The (Modified) Hearts + TL;DR CR Meme!

The (modified) Hearts Meme + The TL;DR CR Meme

Welcome to another combo meme! This meme is one parts my modified version of the hearts meme, and another part the tl;dr CR meme.

  • Comment with your characters.
  • Others comment with appropriate hearts for how their character feels about yours.
  • If desired, ask for tl;dr CR at the same time/instead of hearts!
  • If asked for tl;dr, respond with however much you'd like to write about the CR between the two characters.
  • Profit!
  • Have fun everyone!

  • As a note, remember that you can change the alt text so that the hearts say different things when you hover your mouse over them. Look for title="" in the code you are copy and pasting, and change the text between the quotation marks to whatever you like!

This meme has been modified from it's original format to add more hearts, so be sure to read the descriptions! Also feel free to suggest more heart categories~

    I would like!

Adam has difficulties with people, he's polite but distant, he has no problem talking to them but it's very hard for him to trust anyone or let them close to him. Somehow that has happened naturally with Arya, and he's probably closer to her than he is to anyone else he's met here. There's a lot about her that's familiar, and while he doesn't like seeing that because he knows it means she's been through a lot of shit she didn't deserve, it makes it easier for him to talk to her and relate to her.

He hasn't opened up to her as much as he could - mostly what he's talked about are either general things that reflect the shittiness they've both been through, or the nice things about his world like helicopters. That's on purpose. Adam tends to both downplay his own abuse to himself (telling himself it's not as bad as things that happen to other people, so there's no point talking about it) and to just flinch from talking about it, because it's so personal and he frankly doesn't want to. So while Arya is easily the person he'd be most likely to tell (he hasn't told anyone in Hadriel anything about his life except bare details, yet), he thinks she deserves better than to have to listen to his unpleasant story, when she's been through much worse. Still, on some level Adam is aware that keeping these things a secret is why it's so difficult for people to get close to him. If the subject comes up naturally, or if she asks, he would probably be willing to open up more to her than to anyone else.

Also, the fact that she's able to sometimes convince him to drop everything and do dumb fun things like snowball fights is a gift. Ronan's about the only other one who's good at that, and there hasn't been much opportunity for it recently. Adam desperately needs to have more fun and relax a little more often, and when he's with her he can tell himself that obviously he's doing it because she deserves to have fun and play like a kid, and then they both profit and Adam doesn't feel like he's being immature or ignoring his responsibilities.

I debated for about five minutes before deciding not to give Arya the family heart. Not because she isn't basically the little sister he never had, but because he doesn't consciously think that. Family for Adam has always been painful and fraught, he's never had a family bond that didn't hurt him in some way. Arya has never done that, and Adam doesn't think that she ever would, so it's hard for him to fit her into his own unfortunately unpleasant concept of family. If he's ever able to get to a place where he can think of family without feeling lonely and frightened and tense, he would think of her as a sister, but as it is - she deserves far better than to ever be considered part of the Parrish family, even metaphorically.
