Test Drive Meme # 1
Welcome to Hadriel's very first test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open September 24th, and Apps are open October 1st.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: ANYONE GOT A LIGHT?
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
Watch out as you explore the streets of Hadriel, because you're not alone, and there's always something on the rooftops watching and waiting for the perfect opportunity to separate you from your group and tear you into pieces. In this instance, the door has managed to grab something truly horrific, and it's definitely out for blood (and brains) tonight.
Smokers are enemies in the video game series Left 4 Dead, who use their prehensile tongues to capture unwitting people and either drag them away for consumption or hang them up to strangle them. With all of the activity of characters trying to find out what's going on and where they are, there are more than a few of them, lingering in the shadows and waiting to try strike at anyone who may be lagging behind.]
SCENARIO TWO: YOUR HEART WILL GO ON
[You awaken in a windowless room, the walls strangely curved. The door, when you try it, is quite firmly locked. No amount of force is able to break through, so it seems to be sealed by supernatural means. Next to the door stands a slender pedestal, about as big around as a large man's thigh. At the top of the pedestal is a indentation, as if something were meant to go there.
But you're not alone in this room. There are two things with you: a person and a corpse. Pinned to the body is a note: Place a heart on the pedestal to leave. Tucked neatly into the corpse's pocket is a letter opener, small and not particularly sharp.
Did you have weapons or tools on you before? You don't now. But look at it this way: what better form of bonding is there than helping a friend or stranger dig a heart out of a corpse with nothing but a letter opener and your bare hands?]

SCENARIO THREE: HAVE YOU HAD YOUR BREAK-IN TODAY?
[You're standing outside a storefront, colored glass set into intricate designs. It's beautiful, artistic, but more importantly - there's definitely food inside. Good food, too, by the glimpses you can see through the window. In fact - wait a minute - isn't that your favorite dish in there, just waiting for you? You've been searching for food for hours, it seems, and the city is bare. Your tummy is getting awful rumbly. What luck!
You try the door. Cruelly, it is locked. The food taunts you, just out of reach.
The glass is lovely, intricate, but it's just glass. Or maybe you know how to pick locks. Or maybe there's a back way in. Or maybe some passing friend will be able to help you. There's a lot of options here, if what you really want is a mouthful of the finest... whatever it is you like.]

Ellie | The Last of Us | OTA
[Ellie is used to constantly watching and listening. When you're in a world where infected could come out kill you at any second, it becomes sort of second nature. She can handle any of that, she's decided. The only real problem for now is Joel. She doesn't know what happened or how she got here, but she knows she has to find him. If she's here, he's gotta be too.
Soon though that becomes second in her list of problems. Rounding a corner, she hears something. Something that definitely sounds like the shrieking of infected. What she expects is a runner or stalker. What's slowly galloping toward her is something worse.
She breathes out slowly, eyes widening in surprise.]
Holy shit.
[That... is either one messed up clicker that doesn't click or a type of infected Ellie has honestly never seen before. She doesn't have the time to ponder over it. Pointing out her pistol, she begins shooting at the creature several times.
Which would be fine, except one or two more are coming up from behind. Help a girl out?]
(scenario two)
[The first thing Ellie does after she's woken up and got her bearings is check if the bodies lying nearby are dead or not. One is dead (and has on it some note she doesn't let herself read yet), and the other one isn't - but whoever isn't dead is unconscious for now and doesn't have any obvious bite or scratch marks. She's not exactly thrilled to be in here with a total stranger, conscious or not, especially after realising she's without even her switch-blade. She has to get out of here.
Next on the agenda is checking the door.]
C'mon, c'mon! [Her pulling, pushing and shoving isn't helping anything though.] Fuck! Not getting out this way.
[She glances as the forms on the ground again. Maybe they have a key, or... something to help. She checks the dead body first, finally reading the note. Twice. Here she stops, glancing at the pedestal. No fucking way. Not giving up yet, Ellie checks the pockets, eventually coming across the envelope opener.
She looks down at the note, then at the body it came from.]
You gotta be kidding me.
no subject
Having a litter girl standing over another person near him is not familiar, however. He struggles up, leans against the wall, gives a brief moan for his headache, before sliding down a wall and sinking his head into his knees. He seems to be running his hands through his hair, trying to comfort himself.
Finally he looks up, pale, eyes sort of distant seeming. ] Who...are you?
[ The fact that most people's first question is 'where am I?' was sort of lost on him. It didn't seem as important. Given what was back home, anywhere seemed like a decent idea. He could figure out how to get back to his family soon enough, if he could convince himself it wasn't better for them if he was gone. They had the military watching over the neighborhood now. It wasn't like they needed him. He'd just weigh them down.
Nick would do anything not to be a burden. ]
no subject
Right. [A sigh.] I'm guessing you don't know anything about all this either?
[Yes, she's deliberately avoiding that question he asked. She wishes she'd checked him for weapons before she had the body. Stupid, Ellie. It's not that she really thinks he has anything to do with this, but she's had bad experiences with strangers in the past. Strangers have locked her up just like this.
After a second or two she walks over to him and from a distance hands out the note for him to read.]

Also, he wasn't sure he trusted all those jarheads that showed up and started popping their neighbors and marking X's on houses. He couldn't stay here, wherever it was and however he got here. If the girl wasn't going to get sick and try to kill him, maybe she could come stay with them too. There should be enough food with all those Humvees blocking their cul-de-sac. ]
I don't know anything. [ He squints and cranes his neck forward to read the note. ]
Oh. Uh... I hope that's a metaphor.
no subject
She glances back over at Nick for a moment. He doesn't look that much older than her, really, now that she's looking more closely. And right now, about as much of a prisoner as she is. Sighing, Ellie shows him the envelope opener.]
I found this on him. [She nods at the body lying on the floor.] You... got anything sharper on you?
scenario 1
However, she does know one thing. She knows the sound of gunfire. Bisca and Alzac use those. Perhaps others from the Guild are here. Only when she comes running, it's neither of the gun mages. It's a girl, shooting a creature. But there are two more behind her.
Levy doesn't even hesitate as she runs around the corner towards the girl. Her fingers trace a path into the air.]
Solid Script. Fire.
[And fire in the shape of the word fire appears, and she directs towards the creatures behind the girl]
Quick. This way!
no subject
Ellie backs away slightly, before quickly moving to the stranger's side and firing at the two creatures in front of them. With the combination of fire and gunshots they're very soon on the ground.
Once they're down, she looks at the woman beside her, frowning with confused incredulity.]
Wha - What the fuck was that? [She's actually referring to that fire that appeared from nowhere, not the monstrous creatures now dead in front of them.]
