Test Drive Meme #32

Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open May 25th, and apps are open June 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.

Two quick points here as well:
1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: HONK HONK
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

Hope you're not afraid of clowns!

Evil Clowns have been a terror on the imagination of children everywhere, and show up enough times in literature for us to reasonably say that plenty of adults are afraid of them too. While they love to laugh, they often bring themselves joy by murdering others and slicing them up with the sharp knives and other torture devices that they have tucked away in their seventeen pockets.

It's not difficult to outrun them, as they have big, squeaky shoes, but it might be difficult to fight them- these bastards are hardy!]

SCENARIO TWO: MISSING SOMETHING?
[You may arrive in Hadriel... well, incomplete. Though some may reassure you that it's temporary, there's still something terrifying in suddenly losing your sight or your hearing... or even you arm!

While this event does not affect memories, it does affect body parts, senses, and potentially powers and abilities. You may find yourself unable to do things you once did, or behave the way you normally do.

This is a mini version of our Senses Fail event this month.]

SCENARIO THREE: MAY FLOWERS
[You're in a beautiful garden. The sun is shining, the grass is green, and there are hundreds of thousands of flowers all around you. The temperature is just perfect, and above all else, it's satisfying.

Maybe you should pick some flowers for a friend, or your mother- you did skip mother's day, after all. Luckily, there's a few cutting shears to go around and you're more than welcome to start hacking away at these thistley bushes! Hopefully you know a thing or two about flower arranging- maybe that person over there is more experienced?]

[ Jane's in a place she isn't sure of, she's meeting people that she feels clueless about, but she nods slowly. What else is she supposed to do? She can't speak, she can't get into deep conversation. Gesturing in a 'lead the way' motion, she begins writing even as they walk. ]

Where are we? How did I get here?

[ everyone more or less figures it out as they go. there's no other choice, really. can't go home. can't go anywhere except Hadriel. she was just as disoriented when she arrived. at least there's now people who know what's going on.

she nods at the questions. ]

We've been told it's called Hadriel. How you got here is more complicated. There's a Door, people like us come in along with mutts from different universes. The Door only works one way. Why you're here is a very long story, but as far as we can tell none of us were handpicked and we just happened to win this crappy lottery. Congratulations.

[ She has to write everything, so she wants to pick her words carefully as she takes all of that in. Long stories should probably be told when she can react and actually speak to ask questions. ]

Are we in danger?
64th: (love the view up here.)

[personal profile] 64th 2018-06-13 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[ good question. after a moment, she shakes her head. ] No, not really. Dangerous things happen, but there's not a permanent state of danger.

I've got your back if we run into anything. I promise.

I'm ex-military.

[ Which she says not to impress, but to make sure her new acquaintance knows she can pull her weight if need be, too. They can get each other's backs. As they walk, she can't help but be curious. ]

How long have you been here?
64th: (My grandma calls me pineapples)

[ She looks up from the note and grins. ] "Excellent. Glad to have someone with some experience."

[ At first, Cashmere doesn't want to answer the question and she's sure the hesitation shows on her face. It freaks people out to know how long she's been in Hadriel. Honestly, it freaks her out too. ]

"I've been here about two and a half years. I was somewhere else kind of like this for a about a year before I came here." [ she smiles, and it's a little sad. ] "I haven't been home in a long time, for better or worse."

[ Jane swallows heavily, trying to process that. Could she handle being separated from Kurt for God knows how long? She tries putting on a brave face because it won't do her any good to panic in front of the person leading her to the hospital. ]

I'm Jane. From New York.
64th: (if i had a mic right now i'd drop it)

I'm Cashmere, from Panem. Sorry we couldn't meet under better circumstances.

[ most days she considers Hadriel to be the better circumstances. Panem isn't anywhere she wants to return to. ]

Don't worry. Everything going to be okay. Probably not great but definitely tolerable. People are well taken care of here.
