Test Drive Meme #18
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open March 25th, and apps are open April 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: THE 'P' IS SILENT
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
The only warning you get is the flapping of wings above you- leathery and noisy, not unlike a herd of bats, before you are descended upon by a creature with a long, sharp beak, beady eyes, and an appetite for blood. Unfortunately, you've come across a pterobuzzard from Stephen King's The Mist.
Despite the difficult to pronounce name, a pterobuzzards' job here is actually quite simple: to eat. With their large bodies, sharp claws, and savage beak, they can rip chunks of flesh from your body and feast on various entrails after you bleed to death. So that's... fun. Maybe you should run inside, where you could totally be safe, until you realize that one of them has the strength to shatter through a window.
Underground bunker, maybe?]

SCENARIO TWO: VERY VERY EXTRAORDINARY
[Something is different about today. From the time you wake up, to the moment you look in the mirror, to the minute you greet your usually-annoying neighbor who you sort of hate. That difference is... love? Surely not- your cold, dead heart has been... well, cold and dead for an eternity!
And yet, you find yourself forgiving your own past mistakes, overcoming the obstacles that stand in the way between you and your acceptance of yourself and just... letting it be. You're a pretty cool person, you know, and you should appreciate yourself a little more! During this event, you're damn well going to, with some self love and acceptance.
Everyone else is on your Nice list as well, though- maybe you have a friend that you've been crushing on? That's dialed up to eleven, now. Or hey, that stranger has some cute shoes and you love them so much it hurts. All's fair in love and... love.
This is a mini-version of the beginning of our upcoming All you need is love event!]

SCENARIO THREE: CLASS IS IN SESSION
[Breathe in, breathe out.
It's a pretty simple concept, but now that you're supposed to be focusing on your breathing, it seems like the most complicated thing in the world. How does breathing help with concentration? Are you breathing the right way? What are you supposed to be thinking about? Do these yoga pants make your butt look cute?
There's too many things to think about and clearing your mind is hard, but the good news is that you're not the only one in Tranquility's yoga class who's having troubles. There's familiar squirming and fidgeting from the people around you who are probably lack just as much chill as you and are having difficulty finding their center.
Whatever that means.
Maybe the person next to you looks just as lost as you are, or maybe their side crane pose is really on point and you want to ask for tips. Either way, whispering is allowed as you contort yourself into human pretzels, so chatter away!]

[All Ignis wants to do is frown at how quick Prompto gets back on edge. He was one to worry, but... not this much. Never this much.
He threads his fingers through Prompto's and gives a tight, reassuring squeeze.] I'm not going anywhere, and I'm certainly not letting you out of my... [ha, ha, sights.] ... Why don't you tell me about the pictures you've taken here?
no subject
[which is why he persists, bracing himself for the onslaught of unrepentant emotion, and continues leading ignis to the house]
I haven't taken many! ...I got some from the orchard, and when I went cave exploring for a bit. Just, buildings, also.
[he seems to be doing better when he's talking about things he likes, such as photography]
I'll hafta describe where our house is at. It's this weird spire-like thing, you know? Nothing elegant like back home.
no subject
[Is he kidding? Maybe. Mostly. One out of the four of them snores and he would have the "pleasure" of making them get up and out.
He won't focus too much on home, though. One, to keep Prompto in a better mood. Two... well, he's still a big of a nerd as ever.]
Are they made of stone? Are we in some sort of ruins, perhaps...?
no subject
Hmm. Kind of. It's a strange looking city, kinda with a lot of open space, if y'ask me.
[turning his head to look up at the other, prompto wonders]
...what's the last thing you remember, before coming here?
no subject
His fingers twitch at the question, and his less injured eye shut briefly at the question Answering it was more difficult than he thought.]
You'd fallen off the train. Noct was under a reasonable amount of stress with you gone. We pushed forward on another train hoping to find you, and things got... terribly cold. I believe his Highness was going through another trial-- I can't remember past falling unconscious.
Personally, I think I preferred the Titan the most. At least you knew when rocks were going to fly at you, right?
no subject
[still, he can't help but wonder about that. he did survive that, right?]
[(the thought of asking ardyn makes him sick)]
So, you reached Shiva after all... Ah, there's a ramp here, look out.
[carefully, prompto helps ignis down the ramp, opting to also offer his hand over the older's forearm as support]
--either way, I'm glad you're here, Iggy. [and since prompto isn't one to hold back on embarrassing bursts of emotion] I missed you. I'm sure Gladio did, too.
no subject
His smile comes harder, now. His smile has looks like it’s hard for him to be doing it at all, but his voice is steady when he accepts the hand on his arm.] I missed you more than you care to know, Prompto. I'm glad you're both safe.
no subject
[this doesn't last very long though, as he becomes--typically--overwhelmed, and without much of a warning throws himself to hug the older man.]
Iggy!
[he's not crying (he kinda is)]
no subject
So Prompto throws himself at him rather suddenly for a blind man, but Ignis does not place his arms around him any slower than he normally would. If anything, he was faster. Perhaps he was in need of the embrace more than he would care to let on.
His fingers clench into the back of Prompto's sweater. He couldn't keep him in his sights, but he would be damned if he lost him again.]
You're safe now, Prompto. I am not going anywhere, and neither are you.
no subject
[prompto, on the one hand, wants to be strong and reliable enough to help ignis get used to this place--firmly believing that the man can handle himself after some time to acclimate. on the other hand... prompto has been needing his support more than what he'd like to let on.]
[you're safe now has him nodding against the older man's shoulder, committing the statement as a promise. even with ardyn pulling strings on prompto in violent ways, prompto's willing to believe what ignis says.]
I know.
[ignis never breaks his promises--for as long as prompto's known him. he draws back from the hug, abashed.]
...sorry for springing that up on you. [it's easy to forget ignis has trouble seeing, now, if at all] I'll give you a warning next time.
[as if]
no subject
I'll... I'll look out for you too.
[a big claim to make, but prompto is nothing if not earnest]
no subject
It means more to him than Prompto knows. Ignis has plenty, plenty to say, but he refrains from putting Prompto in an awkward position to hear it in the middle of an unknown city, when he already feels there was discomfort over... something. He places those feelings to the side, swallowing a potential lump in his throat and squeezing Prompto's shoulder reassuringly.]
I daresay you'll have to... at least, for a little while. [He musters a laugh, releasing his shoulder to grasp his hand again.] Let's get home, shall we?
