test drive meme # 26
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open November 24th, and apps are open December 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
This time, the monsters are a bit more transparent, as the Door will bring in a few skeletons! Skeletons often accompany the fear of death and can such be found as entry-level monsters in many different stories and games of all kinds.
Skeletons are well... skeletons.... but they move around like they're still alive. Some of them use weapons to make you fear death by killing you, which is cool for them I suppose. They're not particularly smart and they can be tricked very easily, but once they hone in on a victim they won't rest until they make everyone else just as dead as they are.]

SCENARIO TWO: SQUAD GOALS
[Hey, look to the guy or gal to the left or right side of you. Did you guys just become best friends?
I think you did! For the next little while, you find yourself entering into these odd platonic relationships you'd never considered before. That guy who you kind of awkwardly made eye contact with at the grocery store last week? Best friends! The lady who's friends with your roommate's sister? Inseparable pals!
This event, based off of our recent event of the same name inspires you and all your weird facebook acquaintances to suddenly feel like you're best buds. You guys will share everything together, do everything together, and just generally think the world of one another. Enjoy your new and beautiful friendship!]
S O R R O W
SCENARIO THREE: INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS
[You know that voice deep in the back of your head that you generally ignore? You know, the one that tells you that you're stupid or worthless or that you should push that old lady into traffic? Well, usually you ignore them- we know you do, because you're a decent person who doesn't experience that kind of self doubt.
Now, though, all those little voices seem to have some merit. You're not sure why, but suddenly just giving into your weirdest impulses sounds like a good idea. You'll have to fight even harder to ignore them, particularly the ones that tell you to do something. What would that guy do if you just up and punched him in the face? What about if you just broke that chick's window? You'll have to find out!
Alternatively, all those thoughts about how lame you are and how you'll never succeed at anything are a bit more believable too. Hopefully you don't have too many of those- but hey, if you do then you can always drown your sorrows away at the local bar!]
naoto fuyumine | dogs: bullets & carnage
[this isn't the underground that she knows, these aren't the enemies that naoto is used to fighting. but as long as there is a blade in her hand and someone to protect, naoto will do exactly that - fight.
today she's fighting skeletons instead of dog soldiers, and she isn't sure if it's more unsettling to fight something that wears a mask or something that wears nothing. but they do have one thing in common - they're not alive. there's a voice in her head that reminds her to not hold back, and it sounds a lot like heine's.
she scatters bones with her katana before swinging the blade up to block a swinging sword.]
Where are they coming from!
delight/love:
[she doesn't smile very often. there hasn't been a lot in her life (what she can remember of it) to smile about. just about everyone that naoto knows could say the same. but she's smiling now, and there's even a touch of color on her cheeks. she's clearly very fond of the person that she's looking at.
so what if you just met. naoto seems perfectly content to listen to your stories or watch your displays. what are friends for?]
wildcard:
[sorrow option or anything else that strikes your fancy!]
fear!
Springing, skidding and jumping up into the air. A grenade held by the pin between his snarling teeth, the chain part of his weapon held tort between each hand as Heine used it to snap on poor skeletons head clean off by the jaw. ]
Shit, Naoto, I've heard of Skeletons in the closet, but this takes the piss!
[ He was in his element. Like a dog with a bone... Lunging and tearing them apart, no need to waste a single bullet when you could use your bare hands. ]
!
...Is it just me or are you enjoying this?
[naoto pushes the skeleton back before delivering a hard kick to its ribs. for all her denial that they're anything at all alike, the pair of them have managed to pile up some bones around them.]
Hey there~
What's not to enjoy?
[ Said while ramming the grenade into a cackling skeletons mouth. Yanking his own head aside to relieve it of its pin. Heine quickly drop-kicked the skeleton in the ribs, sending it back into a collecting group of the enemies, like skittles in a bowling alley. He smirked, looking back over his shoulder at her, spitting the pin out and waiting for the boom. ]
hello hello
[at least not while she has to hold two skeletons at bay with her saya while she deals with the one on her right. naoto watches one of their skulls as it rolls in his direction, her eyes going wide when she sees what he's spit to the ground.
,
explosions. it always seems to come down to explosions. naoto braces herself, the hem of her skirt rustled by the boom.]
It would be nice if you had more than one of those. [you just can't please some people. though she'd have to admit that it took care of a fair few of the things.] We should find out where they're coming from.
no subject
Shit-
[ Ah well, what's a little third-degree burn for a genetic freak like Heine? The explosion was a great idea, sure did make a dent in their numbers. Stepping out from the smoke and debris, Heine dusted down his attire, a little steam coming from his already regenerating wounds. ]
Who said I didn't?
[ With that said, Heine tucked an arm behind his back, unclipping something from the belt of his leather trousers and quickly tossed the small, round object at Naoto. ]
Think fast.
[ He called out as the grenade with its pin still safely intact, made its way through the air in Naoto's direction. Heine looked around, it was kinda dark in here at least, no need for his shades. ]
Maybe they respawn? This shit stinks of a Golden Axe re-boot after all.
[ In the distance, Heine could see a small group of people that had managed to break away from the horde. Did they seem to have found an exit of some kind? Pointing towards them as he spoke.]
Could just tag along with the crowd...
no subject
[he answers that question before she can even finish, by actually tossing the grenade. naoto isn't clusmy, and her reflexes are better than most, but it's still a grenade. she catches it in both hands, sighing gently.]
This isn't a movie, Heine.
[movie, game. she's not as familiar with either of those as he is. but she does know what 'respawn' means, and it's a possibility. if that's the case, they can cut and blow up as many as they want and it won't make much of a difference. she keeps the grenade in her hand, sheathing her blade and then using the whole weapon to take out another skeleton at the knees.]
I think we should. Let's go.
[she looks around them, and no one else seems to have lingered.]
