That's the lie.. no ... that has to be the lie... [ He comes across as almost begging for that to be a lie. ]

Ah... of course that's the lie! [Still, she was raised by monsters, her diet is somehow different from 'normal' people.] I am very fond of meats of any sort. [May or may not include bugs, who knows]

I'd give my powers for a good behemoth steak right now.

... It just occurred to me; your step father was a sea snake? And you.. eat behemoth steak? I can't imagine.. I bet it's .. pretty strong.

He is, one may say I have quite the... peculiar adoptive family. [For Rydia it's the norm but she's aware that most humans don't usually mingle with monsters... and the man does seem human.] Anyway, don't be fooled by a behemoth's look, the meat is tender and delicate if you know how to cook it and which cuts to pick.

[There's an awkward pause] I always had someone cooking for me so in all honestly I wouldn't know where to begin but I can guarantee on its deliciousness if properly prepared.

Well.. you got me there too. I ... don't really do the cooking either. My friend, Ignis, he was the chef.. I'll have to ask him if he ever made us some behemoth steaks before.. I mean, we did have some pretty wild kills out in the wild .. but it was a while ago..

Okay, so.. about your.. sea snake... father... step father. Was he literally a.. sea snake..?

[Rydia chuckles.] well, we do seem to have something in common, I let my friends cook for me as well. I can't even imagine how things would turn out if I dared to attempt more difficult than placing meat on a stick and slowly roasting it over a fire.

He was a literal sea snake, yes. If it can reassure you my mother wasn't human either, not my adoptive one. He was... please give me a moment. [She waves a hand in front of the camera and sits back on her chair, scribbling on empty pages for a while. When she shows up the book she doodled on she's holding a very simplistic drawing of Leviathan and... something that vaguely resembers a woman with six arms and three heads.] That's how my parents looked like. More or less.

I suppose now you can imagine why behemoth steaks were on the menu.

.... Wow. [ He was at a loss for words. So he smiled. For a moment. Then he found something else to say: ] Yeah, um..

My dad is taller than me and my mom.. she just had.. mm, the two arms. She was a lovely woman. So, like.. what was dinner even like at your table growing up? Like..

I know, a bit different from the usual human family but I didn't mind in the end.

[She smiles while listening to him, Rydia loves when people talk about their families as well.] I see... well, even my natural mother had two arms, it's usually the norm. [there's a short pause] Anything you'd like to share about them? I'd like to learn more about the people I live with.

[And there's another short pause, this time she sounds a bit embarassed when she speaks again.] It really dependend on who was the cook but we usually did, yes.

Hm, my dad's here. Regis, have you seen him? Uh.. well, met him.. I should ask. [ The assumption that everyone already knew King Regis was going to need some adjustment. In this world, nobody would know him just by sight alone, not like they knew him back home. So, that's going to be a bit awkward. Yeah? ]

Oh! Lord Regis, I've seen him speak to us all more than once but I never got a chance to speak with him too much. I... it must be lovely to be here with someone of your family. I hope. [Rydia an't really say to know them too well, to be hones.] He sounds... wise, thought.

Eheh... that's to be expected, to be fair. Wisdom comes with experience and... you're certainly younger than him. No one from my family, probably for the best since many of them don't look fondly at humans, but I'm lucky enough to have a friend from my world here- and I also befriended people in the city so I'm far from alone
