Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open December 25th, and apps are open January 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.

Two quick points here as well:
1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: YOU SMELL SOMETHING?
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

Watch out as you explore the streets of Hadriel, because you're not alone, and there's always something lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect chance to knock you out, drag you back to its cave, and hang you upside down for some reason. This time, the Door has brought in a number of Wampas, from the Star Wars movies.

Wampas are large and furry, in order to stay warm and alive on their native ice planet of Hoth. While their white fur helps them blend in at home, it's less helpful in Hadriel - but that's fine! They're giant and terrifying with big claws and teeth, they don't really need camouflage too. They'll be more than happy to hunt you down - and if they don't eat you right there, they could knock you out and take you home for a later meal. If you wake up in a wampa cave, let's hope you remembered your lightsaber.]

SCENARIO TWO: WE'RE ALL PISSED OFF HERE
[For some reason, something's just pissing you off today. It's something weird, too, something that wouldn't normally bother you at all. Maybe it's jackets or buildings with too many windows. Maybe it's animals or the simple act of sleeping. Whatever it is, it's total bullshit and you hate it.

What are you gonna do about it? Smash some windows? Kick a puppy? Or hey, maybe you'll run across someone who hates that thing just as much as you do, and you'll make a new friend! Or a new enemy, if they're wearing that most horrible of wardrobe items, a jacket.

This is a mini version of our Why Do You Have To Be Mad? event this month!]

D E L I G H T

SCENARIO THREE: THE SPIRIT OF THE SEASON
[Generosity and charity have infected the city! And hey, that's a good thing, right? Hadriel could use a little more kindness. Who knows what's causing it - Delight is probably bored - but whatever it is, maybe it's affected you, too.

If it has, you'll be inspired by the desire to give gifts to your friends, your family, that stranger across the street. Of course, Hadriel doesn't have a lot of gift shops, so... well, maybe you should just give them the shirt off your back? Or hey, smash a shop window and grab that can of beans, they'll love that! You could even steal your friend's favorite jacket and give it to your other friend. How generous of you!

Or maybe you're totally unaffected, and a complete stranger just ran up to you on the street and tried to give you a shirt they ripped off their friend. It's, uh. Not weird. Aren't you gonna say thank you?]

[YAY... wampas...]

[Leia is a fair shot with a blaster and it's unfortunately, all she has at her disposal at the moment. And she has to be decent, the rebellion needs strong and capable people, she refused to just be a pretty symbol.

Whoever she's with, she stays close, refusing to abandon them to protect herself.]

[Gifts are good?]

[Leia doesn't know many people here yet, so she doesn't have many who she would focus on trying to get gifts for. That's what everyone says you're supposed to do this time of year, anyway.

So she's a little confused and uncomfortable when someone rushes up to shove a gift into her hands.]

Thank... you?

[ it's the blaster shots that get ahsoka's attention. sure, there's a curious niggling in the force to go along with the blaring more wampas alarm that seems to be going off in her head on her patrol today, but there aren't many people here who wield blasters.

of course, by the time she gets to leia, on her own at the moment, there's not one but two wampas trying to close in on the princess and, well, this rebel informant is having none of that. ]

Behind you!

[ it's just a bit of warning for formality's sake- an instant later, ahsoka has two bright white lightsabers out to cut the nearest wampa down before it can get anywhere near leia. ]

[Her reflexes are honed enough that being yelled at about something behind her has Leia throwing herself off to the side and into a roll, raising her blaster as she comes to a stop but Ahsoka already has it dealt with. Much to the appreciation of the princess.]

Good one.

[Her eyes flick to the lightsabers and it's hard not to be surprised. She isn't aware of very many Jedi's anymore.]

You're a Jedi?

[ only once the area is safe enough for the moment does ahsoka stop and turn to face leia, flicking her lightsabers off to put them away. she'll be able to sense more danger coming before she needs them again, but for now her attention is only on the woman in front of her. ]

No. But I am with the Rebellion. You're not hurt, are you, Princess?

No?

[That's confusing. A bit. Before now, she knows she'd have heard about Jedi or lightsaber-wielding rebels but nothing comes to mind. The only people she knows are Obi-Wan, dead now, and Luke. Vader as well, technically, but her mind veers away from him.]

I'm alright. Thank you. [She shakes her head.] You have me at a disadvantage, unfortunately.

[He had been focused on trying to get away from the wampa that he hadn't noticed the woman approaching until she was next to him with her blaster aimed at the wampa.

He had to admit that she was a fairly good shot- better than him at least. It was enough to drive the creature back when it realized they weren't going to be easy prey.

Only then did he have a chance to look at his companion. All he could do was stare for a moment then, taking in who he was looking at. Leia Organa was more than a hero of the Rebellion and the New Republic, she was a determined general who made his life more than difficult. She was someone he was looking forward to defeating once and for all.

This...he had not been expecting. He could shoot her, he doubted that she would be expecting that but he lowered his blaster. There was time enough for that later, this would be interesting. He was looking forward to her meeting her wayward son.]

Well, what an unexpected surprise, your highness.

The surprise will be getting out of this alive.

[She's no Jedi and she has no idea who he is. Once she's reassured that it won't come right for them, she grabs the front of his shirt and pulls him down a much smaller alley in the hopes none of the wampas can fit.

Whether she knows him or not, what she knows about wampas is enough that she's not going to leave someone on their own against one of them.]

That could have been an ugly way to go, you know.

[He had thought the creature wouldn't come back but apparently she had better ideas. He's too surprised to resist before she's dragged him down the ally.]

I believe we lost it. It won't come that far into the city. This isn't Hoth.

[He won't feel obligated to her, he refused.]

You can let go of me now.

I don't think a hungry wampa will care whether this is Hoth or not.

[She hadn't encountered any when she'd been on Hoth but she knows about them, knows enough, and very little will dissuade hungry beasts from prey.

She takes a moment but she does let him go then, hooking her blaster to her waist and crossing her arms.]

Are you sure you won't go staring down a wampa while I'm not looking? [In fairness, he hadn't been staring it down, sure. It had been close enough though.]

I'm not an expert on wampas but I don't hear it following us.

[He kept his blaster in his hand but made no move to raise it.]

I believe I can handle myself. [That came out a little more defensive than he had intended, this wasn't how he expected his first encounter with Leia Organa to go.]

That's why I chose a small alley. It won't be able to reach us, not easily. It would give us time to retaliate.

[Leia trusts in her own skills and reflexes to get her weapon quick enough to protect herself. No one can stay armed one-hundred percent of the time.]

So long as you're sure. [She'll let it go. There are any number of people whose heads were plenty thick and would do what they wanted regardless. ~~Han. Luke.~~

What do you have planned, Princess? [He was well aware she hadn't set on the back lines during the Galactic Civil War even when she had been a senator. He was sure she was at least somewhat capable. ]

While I have no doubt you feel as if you need to save the city and run after the wampa, I would recommend against it. I'm sure you'll find there are much more pressing matters here.

[Like one angry son]

[That's an excellent question, actually. What does she have planned? This place is going to take a lot of getting used to and it's not going to be a quick thing.]

At the moment? Survive. Then find allies. I imagine it's much the same for most people right now. [Including him.]

Maybe you'd like to fill me in?

[Son? Who has a son?]

[It was fascinating to see a younger Leia Organa, he was fascinated to see how things would play out especially with Ren.]

What is the last thing you remember before coming here? That would help in terms filling you in. There is quite a gap between our times.

[If she didn't know about Alderaan, he would take pleasure in telling her all about it.]

[She's leery about giving details about just what's going on, the rebellion was born of hope and much of their success thus far has been thanks to luck and secrecy. There are a few things she can share though.]

My friends and I just recently witnessed the death of Jabba the Hutt.

[The monsters, though not clever, have massed in greater number than Maketh cares for. She's used too much ammunition trying to drive them away from the civilians and hardly a dent has been made in their numbers. She's frustrated and tired, and prone to snapping whenever approached.

Thus, when she rounds the corner and sees a stranger with a blaster, her immediate reaction to line up her sights and snap off the safety.]

Don't. Move.

[There are probably better ways to meet someone.]

[It's her instincts that have her react, not freezing but instead turning swiftly and kneeling, pointing her own blaster at the newcomer. Leia's face becomes a hard mask. She'd rather die than just give in to someone playing tough.]

If you shoot me, it had better kill me. [The underlying threat is unmistakable. Leia will make sure missed shots are regretted.]

[Rebel, Maketh thinks. She recognizes the attitude. It's become familiar by now.

She doesn't lower the rifle.]

I wouldn't miss at this range.

[Just a fact. Maketh narrows her eyes.]

The city is back that way. We're reestablishing the perimeter now. Go.

Neither would I. [her trigger finger is twitchy enough that she knows she could get a shot off quick enough before she's hit.]

If I was worried about getting back to the city, I'd have already gone back. I want those things as far from people as possible. I've seen someone come back from a wampa encounter, he spent enough time in bacta after that. And we lack that luxury here.

[Maketh narrows her eyes a moment, thinking.

Abruptly, she shoulders the rifle. A decision has been made.]

Fine. Then you'll help me take the perimeter back.

[It's apparent the woman is capable. And if she's going to help, then it's going to be done properly.]

[Leia... doesn't like being ordered around. And she's already done enough, for the Rebellion and here with disabling (maybe killing, she hasn't heard it so far) a wampa.]

I'll help. [She's agreeing to help rather than letting it seem like she takes orders.]

[Stubborn woman. Maketh gives her a warning look.] You'll follow my lead or I'll escort you back myself. I know the terrain and you do not. My guardsmen don't need additional problems to deal with, is that understood?

[That looks just makes Leia straighten more, if that's even possible. She's very stubborn. This is the woman who took over her own rescue.] I don't take orders.

[Except occasionally from Mon Mothma and mostly out of respect for the older woman.] In case you failed to notice, I've handled myself just fine so far without having my hand held by someone who thinks she can order me around.

If you are injured or killed, it will cause trouble for my guardsmen. [Maketh says it ever so softly, eyes narrowed tight. There are rules that must be followed.] If you wish to be foolish, I will not stop you, but you will not do it within my sight. Is that understood?
