Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open July 25th, and apps are open August 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.

Two quick points here as well:

1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: OOZES GEOMETRICALLY
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

The only warning you may get is the squish slick sound of movement before a gelatinous cube is upon you. Leaving gross trails behind them and with their see-through bodies filled with the bones of those that they've dissolved in their jelly, these cubes have no real vulnerability other than their limited movement.

Gelatinous cubes are exactly what it says on the tin, giant translucent cubes of jelly whose main attack tactic seems to be cornering people in small hallways and just sort of absorbing them into its mass. They then digest all meat and flesh and leave only floating bones and various metals their victim may have been wearing stashed inside of their jiggling forms.

Maybe it's time to apologize for the last time you brought a jelly mold to a potluck.]

SCENARIO TWO: MY LOYAL SERVANTS
[Thanks for your service to the gods! In order to power each of them up, it's up to you to pick a deity you like most (or dislike least, as it were) and simply say their name in order to be influenced by them and encouraged to inspire their emotion in others!

What, you don't want to play? Too bad, accidental name calling works just as well, even if you didn't mean to incite them- you'll feel their presence pulling their chosen emotion out in you anyway. Hope you picked a good one!

C O N F U S I O N

SCENARIO THREE: I MISS GPS
[Sure, you might be a little confused at being here at first, but that generally goes away within a few days. This time... well, this time, that feeling of befuddlement isn't quite going away. Roads that you take seem to disappear behind you when you turn around, your right turns are left turns on the map you're following, and you're pretty sure that everyone except for you put their shirt on backwards this morning.

Is everyone high? What they're saying makes absolutely no sense to you. You can't find your way out of a paper bag, let alone back to where you've been staying lately. Is that a dog or is it an eldritch horror coming up to lick at your calves?

During this prompt, everything will feel off and it can be very difficult to get your bearings at all. That's Confusion for you!]

[ooops, she didn't mean to startle him! it's only that she's been flying in circles all day long, looking for something which looked familiar. and she bows back. her time serving as her mother's assistant has taught her that it's generally a good idea to do what aliens do for a greeting in return]

Um. I think it was Spire Four on the West Island. Or was it Spire Two on the North Island? [in a rush] I honestly don't remember. I just arrived and everything's been happening so quickly, I've hardly had time to catch my breath.

[bythewaves]

[ He smiles at the rapid patter ]

Ah. It can be rather confusing - and those are in two very different locations! Well, why don't we walk over to West Island's Spire Four, and take a look? If it looks familiar, good and well - if not, I suppose you will have to try the other!

[unphase]

[she smiles back, a little uncertainly. everything here is so strange and the technology is positively ancient!]

Yes, everything here looks alike and yet so unfamiliar. I've never seen buildings like these on any of the planets I've been to. It's all truly alien.

You are a world traveller in your own right then? How marvelous! I did not know folk with such abilities existed, before coming here.

[ He smiles at her ]

Tis no hardship, I assure you! We are all adrift here, eh? Some of us are just a little longer resident. Well met, Tinya Wazzo. Maglor, at your service.

[unphase]

Yes. I've spent the past few years on Earth, but my homeworld is Bgztl. It's a planet in perfect sync with Earth's rotational axis and path around the sun, but it's in another dimension. And there are a lot of people here who have space travel?

[she smiles back.

but at the mention of others being longer residents she frowns slightly] Do you know how long people have been coming here, or how long is the usual stay? [but she remembers her manners at the introduction] I'm pleased to meet you, Maglor. Thank you for your help.

[bythewaves]

Bgztl. [ He says it slowly, fumbling the word a little ] I fear I did not understand many of those words!

Planet... is a world, yes? But what is dimension?

[unphase]

[she looks apologetic] Oh, wow, I'm sorry. I keep forgetting that I'm the only one from the 30th century.

Yes, a planet is a world. And a dimension is. . . we live in three dimensions. We have length, breadth, and height. Bgztl is in the fourth dimension which is imperceptible which isn't visible to, well, anyone who's not from Bgztl. Between Earth and Bgztl is the buffer zone, where we physically go when we phase.

[bythewaves]

I'm afraid I don't know your dating conventions either. [ He says apologetically ] But I assume that is very far forwards in time?

Ah! I see. So the fourth dimension then is... time? [ He asks curiously ] How does that work?

[unphase]

Most people from Earth that I've met seem to be from the early 21st century so, yeah, it's pretty far forward in time.

[she smiles and shakes her head no] It's actually space. We're in the same position as Earth, but the spacial plane is different.

[bythewaves]

How strange! It sounds very much beyond what I know, I fear. As to time, I am quite a bit behind! For me, it is the end of the Third Age of the Sun - how that would translate into your terms I know not, but I imagine it is fairly far behind.

[unphase]

It's weird to most people not from Bgztl, so don't worry. [she repeats thoughtfully] The end of the Third Age of the Sun. It sounds pretty? That's assuming there's a Fourth Age.

[bythewaves]

There is - it has only just begun! But it will, I hope be a good one, although only time will tell. It begins in peace though, hard won though it has been!

[unphase]

Has there ever been a peace that hasn't been hard won? Even the United Planets has. . . problems. [problems like the Daxamites and the White Triangle spreading their philosophy of hate and division]

[bythewaves]

True. Perhaps we only understand the value of peace when we struggle first.

[unphase]

If that's true, then the United Planets should know the value of peace for a long time.

What about your world?

[bythewaves]

May it be so! In ours... ai! I do not know. I hope, that the King's Peace will be long, now that the Enemy is overthrown. But there will be another, in time, of that I am sure. Men forget, sadly. Aragorn will bring back the light - he is the very culmination of all our hopes. But he is one Man, and though long his days will be, a Man he remains. When he takes the Gift and goes on, Arwen will follow him, and his children will be left to make their own way. Who is to tell how long before they forget? Five generations? Ten? But for a while, at least, we will know peace.

[unphase]

If there's one thing I've learned in the Legion, it's that there's never a shortage of beings looking to start trouble. Maybe your world will be lucky and they'll wait a while, but they're out there.

[bythewaves]

Even so. [ He sighs softly, something melancholy in his eyes ]

Too deep has the Marring gone, in mine! Ever will Evil rise again, but so too, I hope, will be those to stand against it.
