Well... [Glacius pauses, then shrugs a little helplessly, shaking his head as he does so.] I'd have to find someone else that I connect with like I have with you. And in all my years walking this world, being tossed between universes, I haven't yet met another individual that can compare. So...

[Glacius looks away, letting out a sound that's half-whine, half-growl as he doe so.] Do you delight in reminding me? Look, we-- we don't know that yet. We might find a way to counteract your curse, to stave it off...

[Carlisle, while afraid of it, accepted its inevitability long ago. He just forgets he now has someone who will miss him when he's gone.]

Even if we did, you come from a long-lived race, and I don't. It's... not exactly a happy conclusion, but one I've considered quite a bit ever since our, ah. This coupling became official.

I will take any time that we can make for you. That being said--why dwell on this? Why can we not simply focus on... on enjoying the time that we do have together?

I have trouble enjoying what time we have knowing you will be alone when I am gone. It was one reason I thought your heart would be better suited with someone else.

... Well, I may not like having a sore wound prodded, but I am glad you can talk to me about this, then. That being said, my hearts would be worse off if they were never allowed to be entrusted to you at all; please do not see what you have given me in this partnership as anything but a gift.
