Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open June 24th, and apps are open July 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.

Two quick points here as well:

1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: A LITTLE FRENZIED
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

Do you hear something weird? Some kind of strange, constant humming? Hopefully by now you know enough to know that it's probably not nothing, and maybe you should run. If you don't, well- the Door has brought in some Winter Lanterns, from the Bloodborne video game.

Winter Lanterns are rather hideous creatures that hum constantly and glow orange when they detect someone's presence. They can grab you with their tentacles and take a nice bite out of you, which is super fun, or they can mess you up just by looking at you too long. Yep, hanging out in the gaze of a Winter Lantern for too long will end with you being afflicted by Frenzy - blood shooting out all over the place. Not great for the health, really, so maybe don't get into a staring contest. Maybe just run.]

S O R R O W / L O V E

SCENARIO TWO: HAUNTED
[You thought you might never see them again, but now they're here. That person you loved - that person you miss terribly. Except that you seem to be the only person who can see them, and you also seem to be getting steadily weaker.

So that's what it comes down to, then. This ghost that's haunting you will take your life so it can live, even if it doesn't mean to. Do you have the ability to stop them? You'll have to kill them to do it, and you love them so much. Now's the time to make your choice - but be careful. They're strong enough to be visible now, and one of your friends or even a passing stranger might have something to say about your decision.

This is a mini version of our Ghosts That You Know event this month!]

T R A N Q U I L I T Y

SCENARIO THREE: SLEEPING SICKNESS
[For some reason you can't quite put your finger on, you're tired. Like really tired. Like slurring your words, stumbling over your own feet, nodding off if you stop for a second tired. You can't seem to get enough rest no matter what you try - because it's always a light sleep. The slightest sound or movement will wake you up, leaving you just as tired and irritable as before.

What are you going to do? Try to find a quiet place to nap? Good luck. It seems like a lot of other people have the same idea as you - it might be hard to find a truly empty place. Or maybe you just can't take it anymore, and you're going to lay down and take a nap right in the middle of the street. Or maybe you actually feel fine, but everyone around you is falling asleep - and they glare at you when you make the slightest sound.

Maybe you should wake them up? Sleeping in the middle of the street isn't exactly safe. But then, maybe you just want to join them and argue over who gets the most comfortable bit of road.]

[He grins, but rolls his eyes in the most over-the-top motion. Anyone else in the Coliseum must think they look ridiculous as they try to one-up each other but Taako doesn't even care.]

Hey, I don't want it if you're gonna give me some kinda mercy kill here. You wanna talk about messin' up my grove, you're the one throwing me off balance with, with all this.

[Let him be sassy!! Don't take this from him!!!]

[The appearance of the grotesque beast was certainly meant to inspire fear in all of the newcomers to Hadriel, to drop them into an unexpected fight and to see how they managed to fare. But after all that the two of them had faced together, the multitude of different worlds they'd taken on, Lup knew that as long as she was alongside her brother, she was absolutely unshakeable.

It was difficult for her to not feel like they were invincible.]

Oh? [Lup teases, mouth twisting into a wide grin as she laughs, gesturing to herself.] All this, huh? Well, if I'm really throwing you off your game, bro, I better just get out of your hair, right? [She walks a good fifteen feet away from Taako and the struggling beast and plops right onto the ground of the coliseum, legs crossing and her head falling into her palm. They must look absolutely insane to anyone else, but to her, it was all a silly game. Most things were.

Lup cups her free hand around her mouth and shouts,] Okay! This far away enough?

[With all due respect that Taako absolutely won't give, Hadriel's put him through his paces before. But this? Just some rando monster, with his sister at his back? This city's gonna have to try so much harder than that. They're fuckin' unstoppable. Infallible.

Even if she is like, the worst, and Taako's making a face to prove it, sticking his tongue out as far as it'll go as she sets herself up. Somewhere in the back of his mind he remembers that Evard's Black Tentacles are only gonna last another 15 or so seconds and he should probably do something about that, but fuck it, he can handle it.]

That depends how far your brain's gonna go when I blow your mind!

[He slides the Umbra Staff down his arm, the curved end latching around his wrist and letting him spin it up into his hand. He's not done with the showboating yet, even as the tip begins to glow a sickly green, and he twirls it in his fingers like a baton as the light grows, cutting a focal point path through the air. Finally, he tosses it with a spin and locks his ankles around each other to a tight turn, catching it on it's end with his arm extended, his other hand holding the brim of his hat to tilt it just enough for his eyes to be able to see.]

Boom, baby.

[And as the tentacles disintegrate, another thing is about to follow it, because being restrained is an automatic fail of a dex save. The green, translucent ray shoots out of the tip, and it engulfs the monster, reducing it to dust in seconds. He grins wide as he turns back to Lup, swinging his hip out as he plans the end of the Umbra Staff into the dirt, leaning on it dramatically.]

[Hadriel has done nothing but help expand upon Taako's flair for the dramatic. Clearly he'd been practicing since their last combat sesh!

But whatever sight Taako was expecting to greet him when he spun back to meet his sister's gaze, it couldn't possibly have been as warm a reception as he thought he deserved. Lup was still on the ground where he'd left her, long legs stretched out and her head thrown back to face the sky. The woman's whole body was tilted back, supported fully by her arms. To anyone observing her, it would certainly appear as if she was peacefully sunbathing, eyes closed and head tilted up to soak in the sun's wonderful rays. But considering the only thing above them was the looming dome of never-ending rock that made up Hadriel, Taako would see the act as the complete bullshit it was.

When her brother finally plants the Umbra Staff into the dirt with that particular flair of his, Lup startles, as if she had forgotten he was there at all.]

Hm? [Lup opens her eyes and shoots her brother what is meant to be a disarmingly sweet grin, but on Lup, her mouth always curls just a little too much to the right to not look predatory. Like there's always some joke looping in her mind.] Oh, sorry, Taako. Did you say something? I was just starting to drift off there... [Her gaze flits over her brother's appearance before moving to the wide open and monster-free space behind him. She gasps in feigned surprise.] Oh dag, did I miss the whole light show? Oh, oh dern...

[Taako got it in one. She really is the worst.]
