We ate our feelings. Then drank our feelings. I feel feminism delivered.

Telperinquar, you are too sweet a person for this family.

Everyone in this family has kindness in them. It's their circumstances and their reactions to said circumstances that hide their true hearts from the world.

But I've seen them.

They do, though we usually match that kindness with more obstinacy than might be good for us.

But your kindness does you credit, little cousin, even more than you wondrous talents.

I'm finding said obstinacy more and more charming. (Maybe it's an acquired taste?)

I would not call my talents "wondrous". I am a far cry from Grandfather.

I'm rather fond of it myself. [Absolutely. Like strong wine and moldy cheeses.]

Your grandfather was the kind of genius who comes around once in the lifetime of the world- and I'm not sure the world could handle more than one of him.

But of the remaining Noldor, how many can match your skill? Enerdhil of my brother's people, perhaps, and maybe your father as well. Not even a handful, among a people proud of their craft.

Maybe you have some equals among the Dwarves, of course. But not so many, I would wager.

We must share the same illness. (Ah yes. The moldy cheeses, which you need the strong wine to keep down!)

I would never think to compete with him. What he did...should not have been done. It would frighten me to have that sort of power over jewels and metal. That is why I focused more on what Arda had to offer on her own. I worked side by side with the Dwarves and discovered a new material which I call Mithril.

(He speaks animately, brightening without any sign of bitterness towards those who shared his craft. It simply isn't in his heart to feel that way.)

They are truly gifted and smart in how they harvest the stones and the metal from the mountain. I wished to help them protect their mines in particular, so my Dwarven friend and I fashioned a door.

It's likely hereditary. [Or cultural. Just like maggot-ripened cheese recipes.]

That is good to hear, little cousin. Your own skills are such that they should need no comparison to your grandfather's to be worthy of praise.

[And his kinder, less restless nature will probably produce less screaming fits in the people around him- not exactly a bad thing.

Fingon has to suppress a grin at Celebrimbor's enthusiasm.]

You do sometimes make me wish I'd seen more of the dwarves' work in Beleriand, though I suppose I could hardly appreciate it as you do. You were fortunate to have such friends.
