test drive meme #21
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open June 24th, and apps are open July 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: A LITTLE FRENZIED
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
Do you hear something weird? Some kind of strange, constant humming? Hopefully by now you know enough to know that it's probably not nothing, and maybe you should run. If you don't, well- the Door has brought in some Winter Lanterns, from the Bloodborne video game.
Winter Lanterns are rather hideous creatures that hum constantly and glow orange when they detect someone's presence. They can grab you with their tentacles and take a nice bite out of you, which is super fun, or they can mess you up just by looking at you too long. Yep, hanging out in the gaze of a Winter Lantern for too long will end with you being afflicted by Frenzy - blood shooting out all over the place. Not great for the health, really, so maybe don't get into a staring contest. Maybe just run.]

SCENARIO TWO: HAUNTED
[You thought you might never see them again, but now they're here. That person you loved - that person you miss terribly. Except that you seem to be the only person who can see them, and you also seem to be getting steadily weaker.
So that's what it comes down to, then. This ghost that's haunting you will take your life so it can live, even if it doesn't mean to. Do you have the ability to stop them? You'll have to kill them to do it, and you love them so much. Now's the time to make your choice - but be careful. They're strong enough to be visible now, and one of your friends or even a passing stranger might have something to say about your decision.
This is a mini version of our Ghosts That You Know event this month!]

SCENARIO THREE: SLEEPING SICKNESS
[For some reason you can't quite put your finger on, you're tired. Like really tired. Like slurring your words, stumbling over your own feet, nodding off if you stop for a second tired. You can't seem to get enough rest no matter what you try - because it's always a light sleep. The slightest sound or movement will wake you up, leaving you just as tired and irritable as before.
What are you going to do? Try to find a quiet place to nap? Good luck. It seems like a lot of other people have the same idea as you - it might be hard to find a truly empty place. Or maybe you just can't take it anymore, and you're going to lay down and take a nap right in the middle of the street. Or maybe you actually feel fine, but everyone around you is falling asleep - and they glare at you when you make the slightest sound.
Maybe you should wake them up? Sleeping in the middle of the street isn't exactly safe. But then, maybe you just want to join them and argue over who gets the most comfortable bit of road.]

Good job, Nue. Now!
[That last comment is directed at Joker, with Raidou hoping that he summons his demon-question-mark out again to help take this thing out while it's down. Raidou opts to jump up and come down on the creature's head with his sword pointed down. This was going to get messy.]

( as arsene makes the scene again. this time with a simple point, the gentleman thief obliges his caller with a brave blade as the sharp strikes lash out towards the target, landing on their mark.
it had to be down now, right? ...right?
not missing a beat, and getting ready for an all-out attack, joker rushed forward for the follow-up, gun pointed at the lantern with cold, calculated intent to kill.
there would be no negotiating out of this one. something was very, very wrong with this shadow, and that wasn't just in regards to how unsettling it looked. well, maybe there was something to it's look but...
blam, blam, blam rings the sound of gunfire, as arsene disappears leaving joker to do his thing. )
Is that it?
no subject
Think so.
[Nue made sure by standing on the thing's chest, as Raidou approached him. The demon had taken some damage, but Raidou's pockets were empty of medicine. He gave the Nue a respectful, caring pat on his shoulder.]
Good work. Return for now, okay?
[He removed one of the small silver tubes from the bandoleer on his chest. When he popped it open, there was a green flash of light, and Nue was gone. He turned to Joker next. Raidou was in a little worse shape than he was, but he seemed to be ignoring it for now.]
Are you alright?

once that show was over, he took a moment to brush himself off, glancing once more down at the lantern, and back to raidou, cocking a small grin. ) I should be asking you that, I think. That was some performance.
( reaching into his coat, he came out with a Recov-R: 100mg tablet, courtesy of the takemi medical clinic. ) Here— ( he held it out. ) It's not much, but it should help.
no subject
"Performance" is a good word. You were pretty interesting yourself. [What had he called his demon? Arsene? It certainly wasn't one he was familiar with.
He's not quite sure what to make of the medicine, though. He takes it and looks it over, unsure about taking a pill from some stranger.]
no subject
( it was so hard to find a good supplier when you were new in town, you know? his hands find their way to his pockets as he shifts his weight just a little, looking raidou over again, before pressing the matter at hand... )
All in a day's work, hm? So you must fight Shadows like that often, in that case. ( he turns his head just a little towards the downed demon, but continues to watch the young man from the corner of his eye. )
no subject
"Shadow"? Is that what this is? Demons I know, and this isn't like any I've seen before. Neither was yours.
[He looks over the corpse of the Lantern himself, trying to figure it out.]
no subject
more importantly, he'd said demons, hadn't he? that garners a further look down at the monster, which seemed to be still twitching intermittently. maybe it needs a little kick with his boot. he'll oblige.
and with that— ) My Persona, you mean. ( his attention is fully on raidou this time. )
You use them too, right? I mean— Jack Frost and Nue. They answered your call. ( through those tubes... right? some kind of out dated method, perhaps...? why was he reminded of a tube tv... )
no subject
I've never heard them referred to as such.
[He looks around the area, still not sure where he is, but what he does know is that it's not safe. Reluctantly, he sheaths his sword for now, though.]
While I think we have a lot to discuss here, we should probably do it somewhere where these things definitely aren't.
no subject
I don't suppose we're going to be lucky enough to find a Safe Room nearby though. ( he closes his eyes briefly, looking as though he was trying to concentrate on something, searching for...
nope. opening them again, he just shakes his head. ) Are you familiar with this place?
no subject
I was just... here. Suddenly. I don't even know how I got here. You?
[Raidou figured it was probably similar, but maybe he had more clues than him. A spell, a flash of light, anything.
Now that the two weren't paying attention, this was a good time for the Lantern to squirm back to life. Two tentacle start out slowly at first, but then quickly reach out and grab each of the boys by their ankles. Raidou curses to himself for taking his eyes off of the thing as he draws out his sword again.]
