Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open January 24th, and apps are open February 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.

Two quick points here as well:
1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: SLURP SLURP
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

What's that on the ceiling? Who's that skittering along the wall? Why, it's none other than the the Licker, from the Resident Evil series.

The licker crawls around on walls and ceilings and can easily avoid all attacks with their creepy crawly acrobatics. Watch out for those tongues, though- they can whip you with them and catch you off balance. They love waiting in dark corners to jump at you and slash you with their oversized claws, as seen here. Luckily, their brains are exposed and they're quite blind- move quietly and avoid their notice, or attack them in their weak spot to get away safely. Be careful though, they tend to travel in packs...]

T R A N Q U I L I T Y

SCENARIO TWO: CABIN IN THE WOODS
[It's nice outside. There's a heat to the air that permeates through the muggy interior of the cabin, but at night, it's cool enough that you can relax and see all the stars in the sky. The hot tub is a nice contrast to the chilly night air and the possibilities are practically limitless!

So cook something up on the grill, go hunting, or just relax and definitely don't get murdered, because you do happen to have a bit of an odd cabin mate. Why are the two of you sharing this cabin? Well, that's up for you to decide, but whether you're close friends who decided to take a vacation together or random strangers stuck together by circumstances, you're here for awhile so you might as well take the time to relax and get to know one another up here in these mountains!]

SCENARIO THREE: MONSTER HOUSE
[It seems like you've just misplaced a few items at first- but after awhile, it becomes apparent that the items are misplacing themselves. Weird, right?

Maybe not that weird, because soon afterward, items of all shames and sizes start to move around, now well within sight. Their intent is clearly to annoy or even harm you, depending on how dangerous the item is... maybe a deathly pair of pants, to a set of keys that keeps running away from you, to a house consumed with the desire to- well, consume you.

Be careful of everything, be suspicious of items that may be trying to lure you in with their stillness, and have fun! This event is based on Hadriel's It's Aliiiive! event this month.]

[To say Sonya had reservations about entering the cabin would've been a fair assessment. The gods here only liked to think they were being hospitable, but there were always hidden strings on way or another.

She was therefor extremely careful when opening the door and stepping inside, taking a quick assessment of things. That the place was only furnished with the basics just calmed her down a little.

The woman only caught her attention when she spoke, and she sighed in response.] I can set traps in the morning, but I'll see if there's anything I can scavenge in the pantry.

[Carefully, she set here gear down and headed to the small room that was the kitchen. If there was one benefit to her time here, it was becoming creative with whatever food stuffs there were on hand.

[Traps were something that she hoped to eventually learn, if only to support herself and live freely as she should have done after that first meeting. But for now, she had to rely on the woman.

The pantry had unfamiliar objects and bags. While they said something about containing food, she hadn't trusted them enough to open or try them. Simply set in front of her, she wasn't about to eat what was given to her. She learned the difficult way not to trust anyone.]

Fresh is better.

[She didn't even know her housemate's name, but Sonya had been this place for ten months. If she had to work with a stranger to survive, that's what she'd do.

She was partially in already when the woman spoke, and she addressed her over her shoulder.] I agree, but for now, it's better than going hungry. We don't know what's out there and waiting for a trap takes time.

[She took a look in the cupboards, finding several cans and bags of rice, powdered eggs and other forms of dehydrated or canned food-the worst parts of her childhood and Basic Training. She inwardly sighed.] I'll get dinner set up. It'll be nutritionally sound, just can't promise much else in way of presentation.

[Much as she tried to avoid canned meat here, they couldn't afford to be picky.]

[She would wait and watch the woman eat the food first, not intending to take the first bite. She knew stories about poison, and after her death at Ivar's hands, she was in no rush to do anything foolish.

That wasn't to say that she distrusted her housemate. It was these gods she didn't trust. Everything so perfectly provided, it didn't sit right in her mind.]

I can cook as well.

[Sonya pulled out a can of powdered eggs and spam, traditionally breakfast food, but if they were going to live like this, she was going to go with something a little more special. Margery warned her about the meat and how it could've been poisoned, but knowing now what she did about the gods here, she knew they wouldn't let them get a free 'death pass' just like that.]

I don't mind. Gives me something to do and besides, you spent all day cleaning. [She thought it was only fair.]

[She eyed what Sonya pulled out with obvious mistrust and confusion. Cans simply did not exist for her and powder was normally flour. Did she meant to make bread?]

I am used to cleaning. It was no great hardship.

[It was for herself anyway, better than being a slave again.]

[She didn't know the woman's story, certainly wish to argue with anyone at the moment. On the other hand, the woman didn't recognize or couldn't read the tins of food, so she probably didn't know how to cook with them either.] You can help if you wish, but most of this is just mixing and heating.

[An idea struck her and she turned to pull out a can of vegetable shortening.] You know how to make biscuits?

[She couldn't see anything resembling yeast, so making quick bread was the only option.
