It really wasn't fair for me to play on the same level as anyone else, anyways. [Glacius waves a hand in a mock-aloof manner. He just wanted to participate--you know, as he always likes to be involved.

He then lowers his head and lifts his brows as a thought occurs to him.]
So tell me something about you that I don't know.

I'm not sure what there is to tell.

[Glacius knows a lot about him, let's be fair. And he lives a rather boring life.]

Anything. Guilty pleasure, rarely-recounted memory, mundane fact... I'd accept any little tidbit. [And Carlisle knows a lot about his alien, chief among the many facts being that he is not one to be deterred.] Come now. I'll tell you something about myself, if that adds incentive.

Well... I remember when I was very young, my father took me into the woods. When we were far from town, we crossed paths with a great horned elk. The beast was taller than either of us, and looked at my father and me without an ounce of fear in his eyes.

I recall that I was transfixed, and asked my father if he would make me a bow from the horns of a beast like that someday. He promised he would, but I suppose it's better now that he didn't, given I never learned how to properly use one.

[Glacius goes quiet, listening intently and trying to imagine what that moment must have been like. It's a little difficult, given that he's not entirely familiar with what an elk actually is, but something with a crown of horns like that must have been impressive in its own right. He smiles a little... he's always wary when Carlisle's family gets brought up as he's acutely aware how the loss has affected his partner, but this sounds like a good memory nonetheless.] Wild beasts like that can often be quite elusive. It must have been quite something to have that chance encounter--and to share it with your father, nonetheless. Nature is impressive and awe-inspiring in its own right; it can be easy to forget that when you live so far away from it. I must admit it is hard to imagine you asking for a weapon, averse to conflict as you are... but if it is a token of that moment then I can understand.

And that is not a bad idea. I know you're not one for hunting, but... if we ever encounter some grand beast together, maybe then we could make you something from its remains. [Glacius suggests this in a hopeful but casual sort of manner, currently having no idea what a shared hunt or gift of that manner actually means in his partner's culture!]
