test drive meme # 26
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open November 24th, and apps are open December 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
This time, the monsters are a bit more transparent, as the Door will bring in a few skeletons! Skeletons often accompany the fear of death and can such be found as entry-level monsters in many different stories and games of all kinds.
Skeletons are well... skeletons.... but they move around like they're still alive. Some of them use weapons to make you fear death by killing you, which is cool for them I suppose. They're not particularly smart and they can be tricked very easily, but once they hone in on a victim they won't rest until they make everyone else just as dead as they are.]

SCENARIO TWO: SQUAD GOALS
[Hey, look to the guy or gal to the left or right side of you. Did you guys just become best friends?
I think you did! For the next little while, you find yourself entering into these odd platonic relationships you'd never considered before. That guy who you kind of awkwardly made eye contact with at the grocery store last week? Best friends! The lady who's friends with your roommate's sister? Inseparable pals!
This event, based off of our recent event of the same name inspires you and all your weird facebook acquaintances to suddenly feel like you're best buds. You guys will share everything together, do everything together, and just generally think the world of one another. Enjoy your new and beautiful friendship!]
S O R R O W
SCENARIO THREE: INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS
[You know that voice deep in the back of your head that you generally ignore? You know, the one that tells you that you're stupid or worthless or that you should push that old lady into traffic? Well, usually you ignore them- we know you do, because you're a decent person who doesn't experience that kind of self doubt.
Now, though, all those little voices seem to have some merit. You're not sure why, but suddenly just giving into your weirdest impulses sounds like a good idea. You'll have to fight even harder to ignore them, particularly the ones that tell you to do something. What would that guy do if you just up and punched him in the face? What about if you just broke that chick's window? You'll have to find out!
Alternatively, all those thoughts about how lame you are and how you'll never succeed at anything are a bit more believable too. Hopefully you don't have too many of those- but hey, if you do then you can always drown your sorrows away at the local bar!]

If it had been England who was responsible for the assassination attempt-
Well. No matter for now. These beasts are far too close and her attentions must turn to survival, to the woman taking her hand. Instinct draws Mary to pull back, to snap before she thinks- ) Get off-
( Oh.
Oh.
She could be lying. But right now, when presented with a choice between this woman and the oncoming monsters- )
I- Alright.
( She forces herself to move, bare feet crunching into the streets of the city. It feels all sorts of wrong, but the sensations act as something to hold onto. Better that than the horrors of what she's just seen. )
Which way?
( If this woman can, indeed, get her to safety. )

There. [ She sighs, catching her breath. ] This is where most of the others are living. You should be safe here.
[ As safe as one can be in Hadriel, anyway. Dany's eyes fall on the stranger's bare feet and she frowns. ]
There are shops nearby, and you may be able to find something for your feet.

It's a funny concept, isn't it? They were safe in the throne room, fires burning, while the plague swept through the castle, killing far too many. She was supposed to be safe in the castle, until-
It hurts to think about that still. And right now she can't. Not with so much happening. A strange underground city, monsters, this young woman. This is where her thoughts need to be. )
We shall see. ( But her mouth spills a quick, curt comment at the idea of being safe anyway. So far in her life, nothing has been safe. Nowhere.
Inhale, Mary. There's more to consider. ) I thank you for your bravery.
( Like her manners. ) Had you not come along, I- Well. How might I repay you?

[ Dany smiles faintly, shaking her head. ]
You won't have to, though one day you may be able to help someone to safety just as I have. When I first arrived, I... was in a similar state.
[ And how many strangers had gone out of their way to aid her? The least she can do is try to help others, if possible. ]
I am Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen. May I ask your name?

Then this is not a dream.
( A nightmare. Is that better, or worse, to know that she'll wake up and still be in this same, strange city? She will no longer be at court, won't have to feel the eyes of people who know she's in mourning or walk the halls that remind her all too strongly of Francis.
But then, she is also no longer at court. And how will such a thing be received? The King of France is dead, and his wife - Queen of Scots - is missing. How could such a thing possibly be received well by anyone?
She cannot let this be known. Not yet. So for now, a smile, one that's easy due to all the relief, barely allowing the brief knit of her brows to come through. The woman's name, even the sounds which make up both it and her house, do not strike any sense of familiarity.
Neither do skeleton monsters, however. )
Mary Stuart, Q-
( No. Perhaps it's best she leaves the title for now. )
-- Quite the pleasure to meet you, my lady.
( She offers a brief bow of the head, hands folded together primly. )

[ She has been sure of that for some time, having spent months in Hadriel at this point. ]
And you, Lady Stuart. [ Better to assume a higher rank, here, than not. ] You are in good company.
[ She speaks similarly to the women of Westeros who are here, at least, and may be able to confide in Sansa and Margaery, if not Dany herself. ]
Can I help you to find more permanent shelter, or would you prefer to go your own way?
