test drive meme # 41
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open February 22nd, and apps are open March 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: JUST A SNACK
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
Or monsters, as the case may be. It seems like the Door has decided to grace Hadriel with a small invasion of Fallen Angels, from the mobile game Food Fantasy. You might run into a Hamstero or a Forker, a Fanged Snail or a Purple Dumpling. Actually they're mostly... kind of cute.
But still dangerous, so watch your back! These Fallen Angels can really hurt. They go down pretty easy, but there are a lot of them, and they're happy to hit you with claws and teeth and whatever other weapons they have. Sadly, they will not let you hug them.

SCENARIO TWO: SOULMATES
[You look down, and all of a sudden you see something new: a name on your wrist, inscribed as if it's always been there. Maybe you recognize the name, maybe you don't - maybe you're happy to see it, or not at all. But it's there, and you can't wash it off, and you kind of want to know what's up with it.
So why not go looking for whoever the name belongs to? There aren't too many folks in the city, they can't be that hard to find. And when you do find them, prepare for the best new friend/lover/family member you've ever met. You'll get along like a house on fire - until the name on your wrist fades away.
This is a mini version of our Soulmates event this month.]

SCENARIO THREE: SCRATCH-OFF
[In your hand there's a ticket. Scratch off the boxes, see if you win - it's a pretty straightforward concept. But the prize is the one thing you want most in the world, and if you can just scratch off the right boxes, maybe you'll get it!
The other prizes are... less enticing. Do you really need a whole turkey, or a new dishwasher, or a lifetime supply of hair removal strips? Maybe you do. But it's that big prize, that golden ticket, that you're hoping for. So scratch away, or find a buddy to help you choose the boxes, or find someone else with a ticket to compare yours to.
Let's just hope you don't run into someone who actually has won the prize... because after all, what's stopping you from just taking it?]

It's uh, well-- not really, uhm. Actually, you might think this is uh, r-really cool, but we're kind of in... another dimension? Like another world, with uh, people from all over! And there's aliens and humans but they're nice humans uh, mostly. There's really only one or t-two not good humans so you don't need to fight any if you see them.
no subject
But she completely believes it, especially coming from Alphys. It definitely makes more sense than her own theory. She grins.]
Whoa! Your theories were right! That is really cool!
[At the mention of not needing to fight humans, she nods. That's good to know. If she's in another dimension, she doesn't need to attack anyone anyway - there's nobody here to bring the souls from dead humans back to. And Frisk definitely wouldn't approve of her fighting humans anyway.] You got it, Alphy. Won't fight a single thing!

And uhm, there's... w-well, there's something else too. I've uhm... so time works a little differently here, and uhm, tell me if this doesn't really make sense and I'll try to explain better, but uhm, it's. I've actually been here a long time. Sometimes other people are here that we know, but uh, a lot of the time it's just been me, and... I haven't s-seen you in. A while.
[Oh jeez, there are the tears again.]
I don't want to scare you, o-or anything, and it's not really good to be here and it's dangerous but I missed you so much--!
[She's absolutely sniffling now, but still holding Undyne's hand.]
I'm sorry if I called you here by mistake, somehow! I didn't mean to be selfish!
no subject
But she knows what to do - she needs to be calm. She needs to be supportive. Even if she doesn't entirely understand, even if all this talk of alternate dimensions and time working differently is a little beyond her, she needs to calm Alphys down. Staying crouched down to Alphys' height, she puts her free hand above Alphys' and gives her a soft, gentle smile.]
Alphy. I don't know how all this works, but... if you called me here... it's because you needed me. And I came to you because... because I'll always, always be there for you. No matter what happens with alternate dimensions or time travel or whatever... if you need me, I'll always come.
And I promise, I'll be safe. And you'll be safe too. This place might be dangerous, but you know me. There's nothing that can hurt me. There's no fight I can't win. So you're not going to hurt me. And you're not selfish, OK? Not for needing help. Not for needing me. Not for anything.
[Undyne bows her head, laughing under her breath.] I'm not real good at all this sappy stuff. But... that's the truth.
no subject
She tries to stop almost as immediately as Undyne crouches down, hastily wiping away tears, but it's just enough to get her to wetly look at the other girl while she speaks. Alphys wants to believe her, she really does, and maybe that will just be enough.
So she nods, even if she doesn't truly believe all of it. She can believe in Undyne. That's enough, right?]
Okay, I-- I know, I just... you're gonna have to know that, because it's, there's just... everything's really different. It's not the same as the Underground, and if you got hurt because of me, I, I'd n-never...
[MMMM it's hug time again, Alphys squeezing her tight around her middle.]
I never want you to be hurt. And I've missed you so much.
no subject
She just wishes she knew how to make Alphys feel safe, feel reassured.]
Even if I did get hurt... and I won't... it wouldn't be your fault. Trust me about that, alright?
[She pats Alphys' back.]
I'm the one who should be sorry - sorry you've been alone in this place. I wish I'd been here for you sooner, Alphy.
no subject
I won't-- y-you won't get hurt. I know. And it's not your fault you weren't here either, it, the Door kind of uhm... it's random. A few people from the Underground have been here, but it's always uhm, always random.
[It's bolder than Alphys feels she's ever been, when she reaches over and takes Undyne's hand on her own. Two years will do a lot to a person, even if she won't see it very well in herself.]
I guess do you, uhm... w-want me to show you around? As much as I can.
no subject
O-of course! I'd love to go with you!
no subject
It feels more like she just tugged like, very hard to hold the entirety of Undyne's forearm into her chest. God, she is trying. She is trying so hard.]
Okay cool great this is gonna be great and, uh, c-cool, yeah!! Yeah okay uhhhh here come with me...
[And she'll bring her with her out to the city, for any more of the time they have.]
