember if you snap my neck, you won't get the answers you seek.
[It wasn't begging or groveling but a flat observation. He wished he could pull off the same attitude Tarkin was said to have done but he was doing his best, his lips set in a thin, firm line in his best imitation of the grand moff.]
no subject
What would I gain from breaking your neck? [He is genuinely perplexed. Why does everyone think he is about to go ballistic?
Oh wait.] Lead on, General. I will follow...and kill any Wampas on the way.no subject
I appreciate it. [He slipped the safety on his blaster and tucked it back into his coat pocket as he led the way through the city. It wasn't a long walk to the apartment and thankfully Kylo Ren wasn't home.
The apartment was spotless- Hux tolerated nothing less- and spartan as neither really had much in the way of person possessions.]
Sit if you wish, this is going to take some time. [He took off his greatcoat, neatly folding it with precise neatness on the back of a chair before turning back to Vader.]
no subject
In the apartment, he stays standing, pushing back his hood. He can sense...another Force user. Their...presence, at least. Interesting.]
You live with someone else. [Anakin's lips tighten in a thin line.] I will sit when I am ready. Speak.
no subject
[That he has no doubt about. He wouldn't be surprised if Kylo Ren wasn't sprinting across the city by now.]
First, I know Palpatine was Darth Sidious. After his death, I was able to gain access to some of the old Jedi records, as well as his.
[He knew the fact the Emperor was a Sith Lord wasn't common knowledge so it was best to get that out of the way. He remained standing as well, hands clasped behind his back.]
From what I can tell, you're from within a few days of the Emperor establishing the Empire and sweeping the last of the Republic away. What would you like to know first?
no subject
His expression doesn't change.] How did he die? [He doesn't ask out of concern or remorse. His tone is flat as if he is discussing the weather. Palpatine knows his weaknesses and that rankles.]
Do I serve him for all of those thirty years? What do I accomplish?
no subject
[That should have been a clue but he wasn't concerned if Anakin picked up on it.]
No one is quite sure.
It happened during the Battle of Endor between Imperial forces and rebels who sought to re-establish the Republic. Some say you killed him. Others say Luke Skywalker did it. The fight took place on the superweapon the Emperor had built- the Death Star. It was destroyed- some say he was killed in the explosion after you and Luke escaped the destruction.
[He knew the questions Vader would have next but he would let him ask nonetheless.]</small.
no subject
[His...? He wonders. Padmé is carrying their child and that child will survive and have children of their own. He will ensure that is so.]
Luke...? [His voice catches tellingly.] My son?
[Of course. Of course.]
I must have chosen a safer road for him, Padmé and myself. Then when he was old enough, we...
[Eyes brightening, he begins to pace.]
What happened to us after?
no subject
[He wondered how Kylo Ren would react to meeting Vader. This Vader was unlike anything he heard of from Imperial officers but Hux still was wary. He calmly watched Vader, hands still clasped behind his back.]
You died of your injuries on the forest moon of Endor. At least, that is the common story but only you, Luke, and the Emperor really knew what happened. Luke survived but never disclosed the full story to everyone.
[At least for the time being.]
no subject
I want to meet him too. [A grandson. He smiles to himself, pausing in his pacing.]
I shouldn't have left him. [Luke must have been devastated to see him die. Anakin knows how he felt - or so he assumes.] Is he powerful? My son? What of my daughter?
no subject
[He paused when Vader mentioned wanting to meet his grandson, it took all his willpower to not even smile.]
Your grandson idolizes you. [To say the least.] But as Vader.
[He looked thoughtful as he recalled what he heard of Luke and Leia. He had never met either of them personally but he had heard a great deal about them.]
Luke is said to be a powerful Jedi. Leia was a member of the Imperial Senate and now commands a group of rebels.
[His lips thin at the mention of Leia. She was a formidable ally but he had every intention of showing her who was the better general.]
no subject
[Anakin Skywalker is his past - someone only known to those that have been with him for years.]
Luke follows me and Leia follows her mother. [Fitting, but his brow furrows at the word "rebels".] Do you mean my daughter opposes me?
[How can that be? Does Padmé - ? His heart clenches. No, he won't allow that.]
no subject
[He frowned thoughtfully, trying to think back to what he knew of Leia during the Galactic Civil War.] Leia fought against the Empire and yes, you and the Emperor.
The fact that you were her father wasn't known until after your death. She would have kept the truth from everyone if she could have, but it was eventually exposed.
[It had been the senator from Arkanis who had exposed that secret, something he wasn't ashamed of. If Leia Organa wanted to appoint herself the savior of the galaxy once more than the truth had to be known.]
no subject
[Except that will be difficult for him to do in his current delusional state. His non-mechanical hand tightens in a fist.]
She should know better than that. [His lips twist, bitter.] You act as if she was ashamed of me.
[Yeah Leia should be proud of her murderous, half-crazy father! What's wrong with her?]
no subject
[He had no doubt it would end being dramatic, everything in that family tended to end up that way, it seemed.]
I don't know her exact motivations but she fought against the Empire you served. I never met her, however, I can't give you further details on that. You can ask her son, he may have more information.
no subject
Does she oppose you? [There is a note in Hux's voice - a slight deviation - that tells him there might be bad blood between this General and Leia.]
no subject
Yes. I am loyal to the Empire and she wanted to re-establish the corrupt Republic. I couldn't allow that. [There would be no Republic now, he had seen to that.]
