test drive meme # 38
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open November 24th, and apps are open December 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC MOTHERFUCKER
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
Of course, a War Unicorn may not seem too lethal, but anyone who's seen Cabin in the Woods knows that they pack a powerful, uh, stab (cw for gore). War Unicorns are mighty beasts, larger than most horses and made of raw muscle. They might seem cute and cuddly in concept, but they're trained to use their horns to blind their opponents before trampling over them with their ironclad hooves and their two thousand pound bulk.
Want to try to bring one down? It's harder than it looks, thanks to their natural magic resistance- many offensive abilities and spells simply don't work on them, and you might piss them off if you try, so be careful...]

SCENARIO TWO: REMEMBER ME
[It may have just been a brush against the shoulder, a quick handshake, a simple hug- but at the first touch of skin on skin, suddenly you see the other person's memories. This can range anywhere from a recent moment to something traumatic from their past and can be done willingly, if you like.
Of course, once you realize what's going on, you might want to bundle up and avoid contact with everyone- though you might look a little strange, so don't be surprised if someone asks you what you're doing!
This is a mini version of our Memories Past event this month.]

SCENARIO THREE: PASS THE TURKEY
[It's that special time of year again, where you get to hang out with people you only kinda sorta know and catch up with every other month or so and pretend that you're all really close for the sake of food.
Because of course, there's a splendid feast waiting for you- juicy turkey and warm stuffing and your very favorite potato dish! The only downside is that you have to spend your evening with these losers, but we're sure you'll find something to talk about!
Well- maybe not religion, relationships, or politics. How 'bout that weather we're having?]
no subject
Listening to the words at face value, from anyone else, she might not believe. But she is Galadriel, and can sense no lie. And as strange as it sounds, the words seem to fit with what she has seen and felt from the world around them.
Very. Very. Very strange.
...And when Maglor speaks of Curufin, she also senses the lack of painful worry that she would expect around that particular Feanorion. She will still be watching, but beyond that she has yet to decide.
Eventually she inclines her head a little, settling the cloak around her. "I will go with you."
no subject
He relaxes, when she agrees - he knows, of course, that she can take care of herself. But she's still one of his only kin left alive, and he feels, on some odd level, responsible.
"Our hosts here have strange powers - like the Valar themselves they seem. But they are immature and unwise, and seem to understand and care little for us beyond that we supply their needs."
no subject
Being able to take care of herself, and letting pride get in the way of accepting what extra measures of defense is something she would like to say she's outgrown.
But the truth of it is she doesn't know this world, plus the fact she feels she needs to keep a close eye on her relatives.
...And they are kin. Regardless of the horrors they'd done.
Maglor's information has her eyes narrow. "What do they need of us?"
no subject
"Food." He says grimly. "They feed on emotion, and find us... very tasty."
no subject
They'll last longer.
Her eyes flash with swiftly suppressed anger and disgust.
"How many are there?"
no subject
"Enough. Not all are active, but I have seen Rage, Hope, Love, Fear, Confusion, Sorrow and Tranquility. There was another, but she betrayed us to the Null, their enemy, who wish to remove all emotion."
no subject
"You trust these beings?" Her voice is almost amused, though more disgusted (and a bit disdainful) with what she's hearing. "You, the last of your brothers?" Yup, just driving that point in a bit. She'll leave off soon.
....Maybe.
no subject
His smile at her is as sharp as her own. "Of course not. But I trust the Null even less. They wish to eradicate all emotion, and that means they wish to eradicate us. Our hosts, at the least, need us alive. I trust them that much."
no subject
Neither of them like being held captive, after all. "These Null will have their hands full in this attempt of theirs." And their 'hosts', of course.
How much emotion until they keel over or give up and send them all home...? She wonders~
no subject
"Even so." he smiles to see her own response.
"I have a bet with cousin Fingon, you know. Kindly don't break the world, while you're breaking out."
no subject
...Damnit Maglor, stop making it hard not to like you!
The admission earns a curious little smirk. "Oh? And if I don't?" Because she makes no promises for no reason.
But also she's not of Feanor's get so why would she purposely destroy a world just because she'd been brought to it against her will?
no subject
"I'm not allowed to tell you, obviously!" He grins shyly at her. "That would prejudice the bet."
He doesn't really think she'd break the world. .....the DOOR on the other hand...
no subject
Well. The Door's days are numbered because of the miscalculation of bringing Galadriel here.
Her eyes narrow at him again, though there's a definite (if somewhat unwilling) glint of humor in them. "Then I will tell you nothing should I make any plans thus."
no subject
"Thank you for your indulgence." He twinkles at her. "But come - we keep the kitchen warm, and it will be out of the wind."
no subject
If she were any less than who she is, he'd get an eye roll. But she is Galadriel, and old enough she feels she doesn't need to.
He still gets the exasperated impression.
"Lead on." She really does dislike this cold wind.
no subject
He leads her back to the elfhouse, where, as promised, the kitchen is warm and cosy. She'll note the wards too - very simple ones, compared to the vast net around Doriath long ago, or Lothlorien. But familiar - Elrond, after all, had a hand in designing them.
