test drive meme #21
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open June 24th, and apps are open July 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: A LITTLE FRENZIED
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
Do you hear something weird? Some kind of strange, constant humming? Hopefully by now you know enough to know that it's probably not nothing, and maybe you should run. If you don't, well- the Door has brought in some Winter Lanterns, from the Bloodborne video game.
Winter Lanterns are rather hideous creatures that hum constantly and glow orange when they detect someone's presence. They can grab you with their tentacles and take a nice bite out of you, which is super fun, or they can mess you up just by looking at you too long. Yep, hanging out in the gaze of a Winter Lantern for too long will end with you being afflicted by Frenzy - blood shooting out all over the place. Not great for the health, really, so maybe don't get into a staring contest. Maybe just run.]

SCENARIO TWO: HAUNTED
[You thought you might never see them again, but now they're here. That person you loved - that person you miss terribly. Except that you seem to be the only person who can see them, and you also seem to be getting steadily weaker.
So that's what it comes down to, then. This ghost that's haunting you will take your life so it can live, even if it doesn't mean to. Do you have the ability to stop them? You'll have to kill them to do it, and you love them so much. Now's the time to make your choice - but be careful. They're strong enough to be visible now, and one of your friends or even a passing stranger might have something to say about your decision.
This is a mini version of our Ghosts That You Know event this month!]
T R A N Q U I L I T Y
SCENARIO THREE: SLEEPING SICKNESS
[For some reason you can't quite put your finger on, you're tired. Like really tired. Like slurring your words, stumbling over your own feet, nodding off if you stop for a second tired. You can't seem to get enough rest no matter what you try - because it's always a light sleep. The slightest sound or movement will wake you up, leaving you just as tired and irritable as before.
What are you going to do? Try to find a quiet place to nap? Good luck. It seems like a lot of other people have the same idea as you - it might be hard to find a truly empty place. Or maybe you just can't take it anymore, and you're going to lay down and take a nap right in the middle of the street. Or maybe you actually feel fine, but everyone around you is falling asleep - and they glare at you when you make the slightest sound.
Maybe you should wake them up? Sleeping in the middle of the street isn't exactly safe. But then, maybe you just want to join them and argue over who gets the most comfortable bit of road.]

Nico di Angelo | Camp Half-Blood Chronicles
[A cave, huh. Well, when you've lived in the Underworld before, you're kind of used to being underground. This doesn't look like the Underworld though. Doesn't feel like it either. Underworld or not, he'd still be on guard like he is right now since he's not in his father's palace and he learned the hard way that he can't just go anywhere he wants to in the Underworld without repercussions, even if he's Hades's son, and he's not about to make a dumb mistake like that again.
Nico's dealt with plenty of ghosts before too, probably numbering in the thousands by now. He knows it's a ghost when she shows up because he can feel it, and even though he knows she chose to be reincarnated so it can't really be her, he still wants so much to believe that there's a chance it might actually really be her that he falters for a moment. He misses her so much.]
Bianca...?
Sleeping Sickness
[Nico's felt exhaustion that he's pushed himself through before, even managed to get himself to the point where he almost started to fade away into nothing and kept going. He's not about to give up now, even if he feels like he's just shadow traveled and is completely wiped from the effort. He fights to keep his eyes open as he stumbles a little, using his sword as a makeshift walking cane to keep himself upright, resisting the urge to sleep for now. He still doesn't know where he is and there could be danger anywhere. He already had to deal with a monster as soon as he showed up wherever here was. It's not safe to just lay down and take a nap; he at least needs to find some place that's more sheltered or find someone that might be able to help him.]
WOO Option 2 as requested :D
"Nico?"
Not completely sure he wasn't losing his own mind, Will ran over to his boyfriend, putting one arm around him and another going to the sword. "Can you sheath that for me? I'm going to get you someplace safe." He looked exhausted. Like he had shadow traveled. Had he?
Will was totally ready to pick him up in that fireman's carry Nico was probably used to by now, but he really didn't want one of them to get skewered with a sword made of stygian iron.
no subject
He leaned against him for support... which probably wasn't the best idea because once he had something to lean against, his legs decided they didn't want to keep him upright anymore and down he went, sword clattering to the ground.
no subject
He grabbed him into a firemen's carry and leaned down to grab the stygian iron. That couldn't be left behind. Besides being dangerous, he was pretty sure his boyfriend would kill him.
"That's me. I'm going to run you over to the clinic okay. We got a nice bed there with your name on it."
no subject
Nico let out a grunt when Will hauled him over his shoulders, half-heartedly squirming a little bit. He was too tired to really put up as much of a protest as he would have liked to, but he was still going to be stubborn about it. "I'm still conscious, you know - I can walk, just give me a minute," he insisted, even if he still sounded exhausted. "I am not going to pass out."
no subject
"Sure you can walk. That's totally why you were trying to use your sword as a walking stick right?" He wasn't letting you down, Nico. Besides, he liked carrying you. Also you just weren't that heavy. Smirking, he added, "If you have energy to protest, why don't you tell me what happened?"

"I'm not sure. Some place far away from Camp. Maybe even Earth. There are a bunch of different people here, different plants, different worlds. Different earths. And there are Gods here." Because of course there are.
"I was kind of thinking I got pulled here because Apollo was mortal, I didn't think any non-Apollo campers would be affected." Hades was fine, after all. So, there went his theory. "I was told we came through some sort of magical door. The Gods claim they don't know how it works--but at the same time, these Gods are feeding off of our emotions."
So, naturally, Will was a little untrusting of these Gods. People end up here and it just so happens the Gods need people to feed off of? Suuuure, right, what a coincidence.
"I've been here for about a month maybe? A few weeks at least.' It was hard to tell without sky. Will missed the sun.
"So...what about you? You didn't shadow travel?"
no subject
"... You're saying we're on a different planet?" He wanted to sound skeptical but... he trusted Will to be honest with him, so even if what he was saying sounded pretty crazy, he'd believe him. "The gods... Are these our gods or completely different ones?" He'd never heard about their gods feeding off their emotions before.
"... Is time strange here too? Because you definitely haven't been missing from home for that long."
As for the shadow traveling question, he answered honestly, "I... don't think I did? I don't remember coming through some 'magical door' but I don't remember attempting to shadow travel somewhere right before I showed up here either. I don't know why I feel so tired. ... Wait, you just said the gods are feeding on our emotions. That's not a side effect, is it...?" At least it would be an explanation.
no subject
"I'm not entirely sure. We're in a cave, I can't exactly go out and take a look at the sky. We could still be on earth and this is an elaborate practical joke. But there's a lot of people out there from places I've never heard of and weapons that look like they came out of your mythomagic game."
Will walked, readjusting Nico a little. " Well they're not the Olympians, but....maybe they're like cousins of some of the minor gods? They're based of emotions, like Eros or Phobos. For all I know they're just a different aspect of them. But...a side effect? I suppose it could be. I haven't been here long enough to know though." It made sense though. If they were batteries, the batteries couldn't last forever, right? He didn't like that thought. Better get Nico someplace safe and he could get a better look at him.
He craned his neck to look at the other demigod.
"I haven't noticed anything weird here, but it's a possibility." Will had figured the others would assume he got taken by whatever was taking the others. "Hey, is Paolo okay?"
no subject
"Well, it's definitely not the Underworld; I can at least confirm that." The comment about Mythomagic makes him inwardly curious to see just what these weapons look like and see if they're actually like anything from the game... but there are more important things to deal with right now so he pushes that thought off to the side for the time being.
At the mention of Eros though, Nico visibly tenses up. "... Please tell me Eros isn't actually here." Because seriously, screw that jerk. He'd rather deal with Phobos than Eros any day. At the mention of Paolo, however... Nico gets a visibly frown on his face, craning to his head to look back at Will with slightly narrowed eyes. "Why are you asking about Paolo?"
no subject
"That's good to know." Having never been to the Underworld he was a little nervous, but he'd also figured there'd at least be Hades there, and not....all these gods. As for Mythomagic, one day maybe he'd get Nico to show him that game. It'd be cute, Nico could teach him, if they didn't get completely distracted.
"I don't think it's actually Eros. I haven't actually seen them, but from what I've heard, Love is actually a pink cloud. That.....really doesn't sound like Eros to me." That was actually more like Aphrodite, but it was still frightening. He'd take Eros or Aphrodite over a pink cloud.
Will looked over to see Nico, of course above him on his shoulders, craning his neck to glare at him. Jealous much? "Um, because he might bleed to death?" really, he thought it was obvious.
no subject
"Good." He was the opposite; he'd much rather deal with a pink cloud than Eros any day. The comment about Paolo left him with a confused face though. "What do you mean, he might bleed to death? He was fine the last time I saw him. He was at the campfire."
no subject
"Oh. That's great then. I didn't have a chance to finish re-attaching his leg, before I got here. I'm glad Kayla or Austin were able to finish." He almost added 'or Apollo,' but, he wasn't sure how much of his dad's brain was dedicated to medicine anymore. He wasn't sure what his limitations were. He also looked at Nico funny, because he figured that his boyfriend would have say, missed him, while he'd been kidnapped. Go figure.
"How are you feeling?"
no subject
no subject
Shit. That wasn't good. Campers going missing during a camp sanctioned activity? Then again, Chiron went through with this when he probably shouldn't have. He should have listened to the Athena cabin. It was too dangerous.
"I'm feeling fine. What happened to Kayla and Austin?"
no subject
no subject
"I don't remember that at all. Last I remember is trying to control the bleeding and making sure I got all of Paolo's nerves re-attached." He guessed he did. Good to know.

"Yeah, it could be. It could be a lot of things. How are you feeling?" He grabbed a hand to check on Nico. Don't make him get the gatorade.

haunted;
She's not real, [ Rose says, easily. Just like the ghosts in Haven hadn't been real, these ones aren't either. The blond knows this. Nevermind the fact that she has one of her own ghosting over her - a young, smiling Japanese man with a distinct delinquent style - that she doesn't seem to have gotten rid of just yet. ] I'm sorry, but. It's just... the gods playing tricks on us.
[ Sorrow can be a right bastard when he wants to be. She should've known him teaming up with love was going to be double the hurt. ]

[ She doesn't mean to be short if she seems like it. It's just been a day. A month. An almost year, honestly. An almost three years, if we're counting Haven. And of course she is because how can she not think of Haven ever second her brain isn't worried about Hadriel? ]
No, it's Sorrow's. And Love's.
[ They're a real knock-out combination, apparently. ]
Melinoe, though... You Greek? [ Rose was well-read. She'd studied on all the mythologies when she realized she was technically a thread in the tapestry of Japanese mythology. ]

You could say so. I'm actually Italian but I'm also a Greek demigod.
no subject
Not the same though. Also, these guys aren't really 'gods' but it's... the closest comparison.
Well, demigod, welcome to Hadriel. Maybe you'll have better luck talking to our local deities.
