test drive meme # 26
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open November 24th, and apps are open December 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
This time, the monsters are a bit more transparent, as the Door will bring in a few skeletons! Skeletons often accompany the fear of death and can such be found as entry-level monsters in many different stories and games of all kinds.
Skeletons are well... skeletons.... but they move around like they're still alive. Some of them use weapons to make you fear death by killing you, which is cool for them I suppose. They're not particularly smart and they can be tricked very easily, but once they hone in on a victim they won't rest until they make everyone else just as dead as they are.]

SCENARIO TWO: SQUAD GOALS
[Hey, look to the guy or gal to the left or right side of you. Did you guys just become best friends?
I think you did! For the next little while, you find yourself entering into these odd platonic relationships you'd never considered before. That guy who you kind of awkwardly made eye contact with at the grocery store last week? Best friends! The lady who's friends with your roommate's sister? Inseparable pals!
This event, based off of our recent event of the same name inspires you and all your weird facebook acquaintances to suddenly feel like you're best buds. You guys will share everything together, do everything together, and just generally think the world of one another. Enjoy your new and beautiful friendship!]
S O R R O W
SCENARIO THREE: INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS
[You know that voice deep in the back of your head that you generally ignore? You know, the one that tells you that you're stupid or worthless or that you should push that old lady into traffic? Well, usually you ignore them- we know you do, because you're a decent person who doesn't experience that kind of self doubt.
Now, though, all those little voices seem to have some merit. You're not sure why, but suddenly just giving into your weirdest impulses sounds like a good idea. You'll have to fight even harder to ignore them, particularly the ones that tell you to do something. What would that guy do if you just up and punched him in the face? What about if you just broke that chick's window? You'll have to find out!
Alternatively, all those thoughts about how lame you are and how you'll never succeed at anything are a bit more believable too. Hopefully you don't have too many of those- but hey, if you do then you can always drown your sorrows away at the local bar!]

[They seriously don't have time for this.
Okay. New plan. Time to put that Quantico training to good use. Kat takes a step back and studies the door, letting her brain do its thing and remember her training. She's not consciously aware of the thought process there, only asking herself, what would Bill do, to kick her mind into gear. She's not as strong as he is, but she's just as well trained.
Her body responds just beneath her level of awareness, almost of its own accord. Kat kicks the door at its weakest point; she doesn't kick it down (that'd be really cool if she could do that, but she's too tiny to manage it with a door this size), but she does dislodge it enough that they should be able to lift it out between the two of them.]
Okay okay come on let's go, hurry up hurry up, I don't wanna figure out how fast they can swing a sword at us.

[ Alana backed off from the door as soon as it seemed like this stranger was gonna kung fu it out of its hinges.
Not quite as dramatic, but close enough. She's quick to get back to the group effort.]
So, huh, care to tell me what the shit is going on? What is this place?!
no subject
[Sweet, the door's out of the way. Kat steps through the doorframe and appears to be ready to duck out--
And then she grabs Alana by the arm and yanks her in. No non-aggressor left behind.]
no subject
Thanks for the input, now do you have ANY idea where we're going?
no subject
[Which is nothing at all, except that they need to keep moving. She hears voices around the corner, dim echoes that sound like when Bill gives out orders on the field. Whether they're friend or foe, the're not in the colosseum, and that's good enough for Kat to want to follow them.
So she does, grabbing her gun out of its holster and taking the turn in a much less extra way than how she entered the house in Rhinebeck.]
We're clear. This way. Sounds like there are people out there, maybe friendlies?
[So reassuring, Kat.]
no subject
But while the weapon makes her unnerved, she's not stupid enough to make a big noise about it just yet. Priorities lie in getting out of this building and into a safe spot.]
Sure, if you want to risk it.
[she tries to get a look around the corner without giving away their position - or getting too close to the woman.]
How do we know they didnt put us in here in the first place?
no subject
[Kat's used to acting without having much of an idea what's going on. That's how life is when you can't remember anything a little more than a month old.
Anyway they make it outside, where the shouting becomes a lot clearer. Someone's giving orders to help the people inside.
Lowering her gun, Kat steps out into the city and looks back at the massive, crumbling walls of the colosseum.]
Okay. Now I have a moment so ask, what the hell.
no subject
Huh, yeah.
[Why is it so dark in here?
Did--did she get grabbed while she was sleeping or something? The tree would've sounded the alarm. She and Marko would've--
Oh god, where is he? If someone got in, did they--
Thoughts about her family run through her head. There's not enough of anything to make sense, which rarely makes for someone to wind down and relax.]
Who are you, anyway?
no subject
I'm Kat. [She relaxes a little, gun still in hand but now at her side. Okay, this girl's as confused as she is. Probably not a threat. Kat gives her a little smile.] You?
no subject
I'm--Alana.
Nice to meet you and all, but huh, did you just wake up in there too?
no subject
[Kat's not helping. That's part of her process, maybe. No, it kind of is. Sorry, she's just trying to stick with things she knows rather than wasting time on what she doesn't.]
no subject
The month thing doesn't really click with her, either, but she doesn't give it more than a passing though. ]
Well, pretty sure I was in bed with my husband before I woke up here, so unless someone knocked me out and left me in pajamas for a month, I think we're good.
[ With all the times she's been knocked out with spells and weird magical shit, I guess whoever got her her cut to the chase and just got her when she was already sleeping. ]
Huh, should we...ask someone?
