Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open September 24th, and apps are open October 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.

Two quick points here as well:
1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

SCENARIO ONE: TITAN TERRORS
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

In this case, the monster behind you may as well be the monster above you. No, not anything flying overhead, but the freakishly giant nude monsters hellbent on shoving your crunchy body into their mouths and chowing down.

Titans are large humanlike creatures who have superior strength, though more limited intelligence. Much like zombies, they desire only to devour all of the humans in their vicinity and will use any tools at their disposal to do so. Get your steel guitars ready and get pumped, because sie sind das essen und wir sind die jager!!!]

SCENARIO TWO: PAINTBALL ROYALE
[You've got a gun.

Okay, it's not a real gun- it's actually a paintball gun, which seems to knock people unconscious when you hit them. That's a pretty sweet deal! Except, you really want to be the last one standing, and you'll knock out countless people to do it. Every fight feels like life or death, whether you're waiting in the shadows to get the drop on someone or spraying paint all across the open streets in the fain hopes that you might get a tag or two.

Either way, if you lose, you'll find yourself waking up in a party! That's not so bad, right? It's a giant gathering of all the paint-covered losers in the city, with free food and drinks and a distribution of excellent prizes. What did you win? Fight your friends, but not in the dark and trauma-y way, and be the next winner of our Hadriel death (not really) match!

This is a mini version of our Party Royale event this month.]

C O N F U S I O N

SCENARIO THREE: WALK WALK FASHION BABY
[Your trusty leather jacket is gone. So are your worn and torn jeans, all your summer dresses, your boots and high tops and heels. Suddenly, nothing is where you expect it to be, not even that load of clothes that you've left in the laundry for the past few weeks (oops). In the stead of all of your beloved duds, you find some stuff that... might be a little questionable.

Whether you were the lucky recipient of the hand shawl, the face skirt, the suspender sweats or some other wild atrocity, you'll be sure to have some fun trying to maneuver around the city in your weird, cumbersome outfits. At least you don't look as silly as that guy over there in the sea urchin costume!]

[ Right. Out of here is the best plan... he can come back later with help to kill the thing, as it's likely going to be trapped inside. If there's anyone here better armed for killing giants.

Holy shit where has he wound up?

Wash catches up to Ed easily, following him out the door and down a short tunnel out of the colosseum. They seem to be in some kind of city, but when he looks up, there's no sky. Just a distant, cavernous darkness. No other people on the streets that he can see. He looks to Ed, sizing him up. It's been a long time since he encountered anyone who wasn't wearing armor. ]

Who are you? What's the last thing you remember?

[It might not be a surprise that the guy in the prison jumpsuit doesn't take well to sudden questioning. At first, Ed almost doesn't even hear Wash, since he's taken aback by the scenery as well, but his answer probably sounds more defensive than he means it to be.]

I'm-- not from here, in case that wasn't obvious. The last thing I was doing was reading. Doing nothing.

[Laying in his cell. As you do.]

If someone cast a spell to cause this, I didn't see any indication of how they did it. Nothing.

[He gives Wash another look, still trying to figure him out.]

Where are you from?

[ Well, at least Wash won't judge him too much based on the jumpsuit -- he's been a prisoner before, as well. He does raise an eyebrow inside his helmet at the mention of a spell. ]

A spell. Like magic?

[ How much should he share? ]

Last thing I remember, I was on a planet called Chorus.

A planet? [This is only adding to his space robot theory. His mind races.] Not Earth. Another plane, then?

[He's trying to make sense of it through what he knows, and what he knows is magic.]

Exactly like magic. What else can transport you so suddenly and so far? I'm assuming far. Really far.

[He keeps an eye behind them. The titan can be heard, but not seen. That's good.]

Someone's got a lot of explaining to do.

Another plane? No, just another planet. And teleporters can, but I sure as hell didn't step through one.

[ They're definitely not on the same page here, until Ed says that. ]

Yeah, someone does, alright. The question is who we ask.

["Just" another planet, like it's no big deal. Ed gives him a look that shows he's trying very hard to process all of this.]

I feel like we're talking about two different things, but neither of us are wrong. If that makes any sense.

[Not really, but did any of this make sense?]

I guess we gotta go looking. And hope that there aren't any more people-eating giants out there. Though I'm not sure that's something you have to worry about...?

[He nods at Wash to indicate his armor. Titans probably don't snack on spacemen.]

I think you might be right. Has your world not discovered space travel yet?

[ Wash sets his trackers -- if there are any more people-eating giants around, he'll know before they see them. Hell, if there are any people at all. ]

...yeah, they might not be able to bite through my armor, but I don't want to give them the chance to try.

[His eyes widen at that a bit.] Space travel? Not quite, no. [He's from 1953. The first satellite in space is still four years away.]

And I would really, really like to sit down and talk about it, but--

[He waves a hand above them. At the cave.]

We're underground, on top of everything else. We gotta find a way out of here.

[ Wash reaches into his storage compartment for the device he woke up next to, waggling it unhappily. Different universes would actually seem to be a thing. Which means that some of the other stuff the guide mentioned might be true, too. ]

From what I got to read before the giants showed up, there might not be one.

No. What? You're kidding. How do you know?

[Ed doesn't even know he has a phone yet. Not that he'd know what it is if he did.]

There's no such thing as no way out of somewhere. If there isn't an exit, we make one. [There are spells for this sort of thing. Of course, all of his books are far, far away right now, and he doesn't exactly have those kind of spells memorized.]

[ This guy sounds like Sarge -- part of Wash is wondering if he's got a digging machine somewhere, ready to burrow through the cave walls back to the surface of whatever planet they're on. The rest of him is being realistic. ]

There's an intro guide on the phones. People have been trying for a long time.

Doesn't mean we shouldn't, but we need to be prepared to be here awhile while we figure something out. How would you make an exit?

[Nothing's impossible with magic! Unless you're Ed. Then a lot of magic things are impossible.]

Right. Just means we need to try something new. [He scratches the back of his head, thinking.] There're spells for this sorta thing. Even if they can't get us out, they can aid us with orientation. Y'know, let us know where we are in relation to the surface, what direction we're facing, et cetera.

[ Wash raises an eyebrow inside his helmet. ]

...spells? Do you mean that literally?

...Yes? [He better explain.] Right. I'm a mage. Without any spells to reference or components to use, using magic is gonna be tough, but I can see what I can do.

[Nothing. He can do nothing. But that's certainly never stopped him from trying before.]
