Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open June 24th, and apps are open July 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.

Two quick points here as well:
1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: A LITTLE FRENZIED
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

Do you hear something weird? Some kind of strange, constant humming? Hopefully by now you know enough to know that it's probably not nothing, and maybe you should run. If you don't, well- the Door has brought in some Winter Lanterns, from the Bloodborne video game.

Winter Lanterns are rather hideous creatures that hum constantly and glow orange when they detect someone's presence. They can grab you with their tentacles and take a nice bite out of you, which is super fun, or they can mess you up just by looking at you too long. Yep, hanging out in the gaze of a Winter Lantern for too long will end with you being afflicted by Frenzy - blood shooting out all over the place. Not great for the health, really, so maybe don't get into a staring contest. Maybe just run.]

SCENARIO TWO: HAUNTED
[You thought you might never see them again, but now they're here. That person you loved - that person you miss terribly. Except that you seem to be the only person who can see them, and you also seem to be getting steadily weaker.

So that's what it comes down to, then. This ghost that's haunting you will take your life so it can live, even if it doesn't mean to. Do you have the ability to stop them? You'll have to kill them to do it, and you love them so much. Now's the time to make your choice - but be careful. They're strong enough to be visible now, and one of your friends or even a passing stranger might have something to say about your decision.

This is a mini version of our Ghosts That You Know event this month!]

T R A N Q U I L I T Y

SCENARIO THREE: SLEEPING SICKNESS
[For some reason you can't quite put your finger on, you're tired. Like really tired. Like slurring your words, stumbling over your own feet, nodding off if you stop for a second tired. You can't seem to get enough rest no matter what you try - because it's always a light sleep. The slightest sound or movement will wake you up, leaving you just as tired and irritable as before.

What are you going to do? Try to find a quiet place to nap? Good luck. It seems like a lot of other people have the same idea as you - it might be hard to find a truly empty place. Or maybe you just can't take it anymore, and you're going to lay down and take a nap right in the middle of the street. Or maybe you actually feel fine, but everyone around you is falling asleep - and they glare at you when you make the slightest sound.

Maybe you should wake them up? Sleeping in the middle of the street isn't exactly safe. But then, maybe you just want to join them and argue over who gets the most comfortable bit of road.]

It kinda is just another day for me. [She used to shotguns and pistols, but even back home she used blades a lot. What works, works.

She directs a few of the people they brought along to a storefront up the road where they can be safe.]

I've been here a while. You can get weapons from Rage's temple.

[ She's been here awhile...? This is killing his theories. She's not a zombie, is she? Drake rakes a hand through his hair and tries to recenter himself. ]

Okay... If I do, can I help you round up the last few in there?

[She takes a quick inventory of what she's got on her and pulls out a dagger, flipping it so she can hold it out to him hilt first.]

Will that work for you?

[ Drake takes the dagger with a nod, noting the skill with which she handles it. This really is old hat to her. Him, he's not so used to blades as guns, but you work with what you've got. ]

Yeah. Should one of us distract it and the other wake people up?

[She's been playing with knives since elementary school, despite Ellen's best efforts.]

I'll take care of the monsters, I move faster. [Jo is so over being bait, but once again, she seems the best choice.]

You okay with going back in?

[ She's faster and he's stronger to haul people up and out. It does makes the most sense, even if Drake hates the idea of making her bait. ]

Yeah, I'm okay. Ready. Also Drake, by the way.

[ He gestures for her to go first, since she's gonna be the one doing the distracting. ]

I'm Jo. Welcome to Hadriel.

[She takes a deep breath and nods, peering around the corners as she moves back into the arena.

She scans the arena from the shadows of the door, focusing on the nearest new person and darting out towards them.]

[ Hadriel, huh? Drake files that away and rushes out after Jo, kneeling beside the unconscious woman and rolling her onto her back, rubbing knuckles over her collarbone to wake her. ]

Come on, we have to move.

[ He helps her to her feet and points her in the direction of the exit, urging her to go as fast as possible, not to look back. Then it's on to the next newcomer while Jo distracts the creature.

Together they get the last of them rounded up, though Jo might be bleeding by the time they're done. Drake rushes to her side to help her out. ]

We're almost through, you got this.

[Her nose is definitely bleeding and there might be a small trickle from one ear, but she's still standing and she looks determined. She shoves Drake away, wiping her nose with the sleeve of her jacket.]

I'm fine. Is everyone out?

Yeah, that was the last one.

[ He lingers near her, just in case she starts to sway. The monster's still focused on her -- does she intend to take it out? ]

Let's get out of here.

[She coughs, a spattering of blood covering her lips. She doesn't think she could kill it right now.]

[ Together they make for the exit, Drake constantly glancing over to make sure she doesn't fall. She's tough, that's for sure. Once they're outside he slows to a stop in the cluster of folks they've evacuated, looking to Jo for guidance. ]

Where should we go? Will it come out after us?

[Jo tries to stand straight and stifle the urge to keep coughing.]

Hope will drive them into the caves. There are buildings to hide in.

Uhhh. Let's get you inside somewhere to recover, and hope that thing can't open doors.

[ He doesn't reach for her this time, she's made it clear she can manage on her own, but he does look around for the least dilapidated building for them to duck into. ]

There's a place this way. [Jo stumbles off to the left, heading for one of her favorite semi-ruined buildings to hang out in.

She's moving slow, but she looks determined to get there on her own.]

[ Drake just follows, not too close but ready to dart forward and catch her should she fall. ]

So... where are we?

[Jo pauses outside the building, turning towards Drake as she sweeps her arm in a broad gesture at everything.]

Welcome to Hadriel.

Hadriel.

[ As if repeating the name of the place will make this make any more sense. It doesn't. ]

I'm gonna need a little more than that.

[Jo pushes the door open and slowly sinks into a corner, sprawling her legs in front of her.]

It's a cave. The Door brought you here. Capital D on that, by the way.

[ Drake comes over and sits beside her worriedly. Maybe he should go find her some help... he'll give her some time to rest first. ]

Okay.... what's with the monsters?

[She gives him an odd half-smile, looking determined to stay upright.]

They come in with new people, with you today. The Door brings them too.

[ Well if the Door brings in monsters, he probably counts. She seems normal, though... ]

Are we dead?

[Her eyes dart off to the side and she coughs instead of sighing.]

No.

[Not technically, anyway.]

Okay. 'Cuz I don't feel dead, but it was a distinct possibility.

[She feels half-dead, but having bled out before she knows this isn't going to end the same way. Her vision isn't going dark, even if she feels exhausted and weak.]

Death isn't permanent here anyway.
