Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open February 22nd, and apps are open March 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.

Two quick points here as well:
1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: JUST A SNACK
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

Or monsters, as the case may be. It seems like the Door has decided to grace Hadriel with a small invasion of Fallen Angels, from the mobile game Food Fantasy. You might run into a Hamstero or a Forker, a Fanged Snail or a Purple Dumpling. Actually they're mostly... kind of cute.

But still dangerous, so watch your back! These Fallen Angels can really hurt. They go down pretty easy, but there are a lot of them, and they're happy to hit you with claws and teeth and whatever other weapons they have. Sadly, they will not let you hug them.

SCENARIO TWO: SOULMATES
[You look down, and all of a sudden you see something new: a name on your wrist, inscribed as if it's always been there. Maybe you recognize the name, maybe you don't - maybe you're happy to see it, or not at all. But it's there, and you can't wash it off, and you kind of want to know what's up with it.

So why not go looking for whoever the name belongs to? There aren't too many folks in the city, they can't be that hard to find. And when you do find them, prepare for the best new friend/lover/family member you've ever met. You'll get along like a house on fire - until the name on your wrist fades away.

This is a mini version of our Soulmates event this month.]

H O P E

SCENARIO THREE: SCRATCH-OFF
[In your hand there's a ticket. Scratch off the boxes, see if you win - it's a pretty straightforward concept. But the prize is the one thing you want most in the world, and if you can just scratch off the right boxes, maybe you'll get it!

The other prizes are... less enticing. Do you really need a whole turkey, or a new dishwasher, or a lifetime supply of hair removal strips? Maybe you do. But it's that big prize, that golden ticket, that you're hoping for. So scratch away, or find a buddy to help you choose the boxes, or find someone else with a ticket to compare yours to.

Let's just hope you don't run into someone who actually has won the prize... because after all, what's stopping you from just taking it?]

[ventus looks up in surprise when someone addresses him and his eyes widen when he sees aqua there. he stands and for a brief moment he feels his heart lift and bloom with love, seeing her here at least knowing he isn't alone-

but then the reality of her question sets in and that fullness in his chest deflates.]

Aqua, you... don't remember me? [maybe- maybe something happened to her? he was sure after everything they'd finally be able to live peacefully, but it seems he was wrong. the ticket in his hand crumples as his grip tightens. he tries to smile.] Um- well, I'm Ventus. We know each other.

[She's expecting another story that makes zero sense to her, because why should Ven's number of doppelgangers stop at two? Why not three, or four, or five? Her heart was nearly broken twice; if she believes it's him, it's as good as smashing it on the ground herself.

But it breaks anyway at the look on his face. Her eyes go wide and she claps her hands over her mouth, horrified by what she's done.]

Ven?! Is it really you?

[her reaction to him, going from forced indifference to a crushing hope, has him brightening visibly. just that small moment of believing she didn't recognize him, that maybe she never knew him had hurt more than he ever thought possible.]

Aqua!

[he moves before he can stop himself, throwing himself at her in a hug. later, he'd ask her what made her believe it wasn't him to begin with but for now he was simply happy knowing it had been a misunderstanding.] Aqua, I'm so happy to see you!

[She's always known that Ventus is the speediest of their trio, but now he's proved it—because it's only his speed that lets him reach her before she can dash forward to hug him. Her arms go around him automatically, without thinking, tighter than she's ever hugged him. She's not sure she'll be able to let go.]

Ven, I'm so sorry. I didn't know, today has been the strangest...

[Out of nowhere, she feels something on her face—oh. Tears. She doesn't wipe them away.]

I missed you so much.

[he doesn't mind the tightness, welcomes it completely. after everything that's happened no loving touch or embrace could feel like enough to him now.

burying his face in the crook of her neck, he sniffs wetly. it hadn't been too long since he'd last seen her, but every moment apart now felt like an eternity to him.] I missed you too...

[he lifts his head for a moment, cheeks already wet with tears.] If I had known you were here I would have come a lot sooner! [like he had any choice to begin with.]

[She's never wanted to see him cry, but this...Aqua doesn't mind these tears.]

How, Ven? [This world calls many people into it, but they haven't been so grievously harmed as he'd been.] You were asleep. I thought you might never wake up if I didn't get back to you.

Huh?

[he blinks up at her, his earlier confusion coming back to him.] Asleep? I... Aqua, do you not remember? [or worse- his eyes widen,] Wait, did I fall asleep again?!

[he's Never going back to sleep after this.]

Again?

[It's her turn to be surprised. When had he fallen asleep before? He'd spent a lot of time resting after he first arrived at the castle, of course, but it had only been a very late lie-in, as she remembers it. Certainly not the most memorable part of that first day.]

Ven...what's the last thing you remember before you came here?

We... were at the beach on Destiny Island. Everyone was there.

[maybe it wasn't him that suffered a lapse in memory? he studies her with a concerned expression.]

You came back for me. I woke up because of you. [ventus smiles then, soft.] Terra is back too. Everyone is safe now.

[Aqua doesn't even know what to say to that. She opens her mouth...and no words come out. For just a moment or two, she is voiceless.]

Really?

[How foolish of her to think her tears had begun to dry up.]

The door that opens to pull people into this world...they say it can bring people from the same world but different times. [This time she does lift a hand to wipe her tears away.] None of that has happened for me. I've been in the dark realm for ten years.

[it hurts. he knows what happened, he knows the details of everything that happened to aqua during his sleep - but everything he learned had come from aqua herself after the fact. not before. not like this.

it's hard keeping the tears back when she starts to cry again. guilt and regret eat away at him as he can only imagine what she went through, all that uncertainty plaguing her during those long years.]

But we're here now and I'm pretty sure this isn't a dream. [his smile is a little watery, but no less sincere.] I promise I won't leave you again.

[She has to hug him again, once more and tightly, before reluctantly letting him go. She can't hold on forever, even if she'd like to try.]

It's real, Ven. This world is just very, very strange. So many people are drawn here who never heard about other worlds before and didn't use the Lanes Between. I was glad to be out of that place, but... [She falters.] I thought you might be trapped, if I never found a way to leave this world and come wake you up.
