Two quick points here as well:
1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

SCENARIO ONE: WHAT A FUNGI
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

There you are, walking along, minding your own business, when you come upon a strange... something buried in the ground. No sooner have you noticed it then it pops out, ready to attack. This time, the Door has brought in some Mushbooms, from the Secret of Mana video game.

Mushbooms are large mushroom-shaped creatures that seem to be quite upset that you've infringed upon their territory - though who knew it was their territory to begin with? They attack unpredictably, dancing around before lashing out, and if you're not careful they might just hit you with sleeping powder. But who doesn't need a little nap sometimes?]

SCENARIO TWO: SHALL WE DANCE?
[You received your invitation - now it's time to attend. Yes, it's the night of Sorrow's masquerade, and surely you're coming prepared. You've found an outfit in the shops, and maybe even a matching mask. You've learned the steps to a dance or two, or maybe you're counting on your partner teaching you.

What will you do, now that you're at the masquerade? Will you enjoy the delicate refreshments on the tables to the side, stuffing your face to avoid making eye contact? Will you make like a wallflower and watch people dance, hoping to be asked yourself? Or maybe you're the brave type, and you'll walk right up to a lovely person and ask them out on the floor. Whatever you do, the night is young - there'll be time for plenty more.

This is a mini version of the last day of our Seven Days of Hadriel event this month!]

C O N F U S I O N

SCENARIO THREE: NEW PHONE WHO DIS
[So you called your friend - you're sure you did. You opened up your phone, hit their name in your contacts list, and started chatting. Maybe you have something important to say, maybe you just wanted to shoot the shit. Only - somehow, it's not your friend. It might be a different friend, a perfect stranger, or even someone you hate. Let's hope they speak up before you say something too embarrassing, right?

Or you might be the one getting the call. You answered the phone, and someone started talking as if they knew you - as if you're a close personal friend of theirs. But who the hell is this, anyway? What are you going to do, speak up or let them keep rambling on about their latest fight with their best friend? You might even recognize their voice - wait, did they just call you sweetie? Oh shit, they definitely think they called their boyfriend. Wow, this is awkward.

The longer you wait to speak up the weirder it'll be. Unless, of course, you have no sense of shame at all and are happy to let them make a fool of themselves.]

[Yukari's eyes go wide and he almost (almost) yelps as he gets pulled into the dance. Just where did this guy come from? He hadn't even seen him. Yukari glances around the room, wondering where Curufin is in this moment of upheaval. And while Yukari is getting pulled into a few dance moves, he's contemplating just how bad of a fit he should throw, since his lover is nowhere in sight.

He is rather surprised, however, when he looks up at his abductor and sees that it is another Elf. He runs over the statistics in his mind. By being with Curufin, he knew of Celebrimbor, and that there was an uncle here whose name he either did not recall or never came up.

Well, Elves are centuries, even millennia, old. Perhaps this is said uncle. With a reluctant sigh, Yukari finally steps into proper stride with the dance moves, following Legolas' lead. He certainly hopes this guy is harmless as far as the law of attraction goes. Just because Yukari is pretty doesn't mean he wants people flirting with him.

With each step, Yukari throws in flair. If he's going to dance, he might as well do it properly. And when he speaks, he does so flawlessly.]

Elf-chan, do you have family here, or are you a new Elf?

[Luckily for Yukari, it seems Legolas is just out to have fun. He's all smiles and even laughs when he finally starts following along, even adding to the dance. His own hair billows around him in a twirl, even his braids are loose tonight.

And when Yukari speaks up, he can't help but tease him a little.]

Ah! He can speak! I had feared I'd grabbed a mute! [He's still smiling but then gives a quick shake of the head.] I am new and I have no family here. At least, none who have come in search of me.

[He's light on his feet, almost floating, and not wanting to be outdone.]

[Yukari scoffs a chuckle at Legolas' teasing, offering a jab back.]

Ah, but whose breath would not be stolen away when a stranger suddenly pulls them into step? I thought I was being kidnapped by a ruffian and that wouldn't do.

Ah, but you are rather skilled. I shall admit that I am rather impressed. Where did you acquire such dancing ability?

[He hasn't seen Curufin's skills in dancing yet, either. So, Legolas is the first Elf he's gotten to witness in such an event. But, Legolas' energy is contagious and Yukari is undoubtedly doing his best to keep pace with it. For Yukari, this feels similar to combat, and it is just as easy for him to keep up his graceful movements regardless. Although, he certainly isn't floating like Legolas is.]

How do you find Hadriel to your liking, Elf-chan?

Ruffian! [He pouts, almost convincingly, but continues to dance.] I hope I am at least a dashing ruffian or my feelings might be hurt.

[They won't be, don't believe him. Too bad none of his friends are present to pass along that nugget of information though. It means he can continue to troll for some time.]

I grew up in Mirkwood, my people never wasted an opportunity to celebrate. I learned from them.

[Whenever his father deemed the forest safe enough to let his Greenleaf out. Or when he was older and his team would clear out spiders and other beasts to allow such celebrations.]

It is... strange. I have never seen anything like it before. And you are welcome to call me Legolas. 'Tis my name.

[Yukari chuckles at Legolas' reaction.]

Sorry, but dashing ruffian is already taken. And he's rather proud of it. You'll just have to suffer your hurt feelings.

[Sorry, Legolas, but even if you should be genuinely hurt, Yukari's more apt to troll than suffer for it. If you're going to troll him, there's only one way to do it - the romance department. From flirting to xxx discussions, these are guaranteed to get a reaction.]

Ah, then you certainly must enjoy your celebrations. I'm envious. What were some of your more significant parties?

Very well, Legolas-chan. My name is Yukari Mishakuji. I do hope you will find yourself comfortable here.

[After all, Yukari wants to destroy the Door so that he doesn't have to worry about being separated from his beloved.]

[He just gives a little sniff.]

The world is not so small that there can be only one.

[He'll live. He's spent about a year snarking and competing with a dwarf. Yukari has nothing on Gimli.]

That is a hard question to answer, we celebrated whenever we could. My home is covered by the shadow of Sauron, so many poisoned and cursed creatures plague it. The kings guard clears it often. I hope to free it when I return so we can have proper celebrations.

[He takes a step back to smile and bow from the waist.] A pleasure, Yukari Mishakuji.

Ah, but I am only loyal to one. [Yukari smirks.] I am not so inclined to be interested in more than one. So, there is only him that I would call a dashing ruffian.

[Yukari listens to the story rather intently.]

Well, you may have a rather long wait ahead. These caves do not release their captives so easily. You certainly wouldn't be the first to seek a path that leads home, nor the first to fail.

[Ah, Yukari turns and gives a graceful, flambouyant bow.] Consider the pleasure mine.

And so you may continue to be for you are not fire-haired as is my preference. And far too tall. [If he weren't trying to be a good representative of Mirkwood, he'd stick his tongue out.]

Perhaps but long to me is very different from what it means to others. And I will make it back, so long as my people are in need.

[Legolas counts himself lucky and beams.] How fortunate for me to meet so bright a spirit so soon.

Yes, yes, you Elves live for millennia, even eternity if unchecked, if I'm not mistaken. Curufin has told me as much.

[Yukari actually almost cringes, despite his smirk. The thought of Curufin far outliving himself, and taking additional lovers along the way, is a thought he isn't pleased with in the slightest.]

Well, then. I suppose that would make us enemies in this endeavour. You see, I have no intention of leaving.

[He won't mention that Curufin is also working toward this mutual goal with him. Anyone's quarrel with Yukari should stay with Yukari.

And with the bright spirit comment, Yukari gives an airy chuckle.]

You are certainly interesting yourself, to say the least. Perhaps you will humour me in battle in the near future? I'm certain it would be a delight.

[He tries very hard not to react to the name but his father had told him stories of Doriath when he was young, and of it's fall at the hands of Feanor's sons.]

Our lives are bound to Arda, so long as the world continues on, so shall we.

[He frowns a bit. How can anyone wish to remain where they were stolen away to.]

I may, though the question is if it would be fair. I serve as part of the Elvenking's Guard.

Arda? Ah, so you and Curufin are from the same world. And yet, such different aspirations than those already here. Although, I suppose that would be expected.

[Seeing that frown, Yukari knows. It's a perplexity of Yukari's desire to stay here.]

I won't bore you with details. But there is a beauty I found here that I had never experienced before my arrival. And, if I were sent home, I would be separated from that beauty. And I simply won't allow that to happen.

[That last line can almost be deemed a challenge in it's tone. The promise to bring down anything that stands in his way.]

Is fair truly something to consider? Fairness certainly means nothing. It is the beauty of battle that is important. Whomever's favour it tilts in is not of my concern. However, if it will incline you from your benevolent ways, then consider that I have served two Kings without failure. I am highly skilled in my own right.
