Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open August 25th, and apps are open September 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.

Two quick points here as well:

1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: GET YOUR RED CAPE READY
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

And they sure are big boys. Big and easily angered and ready to run right over you. This time, the Door has brought in Brontos, from the video game Dragon Age.

Brontos are large oxen-like beasts, though more sure-footed due to spending all their time in caves underground. There are domesticated brontos, bred to haul and be ridden and eaten... but these aren't those. These brontos are wild, one and all, and they are skittish and large and perfectly capable of running you over. Maybe just keep your distance.]

SCENARIO TWO: DESERTED
[You're alone. Completely alone, as far as you can tell. Nothing here works - oh, there's food in the stores, sure, but the water's not running, the electricity isn't working. There's not a soul on the streets, where you would normally expect to see at least a few people here and there.

So what will you do? Smash windows and grab food from the stores? (Well, the doors are all unlocked, but hey, who doesn't love smashing windows.) Shout in the streets in hopes someone will hear? Curl into a ball and cry? All valid choices. But then, what will you do when you do find someone, after thinking you were all alone? Someone you like, someone you hate, a complete stranger?

This is a mini version of our Deserted event this month.]

SCENARIO THREE: ONE MORE CHANCE
[You can't stop thinking about the one who got away. They've been on your mind - well, it feels like forever, but maybe it's only been a few days. A few hours. But you can't stop thinking about them and regretting what could have been.

Maybe it's a failed romance. Maybe a broken friendship. Maybe a family member who walked away - or who you walked away from. Even a business partner who things ended poorly with. Whatever it was, you regret how things went down. If only you had another chance, a chance to fix things!

And then, there they are. The person you've been thinking of. What will you do? Beg forgiveness? Make amends? Run away? Make your decision and take action, because as soon as you do it you might realize it was never that person at all. You might have just poured out your heart and begged forgiveness from a complete stranger.]

[unphase]

[Tinya blinks in confusion and takes a look around herself. there's no one else but her and this stranger, so she doesn't know who Sophia might be or why he thinks he's seeing her.

the fifteen year old girl pauses when she sees the crossbow, but it's not like she can't just phase away if he fires it at her. so she approaches carefully, as she would with an animal she wasn't sure about, and she raises her hands to show that she's no threat]

I'm not Sophia. Where do you think she is?

[dadyl]

[ The moment she denies being Sophia the illusion melts away, and Daryl is left standing there, blinking in astonishment at a different girl a few years older than the one he's looking for. What the fuck? He jerks back in surprise, instinctively raising the crossbow to defend himself from this new insanity. Is it him? Is he still seeing things? Is he going crazy? Did the fall down the ravine rattle him even more badly than he thought? ]

W-who the hell are you? [ He blurts it out more loudly than he means to, his grip on the bow shaking a little. He's exhausted and hurt and still bleeding, and now his head is spinning on top of it all. He's so tired of seeing things that aren't real. ]

I don't know where she is, that's why I been lookin' for her! She went missin' from our group. [ But he has no group here, and losing what he had only briefly somehow makes him feel even more alone. ]

[unphase]

[when he raises the crossbow, she phases, turning herself intangible. it's obvious that this person is feeling paranoid and shaken by his new environment. she honestly can't say that she blames him. this place has a nasty tendency towards playing with people's minds]

I'm Tinya Wazzo. What's your name? [she smiles and tries to seem as nonthreatening as possible. this person looks like he's been through something bad, she can relate to that]

I could help you look for her if you want? [she'd understand feeling alone. she's used to being among her friends in the Legion, coming here by herself was a huge, unpleasant shock]

[dadyl]

[ She introduces herself so bluntly and simply, as though everything is totally normal, that even that confuses Daryl. He falters, letting the nose of the crossbow dip towards the ground, but he doesn't drop it completely. ]

Daryl. [ Last names have seemed pointless to him for a while now, so he doesn't offer anything more, still not sure where he is. ]

I don't... I don't know why she'd be here. I don't even know why I'm here! [ The stress of it all is still in his voice, the confusion from being in one dangerous place, a place that at least he knew and understood, and then suddenly in another, stranger, impossibly odd place. He feels like he's been cosmically fucked with. ] What the hell is this place? Where'd you come from?

[unphase]

[things are far from normal for her. she thinks she's a thousand years and several dimensions away from home and she has no idea how long she'll be trapped in this strange place. but acting as though the sky is falling won't do anyone any good.

she notices him let the crossbow falter, but she remains phased. just to be on the safe side]

It's nice to meet you, Daryl.

[uh-oh. it seems like no one's told him what's going on yet. she's probably not the best person to do this as she's only been here a month, but she'll do her best. even though, yes, he has been cosmically fucked with]

This place is called Hadriel. It has something called the Door which takes people from various worlds and abandons us here. [a note of bitterness enters her voice] Our emotions serve as food to aliens calling themselves gods. And me? I'm from Bgztl, originally, but I was living on Earth when I came here.

[dadyl]

Can't really say likewise, given... [ He gestures around himself, indicating their situation.

But then Daryl's eyebrows shoot up like she's just told him she believes that the moon is made out of cheese. Okay, so this girl is crazy. Downright batshit. That's going to make his life a little harder in the short-term, he thinks. She's too young to leave out here on her own, even if she is nuts, and he drops his bow the rest of the way, shouldering it. ]

Okay. Right. [ He says it like someone might agree with a raving lunatic on a street corner. ] Aliens, huh? And you're from... Right. [ He starts to smile despite himself though, because at least what she's saying is breaking his angry, frustrated, frightened mood. The conviction with which she says it is almost funny, and he catches himself halfway on the way to nervous laughter. ]

There any hospitals left around here? 'Cause if they ain't full of walkers yet like everywhere else, I think you should be in there.

[unphase]

I understand.

[she unphases when he shoulders the crossbow. but she's not crazy, although she'd understand why someone from Earth of an earlier century would think she was. it used to take months to travel from planet to planet and a tremendous amount of fuel. that's all moot now, but it wasn't too long ago that people never met anyone who wasn't from their own planet]

Yes, aliens. Most of them appear human, but I've heard that one of them shows itself as a pink cloud. And yes, I'm from Bgztl. It's a planet in perfect rotational and orbital sync with Earth, only in another dimension. [and she's completely sincere in what she says]

There's a Clinic, though I don't know why I should be there. But, what's a walker?
