test drive meme #15
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open December 25th, and apps are open January 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: YOU SMELL SOMETHING?
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
Watch out as you explore the streets of Hadriel, because you're not alone, and there's always something lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect chance to knock you out, drag you back to its cave, and hang you upside down for some reason. This time, the Door has brought in a number of Wampas, from the Star Wars movies.
Wampas are large and furry, in order to stay warm and alive on their native ice planet of Hoth. While their white fur helps them blend in at home, it's less helpful in Hadriel - but that's fine! They're giant and terrifying with big claws and teeth, they don't really need camouflage too. They'll be more than happy to hunt you down - and if they don't eat you right there, they could knock you out and take you home for a later meal. If you wake up in a wampa cave, let's hope you remembered your lightsaber.]

SCENARIO TWO: WE'RE ALL PISSED OFF HERE
[For some reason, something's just pissing you off today. It's something weird, too, something that wouldn't normally bother you at all. Maybe it's jackets or buildings with too many windows. Maybe it's animals or the simple act of sleeping. Whatever it is, it's total bullshit and you hate it.
What are you gonna do about it? Smash some windows? Kick a puppy? Or hey, maybe you'll run across someone who hates that thing just as much as you do, and you'll make a new friend! Or a new enemy, if they're wearing that most horrible of wardrobe items, a jacket.
This is a mini version of our Why Do You Have To Be Mad? event this month!]

SCENARIO THREE: THE SPIRIT OF THE SEASON
[Generosity and charity have infected the city! And hey, that's a good thing, right? Hadriel could use a little more kindness. Who knows what's causing it - Delight is probably bored - but whatever it is, maybe it's affected you, too.
If it has, you'll be inspired by the desire to give gifts to your friends, your family, that stranger across the street. Of course, Hadriel doesn't have a lot of gift shops, so... well, maybe you should just give them the shirt off your back? Or hey, smash a shop window and grab that can of beans, they'll love that! You could even steal your friend's favorite jacket and give it to your other friend. How generous of you!
Or maybe you're totally unaffected, and a complete stranger just ran up to you on the street and tried to give you a shirt they ripped off their friend. It's, uh. Not weird. Aren't you gonna say thank you?]

Yis he has had plenty of practice wrangling Stephen here after all XD
Oh yes. My cloak is magical you see, and can, if we ask it, carry us wherever we'd like to go in this place.
[At the mention, the cloak unclasped from around his shoulders, slipping easily between them to spread out, floating contently at knee-height for Eleven. If she were to press, she'd feel the fabric give slightly, but it remained fairly sturdy, like pressing a hand down onto a cushion or a la-z-boy.]
Whatever you would like to do.
He'd even make her feel a bit more confident about her shaved head ^u^ Bald and bad ass~
Magic cloak? ...
[ Eleven did indeed reach out and touch the cloak where it floated. She was fascinated by it. Part of her assumed he was moving it with his mind, just like she could, but once she actually felt it with her own fingertips, it almost felt alive. She smiled, looked up at him with a sparkle in her eyes, then back at the cloak. ]
Mike's basement.
[ Spoken with a joy in her tone, a clear answer, it was the only place she truly felt safe. ]
Yes, cute tiny badass come be awesome with Wong
[The cloak? Slipped a corner of itself up, patting her wrist with gold brocade trim by way of greeting, even as Stephen carefully settled onto it, which it bore easily. Once he was set, he offered a hand, gnarled and scarred though it was, to help her climb aboard as well.]
Mike's basement? You'll have to tell me where it is, but I don't see why not. [Assuming that she lived in this realm, that this 'Mike' and his home were somewhere in this place.]
What do I call you, by the way?
/holds out actual adoption papers. This needs to happen!
[ She repeated those words a few more times, in a smaller voice, almost a whisper, nodding head as she did so. The boys would love this, she can't want to tell them all about it! It was just like something Dustin would get all over excited about, she felt sad that they weren't here to witness it with her.
As his hand was offered, it broke Eleven from her thoughts. She took it without a second beat, even his weathered looking hand didn't put her off holding it. Slipping her smaller one into his as easing herself up to be beside him. ]
I ... I don't know... Away from here.
[ Shaking her head when she spoke. She didn't actually know where Mike lived, she'd never asked the name of his road or even the town they lived in. It wasn't here, that was for sure, but Eleven even sure where here was.
She rolled up the sleeve of her dress a little, exposing a tattoo on her forearm that read: 011. Looking back up at him as she gave her 'name' ]
El- ... Eleven.
UGH I WANT IT clearly they need to be in a game together so cuteness can occur
Well, we can fly for quite awhile like this. If you see something that looks familiar you can let me know. If it's not in this place, then I'll figure out some way to get you back to your friend Mike's house.
[Well, that tattoo wasn't something he'd been expecting, though it in a horrible way explained a bit of her behavior. He tried not to let the displeasure at whoever had marked her so show, instead nodding in understanding.]
It's a pleasure to meet you Eleven. I'm Doctor Strange, though if you'd rather, you can call me Stephen. [Tattoos like that meant scientists and 'doctors' and cruelty in his experience, and he would not push the concept on her. If she was more comfortable calling him by his first name, then he didn't mind it.]
/Crawls out from the Upside Down to be with you~
It didn't take her long to settle in by his side, she already felt safe, his voice was kind, his actions too. ]
Hawking? I think...
[ She was talking about the place Mike's basement would be in. Recalling seeing a sign when they had escorted her to the school. Hawkins, or Hawking? it wasn't a very clear memory.
Eleven smiled as he introduced himself, giving a small nod and looking him up and down for a long moment. ]
Friend... I'll call you friend.
Yesss come on fun adventures smol cuteness
I can't say that Hawking is familiar to me, sorry to say. But surely someone will know of it if we ask around hm?
[It made sense to him, if he wasn't familiar with the area? Find someone who was, even if he had to summon a wind spirit or something of the like to guide them.
Though his pondering of where 'Mike's basement' might be were derailed by Eleven's announcement, Stephen unable to help a small chuckle, smile warming a bit as he considered her in kind.]
Friends then. I rather like the sound of that.

No way out?
[ Her question was asked as she continued to look around, she didn't see anyone to ask either, so her curiosity grew more and more with every second that they traveled.
Smiling, coy and small as he shared his happiness at being called a friend. It made her happy. Eleven, still smiling, felt down and gave the cloak a few gentle strokes as one would do to a pet. ]
Friends.
no subject
We'll figure something out, one way or the other.
[Either they'd find a settlement, they'd find a way out, or Stephen would simply open a way.
At the gentle touches the cloak shifted a bit, a brocade corner coming over to pat Eleven's hand in turn, reciprocating the idea even if the cloak was unable to verbalize it.]
no subject
[ She asked with a childlike curiosity to her question. The boys had never taken her anywhere like this. However, Papa used to make her go places that seemed to be nothing more than darkness and empty when he'd have her performing tasks.
That was it! Maybe they were in someone else's mind?! That or... No, no Eleven dreaded the idea that they were inside the Upside down. ]
What about... Here? In here?
[ Tapping her temple and giving her new friend a concerned look. She didn't quite know how to express what she was trying to ask and it frustrated her a little bit.
The cloak was nice, Eleven felt a kinship with it. She understood that it couldn't talk, heck, she'd not been all that much better with words herself. But around Stephen, she felt comfortable and at ease. ]
no subject
[He paused when he heard her question, spying the motion with a small furrow of his brow. In here.]
It's... possible that this is inside someone's mind, but it is a slim chance. It feels nothing like any dreamscape I've ever been in either. [Luckily for her, Stephen has had some experience in communicating with others who either couldn't speak well, or at all.] If we don't find any signs of civilization soon I'll do a scrying and see if we're anywhere I've been before.
