Test Drive Meme # 1
Welcome to Hadriel's very first test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open September 24th, and Apps are open October 1st.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: ANYONE GOT A LIGHT?
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
Watch out as you explore the streets of Hadriel, because you're not alone, and there's always something on the rooftops watching and waiting for the perfect opportunity to separate you from your group and tear you into pieces. In this instance, the door has managed to grab something truly horrific, and it's definitely out for blood (and brains) tonight.
Smokers are enemies in the video game series Left 4 Dead, who use their prehensile tongues to capture unwitting people and either drag them away for consumption or hang them up to strangle them. With all of the activity of characters trying to find out what's going on and where they are, there are more than a few of them, lingering in the shadows and waiting to try strike at anyone who may be lagging behind.]
SCENARIO TWO: YOUR HEART WILL GO ON
[You awaken in a windowless room, the walls strangely curved. The door, when you try it, is quite firmly locked. No amount of force is able to break through, so it seems to be sealed by supernatural means. Next to the door stands a slender pedestal, about as big around as a large man's thigh. At the top of the pedestal is a indentation, as if something were meant to go there.
But you're not alone in this room. There are two things with you: a person and a corpse. Pinned to the body is a note: Place a heart on the pedestal to leave. Tucked neatly into the corpse's pocket is a letter opener, small and not particularly sharp.
Did you have weapons or tools on you before? You don't now. But look at it this way: what better form of bonding is there than helping a friend or stranger dig a heart out of a corpse with nothing but a letter opener and your bare hands?]

SCENARIO THREE: HAVE YOU HAD YOUR BREAK-IN TODAY?
[You're standing outside a storefront, colored glass set into intricate designs. It's beautiful, artistic, but more importantly - there's definitely food inside. Good food, too, by the glimpses you can see through the window. In fact - wait a minute - isn't that your favorite dish in there, just waiting for you? You've been searching for food for hours, it seems, and the city is bare. Your tummy is getting awful rumbly. What luck!
You try the door. Cruelly, it is locked. The food taunts you, just out of reach.
The glass is lovely, intricate, but it's just glass. Or maybe you know how to pick locks. Or maybe there's a back way in. Or maybe some passing friend will be able to help you. There's a lot of options here, if what you really want is a mouthful of the finest... whatever it is you like.]

she is still her namesake, keeping her eyes on adam as he investigates the room. there is something different about this man, whoever he is. the sunglasses he wears, the indention on his upper left forehead — and his hands look mechanical like big boss', only much more refined. Who do you work for, she thinks to herself. no grip around her knife handle, and that's because it's missing.
when he returns, there's a nod of acknowledgement before raising up the piece of paper from the corpse. quiet is no stranger to blood and guts, if the key really is this person's heart. ]
no subject
No one talked him into this current shit though and he's a little irritated about this whole thing. Adam looks to the paper she pulled off the corpse and looks at her as he walks up and takes the note to read it over.]
What kind of B-movie bullshit is this? Is this for real?
[Adam sighs and runs his fingers through his hair before turning to the corpse and crouching down in front of it. He starts searching through pockets looking for some I.D. or anything else useful. That's when he pulls out the letter opener and holds it up for her to see in turn.]
What do you think?
no subject
Give me the knife, she thinks, opening up a palm and waiting for adam to hand over the letter opener. with a gesture of her head, she motions over towards the pedestal. quiet will take out the dead man's heart and get them both out of here, if he'll allow it. ]
no subject
You want to do the honors?
[Adam hands over the letter opener without any reservation, except for the fact that it doesn't look very sharp and there is an easier way.]
Not that I do, but I do have something sharper if you want me to.
[All of his weapons have been stripped off of him but his arm blades? Taking those away would be just a little harder.]
no subject
quiet will make due with the letter opener as her immediate security.
the twirling stops, and the sniper points at him with it as if to say, "Show me." ]
no subject
Nothing happens.
Adam frowns and opens his fingers and looks at his palm, then closes it again, and repeats this a few more times with growing agitation. Well, this is awkward. He glances over at the woman.]
This usually works.
[Adam pushes the sleeve of his trench coat and shirt up to his elbow, exposing the metal arm that matches the hand. He rotates and flexes it a few more times before he makes a frustrated noise in the back of his throat. When he turns to her again he huffs and motions for her to continue with the dull letter opener.]
I guess this couldn't be easy.
no subject
there's curiosity in her face, as if wishing it would work. maybe it will later.
when she bends down, she immediately stabs the body and drags the blade across the dead man's chest. it's not a clean cut, but it's deep and she splits it with that enhanced strength of the parasites. it's not split enough, so she drops the dull opener and splits the flesh with her hands. once the flesh is parted, she smashes through ribs and digs inside, pulling out a human heart just moments later. a delicate operation would be too slow, and quiet assumes jensen would like to leave as quickly as she would.
she looks over towards jensen at first, but moves on to place the heart where it should be: the pedestal. ]
no subject
He feels a little nauseous and is glad for the dark lenses over his eyes as he closes his eyes and takes a slow, steadying breath. Adam opens them again in time to watch her place the heart on the pedestal and he walks slowly towards the door and watches it.
With some relief he sees the door open and his gaze is to the silent woman and he nods.]
Would it be weird if I said "well done?"
