Test Drive Meme #33
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open June 24th, and apps are open July 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: WEARS HIGH HEELS WHEN SHE EXERCISES
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
And this one is, well, particularly creepy. Especially if you dislike body horror, or spiders, or being eaten. This time, the Door has brought in Virginias, from the video game The Forest.
Virginias are rather disturbing-looking monsters, looking a bit like multiple bodies all squished together. They move quickly, they can charge and leap at you, and those creepy arms and legs hurt like hell. They also make skittering noises, if you want to be even more creeped out. So have fun with that!]

SCENARIO TWO: YES, LIKE THAT
[Today, it's you time. You woke up this morning and you knew it was the perfect day to practice a little self-care. To put yourself first. To treat yourself. And that's what you're going to do!
Whether that means drinking too much, skipping out on unwanted obligations, telling people what you really think of them, or eating that last donut - you're looking after you now, and it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks! All that matters is that you're happy. So party on, and let's hope your fun doesn't get in the way of anyone else's life.
This is a mini version of our Love Yourself event this month.]
R A G E
SCENARIO THREE: JUST ONE OF THOSE DAYS
[This morning you didn't wake up wanting to treat yourself. Oh, no. You woke up wanting to show your anger - to the world, to yourself, to anyone watching. You want to break shit, start fights, get into pointless internet arguments. They're wrong, after all.
So why not? Find a stray piece of wood and start smashing windows. Tell someone you don't like the way they're looking at you. Post something incendiary on
Let's just hope you don't go too far.]

I wanted to see the island from a higher vantage point.
[Not that this one is super high, and not that that wasn't a secondary objective anyway, but it's still true for the most part.]
But I didn't mean to trespass. If you'd like me to leave, I'll do so.
no subject
You will find a better vantage point on the Guard's watchtower. The view from it is optimal for surveying every corner of the island, though I would recommend that you speak with the Guard before using it.
The weather is likely to turn at any moment. [And when it does, he will not be content to simply leave the young man to the mercy of the elements.] Would you like to come inside?
no subject
I will, thanks.
[As for the weather, Connor could mention that it doesn't bother him, but he won't for a few reasons. He's much more interested in figuring out more about Oscar at the moment, and so decides to go along with the whole thing.]
I'd like to, yes.
[He's not sure what exactly this building is, so he's curious about that too, and climbs back down the side of it without further comment. Once he drops the last few feet and steps closer to the Oscar, though, he's talking again.]
Forgive me for stating the obvious, but you're not human. It seems most of those here are.
[And so he's very interested in hearing more about what Oscar is, and what Connor might be able to learn about how the social structure of this place works in regards to human or not.]
no subject
The statement, obvious though it might be, does give Oscar pause. He has thought about this.]
The point of entry through which we arrived has been said to draw in those that share some association with chaos; whether that is chaos in a general sense or specific to an individual's circumstances can vary. Most worlds of interest to our captors are primarily inhabited by humans, including my own.
no subject
He won't dwell on that for now, though, waiting for Oscar to lead the way, considering briefly how to respond. He doesn't want to give away too much, after all.]
And the theory is that primarily human populations are more chaotic than some alternatives?
[He can't exactly argue with that, even if he wanted to. Humans have quite the history, after all.]
no subject
[Oscar would normally wait until someone moves and then follow in their step, but seeing as it is now starting to drizzle, he turns into the building and stands by the wide open doors, gesturing for the man to enter first.]
no subject
Instead, he considers the response and its implications, deciding to ask in a tone of light curiosity--]
What about you, then? If you were brought here instead of a human from your world, does that mean you have the personal agency they need?
[What's the situation with beings like Oscar, where Oscar comes from?]
no subject
Other than the two vehicles, tools lie across a set of tables pushed against the wall. In the corner by the entrance is a free-standing table with a group of chairs surrounding it. A copy of the most recent map available of the archipelago is marked with small circles and X's; they are still in the process of plotting out the best locations for a fire station on each island.]
The fact I am here is infallible proof that the energy I provide for them satisfies their requirements.
no subject
The sight of firetrucks is definitely not what he expected in a place like this; where did they get them, and how often do they need them? It shows some resourcefulness for sure, and some organization judging by what looks like a map on the table in the corner, all of which are nice to see.
Connor is silent for a few moments as he considers what to say, before deciding to go with something that might lead to a little information.]
So it is. I'm sorry for any offense; it's currently a very contentious topic in my world whether nonhuman individuals can or can't feel emotion, so I was curious.
[It's all true, if leaving out the detail of being one of those 'nonhuman individuals' himself.]
no subject
[Oscar has encountered his fair share of nonhuman individuals here; not all of them are artificial creations of man.]
no subject
[But not necessarily others, and who knows if it might be offensive, so he'd been more general.]
no subject
As for myself, I'm what is known as an automaton.
[There is only one term in this case that Oscar finds offensive, and that is the word 'robot'.]
