Test Drive Meme #27
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open December 25th, and apps are open January 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: DON'T FEED THE WILDLIFE
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
This time, the monsters are very large and very scary, with the crocodiles from Lake Placid, a 1999 movie that was about... well, giant crocodiles.
These critters are massive, measuring over 20 feet in length and full of raw power. They're capable of taking down bears, eating full cows, and decapitating unsuspecting victims. Despite their size, they are quite fast and could definitely take someone by surprise with their quick movement. Look out for those formerly-still ponds, they back a serious bite...]

SCENARIO TWO: SHINING, SHIMMERING, SPLASHING
[Everyone's gotta drink sometimes and when you're in a new environment, that dehydration is kicking in double. Unfortunately, the water in Hadriel right now is... tainted. Nothing about it tastes particularly off, but one drink of it and you'll find yourself with strange and unusual powers. These abilities aren't necessarily gamechangers, and they aren't the full power, but they're definitely there at your fingertips.
Give your friends nightmares, give your enemies a super strong punch to the jaw- the sky is the limit, but be careful for when it wears off and those you've affected seek their revenge with their own water-powered abilities. Maybe you should find the memory erasing pond...
This is a mini event, based off of our shining, shimmering, splashing event going on this month!]

SCENARIO THREE: HAIR OF THE DOG
[Were you partying last night, or are the gods just exceptionally cruel? Either way, you have what seems to be a killer hangover. Stomachaches, headaches, and general feeling like the undead- it's all happening and you're feeling the worst of it.
You're welcome to try and attempt your own hangover cures, but little seems to alleviate this. It just takes time, and maybe a friend or two to rub your back and make some food for you- that is, if you can keep it down. Or maybe your friends are in the same boat as you are and you need to commiserate. Either way, you're in for a hell of a day.
Maybe just take it easy for awhile.]
one.
Which means it takes just about all sorts of people, then -- whoever that's in control of this place, whether they stood a chance in the arena or not. His manner of dress is wholly unfamiliar to her, no recognition gleaned that would mark him in any part of history.
Stepping off the head of her last kill and flicking the last stops of blood from her blade, she sheathes it behind her back, sliding it into place underneath the shield. ]
I'll let you know when I find out. [ She frowns, looking around at the empty seats in the arena. ] Fights like these would draw an audience.
[ Bread and circuses. But all of this sits wrong; she looks back at him, curious. ] Where did they take you from?
no subject
To the question, he looks from the stands to her, his expression darkening.]
Gralea, in Niflheim. Being whisked away from that hellhole is something of a blessing.
[Of course, it hasn't actually occurred to him yet that this woman might not be from Eos at all, and would therefore have no idea what he's implying by that.]
And yourself?
no subject
You are from one of the nine realms? [ Interesting, she didn't think she would meet an inhabitant from that world; turns out this day is full of surprises. ] Paris, on Earth. I'm Diana.
no subject
[Paris, nor Earth, garner any recognition from him, either, despite being sure he's travelled the length and breadth of his world. Unfamiliar place names are the least of his worries, however.]
I am Ravus Nox Fleuret, of House Fleuret, High Commander of the Niflheim Imperial Army. [A beat, and then he corrects himself--] ...Former High Commander.
no subject
[ She's never heard of Eos or Astrals, but it is no less fascinating -- how often does one come across another who hails from a world completely unknown? That he used to be the High Commander of an imperial army is something of note; he must only have recently shed his title. Nobility as well, from the looks of it, and she nods in polite greeting. ]
We will have to exit this arena, Lord Fleuret. I believe we'll have a better chance of finding our answers outside these walls.
no subject
[He'll begin leading her towards the edge of the arena, trusting that she's competent enough to follow and keep up. The aggressive crocodiles will be paid no heed unless they stand in his way, in which case cutting them down will take little effort, so he resumes conversation.]
What is your role in-- 'Paris'? You appear to be a warrior of some skill. [But only some, because stars forbid Ravus ever gives anyone a straightforward compliment.]
no subject
I am the daughter of Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons of Themyscira. [ The warmth and wistfulness in her voice is unbidden; she hasn't been home in awhile. She doesn't expect the names to be familiar, but it helps to say it aloud, all the same. ] As for my role in the world of men, that's still a work in progress.
[ Two crocodiles surge out towards them from the side, roused by moving prey, she imagines, and doesn't miss a beat when she takes on the one nearest to her -- she trusts Ravus will make quick work of the other -- sidestepping swiftly and plunging her sword right down into the brain. A sharp twist, and the thing thrashes, going still by degrees. ]
You must have seen more than your fair share of war. [ Empires, after all, were not built on peace. ]
