Two quick points here as well:
1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: A LITTLE FRENZIED
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

Do you hear something weird? Some kind of strange, constant humming? Hopefully by now you know enough to know that it's probably not nothing, and maybe you should run. If you don't, well- the Door has brought in some Winter Lanterns, from the Bloodborne video game.

Winter Lanterns are rather hideous creatures that hum constantly and glow orange when they detect someone's presence. They can grab you with their tentacles and take a nice bite out of you, which is super fun, or they can mess you up just by looking at you too long. Yep, hanging out in the gaze of a Winter Lantern for too long will end with you being afflicted by Frenzy - blood shooting out all over the place. Not great for the health, really, so maybe don't get into a staring contest. Maybe just run.]

SCENARIO TWO: HAUNTED
[You thought you might never see them again, but now they're here. That person you loved - that person you miss terribly. Except that you seem to be the only person who can see them, and you also seem to be getting steadily weaker.

So that's what it comes down to, then. This ghost that's haunting you will take your life so it can live, even if it doesn't mean to. Do you have the ability to stop them? You'll have to kill them to do it, and you love them so much. Now's the time to make your choice - but be careful. They're strong enough to be visible now, and one of your friends or even a passing stranger might have something to say about your decision.

T R A N Q U I L I T Y

SCENARIO THREE: SLEEPING SICKNESS
[For some reason you can't quite put your finger on, you're tired. Like really tired. Like slurring your words, stumbling over your own feet, nodding off if you stop for a second tired. You can't seem to get enough rest no matter what you try - because it's always a light sleep. The slightest sound or movement will wake you up, leaving you just as tired and irritable as before.

What are you going to do? Try to find a quiet place to nap? Good luck. It seems like a lot of other people have the same idea as you - it might be hard to find a truly empty place. Or maybe you just can't take it anymore, and you're going to lay down and take a nap right in the middle of the street. Or maybe you actually feel fine, but everyone around you is falling asleep - and they glare at you when you make the slightest sound.

Maybe you should wake them up? Sleeping in the middle of the street isn't exactly safe. But then, maybe you just want to join them and argue over who gets the most comfortable bit of road.]

"I don't know. I've never seen them before. Get behind me." He wasn't going to take no. Unless the girl had a death wish. Considering she actually got up, he doubted that. But then, he also knew from experience that your body's survival instincts were usually greater than your mind's.

"Questions later. Escaping first. I didn't bring enough bullets for that thing." He should have known better. But he didn't want to waste them, either.

She moved easily at the stranger's command, moving to stand behind him.

Kate didn't know who this guy was but he was reminding her uncomfortably of Seth. She was tired of hiding behind people and being protected. She didn't need to be protected but then she had just gotten shot in the back.

"Right. Do you have any other weapons?" She looked around hoping to find something that she could use as a weapon. Hell, a bat would be fine if it meant that she could use it to get away from these things.

"No. I didn't exactly expect to run into this today." Which was a damn rookie mistake. He should have expected anything to come waltzing through the place. But he hasn't expected to play savior, either, and really that was the more shocking thing that had happened so far.

"I'd suggest making a break for it. We aren't going to have much of a window if we wait any longer."

Kate wasn't freaking out, she's been in a lot of situations like this and knew that there would be a way out. Her head turned and she saw a path that they'd be able to run down though she had no idea where the path ended, it would be away from the creatures in front of them.

"That way." She pointed, making sure that the stranger was with her before running. Kate was an excellent runner though she was human and subject to the same limitations of all humans.

At least she was moving. That was a marked improvement over laying on the ground. He gave a few more shots to distract the thing before he took off after the woman too. There was no way he was a match for one of those on his own. Maybe if he had some help...but he didn't and no point in dwelling on what could be.

"Go. Keep going until you're outside."

"What's outside?"

She didn't know if answering the question would help or change their situation but it was something to focus on. Her feet moved her swiftly as she ran, trying not to stumble as the creature followed in their wake.

Kate really wished that she had a weapon as well.

"The city. Safety. Whichever answer you prefer. Just go!" Why she felt the need to as questions now... At least it seemed like she could run and talk at the same time, so that was a plus. Cal glanced over his shoulder to watch the progress of their pursuer--whatever it was--and breathed a little easier when it appeared that they might actually escape after all. He didn't want to hope for too much, though. Counting chickens and all. And he wouldn't put it beyond the damn gods to put something in front of them.

A city. That was something that Kate could focus on. She didn't know what was safe anymore, not since her father had taken her and her brother out of school and on that crazy road trip. She'd fought demons and aligned herself with killers and thieves. None of which sounded particularly safe.

Her feet continued to take her to safety and she only slowed when it seemed like whatever was chasing them wasn't behind them anymore. Her breath fell in heavy puffs and for the moment she stopped talking and focused on breathing.

Eventually they were outside again. Thank fucking god. He had so many things he was going to say to those damn gods once he felt a little more secure. That might never happen, but imagining their reactions was cathartic.

"Glad that's over?" He for sure was, and he'd done it a time or two now.

Kate turned and looked back at the opening behind them. Was it really over? "Can they not get us out here?" She didn't know. Kate knew nothing about this place except that she was supposed to be dead.

A cold feeling settles in her stomach. "Is this hell?"

"Not usually." He couldn't just say "no," but at least he could say that. It was better than no comfort at all.

He wasn't exactly understanding to her next question, either.

"Probably. It sure as hell feels like it sometimes. There are a few good things, though."

His reply brought Kate more comfort than simply saying 'no'. She didn't want a lie and it was easier to believe that he was telling her the truth since his phrasing wasn't certain.

"Let's keep moving then." She turned to walk, looking for this city that he'd mentioned before.

"What good things?"
