Two quick points here as well:
1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

SCENARIO ONE: HE MADE HIS LIST
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

You were hoping for something seasonally appropriate, right? Well, the Door doesn't know it's December, so this must be a coincidence - because this time, it's brought in the Krampus.

This creature is the opposite of Santa, and if you've been bad (and let's be real, who in Hadriel hasn't), it'll be all too happy to punish. Maybe you'll get lucky and it'll just scare the crap out of you and give you some coal... or maybe it'll decide your punishment needs to be much, much worse. Don't you wish you'd been good this year?]

SCENARIO TWO: HADRIELITE VANDAL
[Last night everything was fine. You went to bed happy and content - well, as happy and content as you ever are. But this morning, as you stepped out of your house, something was wrong. Maybe you didn't notice it at first - maybe someone had to point it out to you. But there it was, in big bold letters: someone had painted an insult across the front of your house.

Maybe it's a rude name. Maybe an insulting comment. Maybe just a picture of a dick with an arrow pointing to it that says your name. Whatever it is, someone did it specifically to fuck with you. But who? And why? Maybe you already think you know who, and all you need to do is hunt them down. Or maybe it's time for an investigation. Or... maybe all you want to do is clean it off before someone sees.

Good luck. That paint is already dry.]

C O N F U S I O N

SCENARIO THREE: ALL FLIPPY-FLOPPY
[You didn't realize there was anything wrong, not until you saw that person you've always thought was your best friend. They seem the same as ever, it's just - you really don't understand what you saw in them anymore. They're kind of whiny, they're way less cool than you remember, and that hair? Ew.

It's not just that. You ran into your worst enemy earlier, and maybe... you were wrong about them? It really seems like they have some good points, and that annoying expression they always make actually seems kind of cute now. Maybe it's time to kiss and make up, possibly literally!

This is a mini version of our Your Best Enemy event this month.]

I suppose it is best that they never found out that you did it.

[That little glimmer in her eyes. But she isn't a thief. She is a borrower, certainly, but never a thief.]

If one does it. I don't tend to steal things if I can help it. Or at all. I've never stolen anything in my life.

[That last bit, that's definitely a...we'll call it an exaggeration. Airy, lighthearted, and not the least bit committed to maintaining an actual truthful declaration about their spotty past, whatsoever.]

Is it stealing if you return it?

[Glancing upward with her tongue rolling to one side of her mouth happily.]

Borrowing.

[Borrowing sounds much less prone to ruffle feathers, though in Racto's experience - their very completely unlived, fictional, hypothetical experience, that is - the target of the borrowing doesn't tend to bother much with semantics.]

Good answer.

[With a little tail wag as the Dog steers them towards a set of odd looking buildings that function as shops. Just wait until the Dog shows some of the houses... No mistaking them for someone else's house.]

These look like a prime sort of place for borrowing.

[There's not much they need, truthfully, aside from a few basic amenities that come from starting over. Being able to pluck those sorts of things for free from an empty storefront is a hell of a lot easier than what they've come to expect.]

[Her head drops, and she's sniffing around, here and there, in corners and along the floor. One ear flicks towards them, before giving a little snort.]

Take as you need, so people say. No need to borrow, unless I guess you do simply only want to use whatever for a little bit.

[Some of these objects are perfectly ordinary, at least as far as Racto's perception of normal goes. It's a skewed perception, admittedly.]

I haven't even picked myself out a house yet. Imagine that - zero down payments and mortgage.

[Mortgage? It's not a word that the Dog is familiar with, but she assumes that they would know better than she.]

Several different varieties to choose from as well.

Place with a lotta prospective rooms?

[Without even meaning to, they're already doing it - imagining somewhere that could double as a safe haven, a refuge, for anyone that needs to hide away for a minute. Anyone who's living out on the streets, or just...needs someplace to go where they'll get a non-judgmental ear and a low, scratchy voice that doesn't venture any opinions in particular.]

[It's who they are. It's who they always end up being, regardless of intent.]

Some of the houses have multiple bedrooms, if that is what you were looking for.

[Which the Dog supposes could be used for anyone one wanted, if they only needed one room to sleep in.]

Hm. It's best to be prepared.

[Prepared for what??? Unexpected stowaways? Unplanned lodgers? WHO KNOWS. Just know that Racto is, apparently, the type of person to rent an entire-ass house to themself with several empty rooms just on the off-chance that they need to use them as a safe haven for any weird and wayward souls.]

[It's just who they are as a person.]

You can always move. I'm fairly certain you're not bound to live in the same place.

[People come, people go. Not like there are any land titles either, although people might get hostile if you do just move in to where they are residing... But the Dog hasn't met anyone hostile here who would take offence to a mistake.]

But there is nothing bad with trying to be prepared.

I think, if nothing else, this place has cemented that no one person belongs anywhere in particular.

[That's what they get for being dramatically displaced from one world, one planet, one universe - and into another. They've crossed city lines before, but branes? That's a new one.]

Or perhaps it will remind some where they do belong?

[Her own mistress had had doubts, and trials and events had confirmed what the Dog had known about her. That she was where she belonged.]

I'm not sure it matters where someone belongs if the answer is "anywhere but here".

[Being here all but renders it moot, doesn't it? Trending back toward the philosophical again, and Racto doesn't have an answer to that. Their answer to where they belong has always been, essentially: nowhere.]

There may be for some that the answer is here.

[Most aren't like the Dog, who can venture in and out of death. It's a construct for her, as she is a construct herself. So time and place has little meaning, but she knows for others it is different.]

But since there is no gate or trail leading away, I guess we'll all just need to make the rest of things here.

I'm sure, statistically, there would be.

[They've got the partial memories of a mathematician, don't they? Or - no, a statistician. Though Sitharas would claim that statistics doesn't count as math, and fuck. Fuck.]

[They shouldn't be thinking about Sitharas. Not here.]

No way out, hm?

People, or dogs and cats, can leave, but there's no sign pointing the way.

[Atem had just disappeared one day, without a trace, even by her nose. His name had disappeared as well from the little devices.]

They can leave?

[Leave implies that it's intentional, an application of purpose combined with the capacity to act upon it.]

Or they're taken?

[A little shrug of her canine shoulders.]

Gone?

[The Dog hadn't seen any sign of struggle, let alone heard anything.]

[Racto hums quietly, plainly more than a little discomfited with that answer. It's vague enough for all sorts of takeaways to be liable, and vagueness is a tool they prefer to use for their own purposes. It's somewhat less helpful when it's being used against them.]

Do you find this troubling, or are you just accustomed to it?

It is apparently common enough.

[Although the Dog has not known anyone else to have disappeared.]

There are some people who have been here, left, and returned. They would be hte best ones to find about those types of matters.

Left and returned. [That seems to sharpen their interest even further, like a knife to a whetstone, and their steel-gray gaze focuses on the Dog anew with an abrupt intensity.]

[The question does leave a little open to interpretation, and give the Dog an inch and she'll take a mile.]
