Two quick points here as well:

1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: GOT ANY BREATH MINTS?
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

It looks like this time the Door is going for a little variety. You get to enjoy a couple kinds of chaos serpents, from the video game Hexen.

Chaos serpents are bipedal reptilian creatures with three horns, in two different colors. They can bite, as with most monsters, but the real threat is their breath weapons. The green ones spit powerful fireballs, while the brown ones spit clouds of poisonous gas. If you're lucky, they'll fight each other instead of you - but who ever gets lucky here?]

SCENARIO TWO: ONE MINUTE IN HEAVEN
[Remember that first rush of infatuation, when your heart beats fast and your cheeks get red and you feel like you could do anything - anything - to get your crush's attention? Maybe you don't. Maybe you're too level-headed for that. Well, not anymore.

Now, whenever you meet a new person, you feel one solid minute of the most intense crush you've ever had. Their hair! Those eyes! Those incredibly attractive arm muscles! That tinkling laugh! Maybe you're the type to get nervous, maybe you'll swallow seven packets of hot sauce to show how cool you are, maybe you'll just lay down your very best pickup lines. Maybe more than one of the above - there are so many ways to embarrass yourself in 60 seconds!

But then time's up, and your insta-crush is gone, and now you get to deal with the consequences. What did you say? What did you do? That laugh you thought was beautiful and tinkling turns out to be obnoxious and honking. Also, you're pretty sure you just hit on your neighbor. But hey... maybe they actually are pretty hot, and you just made the first move. It's possible!]

C O N F U S I O N

SCENARIO THREE: THE PITTER PATTER OF LITTLE FEET
[There you were, minding your own business, when you suddenly fell into a deep sleep. Not that you remember that - now all you remember is being a child, as your consciousness has taken the form of your younger self. Here's your opportunity to run around and get into all the trouble you could hope for!

Or maybe you didn't become a child - maybe someone else did. Did some random kid just run up to you, confused and a little scared, or possibly just obnoxious? It'd be nice of you to help them out. Unless you hate kids, and hey, who can blame you? They're loud and somehow their little hands always seem to be sticky. Still. Make sure they don't run straight into the monsters outside the city, all right?

This is a mini version of our Hope of a Child event this month.]

[ wow, he doesn't even need to be under some otherworldly spell to be this happy to see law. he's like, over the moon, because torao is just the best dude ever. The gods' powers are still taking some sort of effect on him, though. Luffy's always been susceptible to telepathic suggestion and mind control; with how the power of the gods were enough to affect a regular person, there's no way a simple-minded guy like Luffy would be spared.

He's always been a 'physical' sort of guy, lugging his friends around with little care for their comfort or personal space. He's the affectionate sort, too. This affectionate, though? For some reason he wants to keep Law in his horrifying, anaconda-coil of a rubber grip, and he doesn't feel compelled to let go.

You know Luffy. When he doesn't feel like doing something, he just doesn't do it. ]

Torao! Oh man, am I happy to see you!! You're the first person I've found so far! [ To make matters worse, he's just going to talk to him like nothing is wrong with what he's doing. ]

[What a re-introduction. Law feels like he really should be slightly more surprised but he's really not. He's just going to go with it, because he's not impervious to certain effects himself (much to his later chagrin)]

Lucky me. How did you get all the way up there?

I climbed, of course. This doesn't look like Whole Cake Island at all, but I wanted to be sure, so I went looking for the tallest cake building! [ Whole Cake Chateau, he means. It is obviously not Whole Cake Island, but he at least deserves some props for figuring that out on his own. ]

And then, I found you instead. I sure am lucky~! [ Still sitting on Law, he starts to pat him cheerfully. While he means well, his pats sometimes come harder than intended. ]

Wait a second, am I in Wano?!? [ Since ... Law is here ... and from what he remembers, Law went to Wano?! ]

[with his arms pinned by the rubber anaconda, all Law can do is snarl at him. Seriously, though, that deserves a smack.]

Does this look like Wano?!

[although, he's never been to Whole Cake either so it's not like he knows what it looks like. Ahem. Ow. Don't pat him there.]

This is a different world entirely. We've been kidnapped.

[ He doesn't know what Wano looks like either! But it's probably cooler than this. ]

Kidnapped, huh ... [ That doesn't phase or concern him at all. ]

Hold on -- a different world?! [ This would be kind of cool in a normal circumstance, because it means more places to explore, but he doesn't have most of his crew and he needs to stop the wedding too! This isn't good at all! ]

[that one minute sure has worn off by now. Law is taking a much more active role in trying to shove Luffy off him so he can sit up and compose himself. God, it's not like he's happy to see you or anything]

Yes, that's what I said. There's a lot to explain. If you get off me and let me get my phone...

Hm? Oh... [ He hadn't even noticed their positions. He sure is feeling less touchy-feely right now, so he complies much easier. Rocking to the side, he draws back his stretchy limbs and rolls off. ]

You should have said so earlier. You let me hug you for so long, I thought you liked it. [ Smack him, Law. He deserves it. Luffy's not even questioning why he wanted to hold on to Law for so long...It doesn't cross his mind at all. ]

[the only reason Law recoils and even blushes a little, first, is because for a second there he did like it. But he's not used to the gods' effects only lasting for a literal minute so first there's flailing and garbling and then he takes a swing at Luffy's head]

I did not! You're seeing things if you think I liked it! Augh, why me?

[gets up, brushing off his jeans. He's already forgotten what they were talking about, though really, getting Luffy to read the file on his phone will probably be a lost cause anyway.]

Don't ever do that again. Next time I might have to kill you for it.

Yeah, yeah. [ That hurts because it's a fist of love, but Luffy also allows himself to get smacked. He even looks amused. There's no way this guy would actually kill him. They're friends!

He sure is making an interesting face though. ] Hey, are you going red?

[see, calling attention to it just makes it even worse]

No! Shut up. Just. You saw nothing. You see nothing. There's not a damn thing going on. [huff huff pout]

[ ... He's just going to laugh at him, like Law is doing a comedy skit or something. ] N'YAHAHAHA! You've got such a funny face right now! Stop making me laugh, Torao!

[ He's really not ... making you laugh on purpose, Loofy... ]

[ugh fuck his life. seriously. Fine, he'll turn around, then you can't see his face so there.]

...? [ Damn. Law has a point. Luffy immediately snaps out of it, wiping the laughter-tears from his eyes and jumping to his feet. ]

You're right! I need to wreck the wedding! Sanji wants to save his family, and I gotta help them! Enough messing around, Torao! [ Law was not -- messing around... ]

Do you know how to get back to our world?

In theory. But it can't be done right now.

[he thumbs over his shoulder toward the coliseum somewhere over that way] The Door that brings everyone in supposedly is how we get out, but we have no control over it. Relax, you're not missing out on anything. It'll all be there when we get back.

[given how unconcerned he is about his own crew or his ship packed with so many annoying guests, he must be telling the truth. What's the use freaking out if he'll just go back to that moment?]

[ Honestly, if Law says that, then it's probably true. The guy's pretty smart. Luffy trusts his input the way he trusts that of Nami or Robin or all the other people in his crew. ]

Oh, that's a relief. But what do you mean? They're all going to wait for me to come back? [ That doesn't make ... much sense. ]

Something like that. The Door is a place in time as well as space. At least, so I'm told - I haven't witnessed it for myself but people have said it's true.

[anything more complicated than that is going to go right over Luffy's head, he knows, so he's not even going to try]

I don't get it, but if you say it'll be fine then it'll probably be fine. [ Look at this trust he has in you, Law. ]

Can't we just find this door and jump back out?

It isn't an actual door. So...no. I've been here six months and I haven't seen anything like it.

Exactly. See? Time passes differently here. So, whatever happens with Black Leg-ya, it won't be affected. I'm sure you can still go and mess up a wedding or whatever you said it was.

I see. In that case, that's fine then! I was getting worried there! [ He doesn't know exactly how it all works, but he finally understands Law's meaning. It seems like whatever's happening back home will be put on hold until they find a way to return! That means that he can still crash the wedding, and Sanji will be just fine. ]

Hmm, but if even you can't find the way out, it looks like we're in a real pinch here.

[it's been worse! But yeah, it's kinda hot and dusty and gross.]

But then, I have no doubts that you'll make the most of it. It's a different kind of adventure, for the time being.

[ His eyes seem to glimmer when he hears Law say that. It's like he took the words right out of his mouth. Now that he doesn't have the pressing worry of Sanji's situation looming over him, he can relax and explore this new land like his adventurous spirit is calling him to do. ] You said it! This place is kinda dark and weird, but I saw some strange beasts just now. I can't wait to see what other things I'll find here. Ready for an adventure --!!
