Test Drive Meme #24
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open September 24th, and apps are open October 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: TITAN TERRORS
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
In this case, the monster behind you may as well be the monster above you. No, not anything flying overhead, but the freakishly giant nude monsters hellbent on shoving your crunchy body into their mouths and chowing down.
Titans are large humanlike creatures who have superior strength, though more limited intelligence. Much like zombies, they desire only to devour all of the humans in their vicinity and will use any tools at their disposal to do so. Get your steel guitars ready and get pumped, because sie sind das essen und wir sind die jager!!!]

SCENARIO TWO: PAINTBALL ROYALE
[You've got a gun.
Okay, it's not a real gun- it's actually a paintball gun, which seems to knock people unconscious when you hit them. That's a pretty sweet deal! Except, you really want to be the last one standing, and you'll knock out countless people to do it. Every fight feels like life or death, whether you're waiting in the shadows to get the drop on someone or spraying paint all across the open streets in the fain hopes that you might get a tag or two.
Either way, if you lose, you'll find yourself waking up in a party! That's not so bad, right? It's a giant gathering of all the paint-covered losers in the city, with free food and drinks and a distribution of excellent prizes. What did you win? Fight your friends, but not in the dark and trauma-y way, and be the next winner of our Hadriel death (not really) match!
This is a mini version of our Party Royale event this month.]

SCENARIO THREE: WALK WALK FASHION BABY
[Your trusty leather jacket is gone. So are your worn and torn jeans, all your summer dresses, your boots and high tops and heels. Suddenly, nothing is where you expect it to be, not even that load of clothes that you've left in the laundry for the past few weeks (oops). In the stead of all of your beloved duds, you find some stuff that... might be a little questionable.
Whether you were the lucky recipient of the hand shawl, the face skirt, the suspender sweats or some other wild atrocity, you'll be sure to have some fun trying to maneuver around the city in your weird, cumbersome outfits. At least you don't look as silly as that guy over there in the sea urchin costume!]

R | Warm Bodies
[ There are a lot of things to consider when you end up in a strange place without that girl you like. R was considering all of them as fast as his half rotted brain could handle.
Where am I? This definitely doesn't look like the airport. Where's Julie?
Of course all these questions fade in importance compared to the one that comes up the moment he sees the titan.
What the fuck is that?
He might not be the freshest meat but R ducks behind a building all the same, only realizing once he's there that he's not alone. Looking over at his new friend R waves awkwardly.
Act casual. And don't smile, don't smile. I think I have Perry in my teeth. ]
…hi.
2. rage
[ R didn't last long in paintball, so now he's at the afterparty trying his best to blend in. That involves a lot of hovering at the edges of things with his hands shoved in his pockets. This is fine, everything is fine. He has a charming mix of paintball splatters and blood on his gross hoodie. That's totally inconspicuous.
God, I look fucking terrible. Why am I even here?
At least no one has tried to shoot him in the head yet. R keeps avoiding the crowd, head whipping around now and then as he looks for any kind of familiar face. He also takes the time to pocket any interesting looking trinkets left unsupervised. He has a problem.
At one point he could swear he saw Julie and it's enough to make him brave mingling with the crowd and for a moment he comes alive. Until he bumps into someone and loses sight. ]
S... sorry...
1.
He takes a step back, reaching for his axe, when... the guy speaks.
Romeros don't talk. He's not too far gone yet. Okay, new plan. He's still wary, still has his hand over his weapon, but he's not moving to make with the head trauma yet. ]
Hey. You just get here?
no subject
Okay, I can do this. Maybe he won't axe my face off.
He nods, trying to look as harmless as an actual factual zombie wearing a gross bloody hoodie can possibly look. The words don't come easy but this is unlife or death. ]
Y... Yeah. Wh... where?
no subject
It's a place called Hadriel. We were all brought here from different worlds.
[ If he'd ever asked Blaine or Liv for details, he might know that this kind of zombieism isn't quite the same as his, but he hasn't so he's going to assume the guy's just hungry. That he can reverse some of the damage done to him if he feeds him. Is that a thing? Can he help? ]
You should come with me.
no subject
Got to be... kidding.
[ It hasn't sunk in yet that Drake doesn't smell like food, doesn't ping the part of his undead brain that can smell a hint of life and make him want to sink his teeth in. Between the titan still wandering around, the lingering possibility that this guy might decide to kill him and the fact that Julie is nowhere in sight R is kind of distracted. ]
I need... need to find. [ Spit it out already! I'd kill me at this rate. ] Julie. Not safe. Promised.
no subject
I'm not kidding, man. You're not in Kansas anymore... nobody's sure how the Door works, that's what drags us here, but it's for real a different place. And if you didn't see your friend back in the colosseum, she probably didn't come with you.
[ He knows that's not comforting. But there's no use sugar coating it when they were currently hiding from the monster of the month together. It would just be crueler to let the guy run around the city looking for this Julie. He'd get trampled or eaten. ]
What's your name?
no subject
But then Drake asks his name. Shit. ]
Rrrrr... [ He tries a couple more times, the R noise repeated. It's all he has, and R is the name Julie gave him which means it's one he likes. Whoever he was before, that guy is pretty much gone anyways.
Cut me some slack, dude. I'm trying.
Eventually he shrugs and hopes Drake figures it out. Partially decomposed brain makes remembering things hard. ]
no subject
Richard? Robert? Ralph? [ He scratches his head... he's trying to help, but nothing seems to click. The zombie in front of him just makes the rrrrr sound again and Drake shrugs. ] You've gotta give me something to call you.
no subject
R shakes his head at each suggestion, wishing it was easier. Words are hard, they're slowly getting easier. Julie helped with that by pushing him to be more than just a corpse. So he tries again, looking frustrated. ]
R. [ His first instinct it to just let the noise drag into another rrrr but he cuts it off. He can do this. ] It's... it's R. That's it. [ It's all that's left anyways. ]
no subject
Just R, huh? I can roll with that. You really should come with me, though -- are you hungry?
no subject
Then it sinks in. This guy, he doesn't smell like food. ]
You're... what are you?
no subject
I'm like you.
You can't tell anyone, alright? But we're gonna fix you up. You just have to come with me.
no subject
Okay.
[ It's not like he has a better option. If he doesn't go with his new alleged zombie friend then he'll probably get eaten by that big asshole running around. ]
no subject
Okay, this way.
[ Drake leads him down the alley, peering out to see if there are any titans that way. There aren't. It's a short run to spire 3 -- made longer by R's shambling, but they still make it there. ]
...can you do stairs?
no subject
Don't patronize me. I'm dead, not stupid.
And as a finisher he flips him off over his shoulder. Classy, right? Look at that show of manual dexterity. ]
no subject
Okay, okay, that's not what I meant. But it's the third floor, turn left.
no subject
R climbs the steps, not fast but also without any accidents and waits for Drake at the third floor. Of course it's occured to him that he hasn't actually gotten any info out of this guy. ]
Y... your name?

2.
A party, though, is something she knows how to make her way around and she gives brief, small smiles to the people that she brushes past on her way to find.. some kind of alcohol, maybe?
She could kill for a margarita. Something fancy that hadn't been sitting in a metal flask for three weeks.
Someone bumps into her, and she whips 'round. Her mouth drops open immediately. Guess who she didn't think she'd ever see again after she left him stranded in the suburbs?]
R? Oh my God, R!
no subject
He has some paint spattered across his cheek from where he was shot, blue bright against corpse colored skin. ]
Julie. You're safe.
[ He smiles, the expression is as not pretty as ever but he's pleased to see her. Please to know that wherever the hell they are at least now he can try and protect her. ]
no subject
[She doesn't know what to say to him, and the feeling she has upon seeing him tells her one thing immediately - leaving him behind like that was stupid. So stupid.
Julie tries to smile back but the expression doesn't make it to her eyes. She shifts from one foot to the other, awkward, and inhale-exhales quickly.]
... You're not angry with me?
no subject
Why... would I be?
[ It feels like something is out of sync, like a record that's skipped a verse and left him fumbling to find the rhythm again. What happened between when they arrived and now to make her look so unsure? Usually she's so confident about everything, a hurricane in girl shape that changed the landscape of his unlife. ]
Did something... happen?
no subject
[No one's given Julie the 411 on arriving in this place from different times even if you come from the same place.
She looks up at R and frowns, puzzled at his lack of recollection, but then she shakes her head and puts her arms around him, hugging him tightly.]
I knew they'd hurt you. No one would understand, especially my dad. [She muffles her voice in his shirt and sighs.]
But I'm sorry. I should have explained. ... I missed you, R.
no subject
He shakes his head because from his perspective this abandonment has yet to happen. But still, she's here and hugging him and he wraps his arms around her for a clumsy hug. ]
I'm here. Missed you, too. [ He also might have made a zombie friend? His social circle is expanding at an alarming rate. ]
no subject
Let's stick together, okay? You and me.
[She's not going to make the same mistake again.]
I haven't seen anyone else that I know... Have you? [It's a little more alarming if he has.]
no subject
No one else. [ No M to call him names or make fun of him, though he doesn't know that he'd even be welcome back at the airport hive after what he did to protect her. It's too bad, he'll miss him. ] We'll stick... together.
