Two Truths and a Lie

• Make a toplevel for your character
• ICly post two truths and a lie! Or four truths and two lies, or multiple sets of two truths and a lie, or whatever you want. Just make sure to make it clear how many lies there are for others to guess.
• Other characters reply and try to guess the lie
• Learn things/Discuss/Respond to other characters
• Make sure to put in a content warning if any of the truths/lies would warrant one
• Have fun!

People would rather place value in brute strength than in words. And so often, that strength is used in the wrong ways. If there is a path where violence can be avoided, it should be taken.

[Carlisle, you're Lance's new favorite person other than his close friends. Sorry, other acquaintances.]

I am so glad I'm not the only person here who thinks this.

[He'd kind of started to wonder if he was the one with the messed up thinking, at this point. And sure, he knows not everyone else here is so happy to resort to murder, but the percentage is staggeringly high.]

[It really is, Lance. Carlisle has been politely horrified more times than he'd like to admit with how casual folks are with violence.]

I could say the same. I wonder why it is that the Door draws in individuals who steer toward such things... or perhaps there is some other commonality among us all that we have yet to discover.

[And not just casual with it, but seemingly proud of it.]

I'd almost like to think that's something preferred by the Door, in that it'd at least be an explanation. In my world, most people are not murderers or even criminals of any kind; here it seems to be the opposite.

[And it makes him sad. If the Door likes choosing these people specifically, though, that would explain the prevalence.]

Though I guess it's also possible it's random, and just bad luck.

Perhaps. Though it does bring in people from the same worlds. What are the odds of that happening if it were truly random?

A friend of mine and I actually discussed this just recently, and I'm... Really not sure.

[Statistics is not his strong point, Carlisle; he got a B in that class. A B. That's practically failing!!!]

I'd think it was really unlikely, though. Especially if there are multiple versions of the same universe like is theorized, but those from the same worlds who show up here seem to remember the same events.

[Even more unlikely for it to be random chance in those cases, but again, what does he know?]

And then there are those who are brought here more than once, and those who are plucked from their worlds at different times.

[Math is hard, technology makes him nervous, and the idea of multiple worlds and multiple Carlisles makes him even more nervous. Everything is terrible, more news at the top of the hour.]

There are times I so desperately want answers, and others when I would prefer not to dwell on what goes through the minds of false deities. They might find more creative ways to torment us if we look too long and too hard into their affairs.
