Test Drive Meme #8
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open April 24th, and apps are open May 1st.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: DEAD FLESH BUFFET
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
Watch out as you explore the streets of Hadriel, because you're not alone, and there's always something lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect chance to swarm around you and chow down. This time, the Door has brought in a group of rotfiends, from the video game The Witcher.
These unpleasant-looking creatures are necrophages, meaning they feed on the flesh of the dead, and if that flesh is in short supply they are happy to add to it. Normally found in groups, they are fast and difficult to corner. What's more, when on the verge of death, they have an annoying tendency to explode into a flammable cloud of poisonous toxins. You left your torch at home, right?]

SCENARIO TWO: MMM WHATCHA SAY
[There you were, just walking along the street, minding your own business like a good underground hell-city citizen, when all of a sudden you saw someone. It was like love at first sight - if by 'love' you mean 'deep burning hatred'. You've never wanted to kill someone so much, and why? Well, you're not really sure, but there's probably a reason! You'll just have to figure it out. Or not. Who needs a reason for murder, anyway?
Or maybe you're the one someone else has targeted. Maybe you know they're after you and you're desperately trying to watch your back. Why do they hate you? You don't even know them. Or maybe you do, maybe they're your best friend. Either way, this is a super awkward situation, and someone might end up dead. Hopefully not you!
This is a mini version of our Assassin event this month!]

SCENARIO THREE: SCRATCH OFF
[This morning, you received a scratch ticket in the mail (who knew Hadriel even had mail?), addressed to you. The instructions are clear enough - scratch off three matching icons, and you win a prize! Sure, okay. But here's the grand prize: a one-way ticket home.
Unfortunately, try as you might, you aren't gonna win that one, but keep hoping! And hey, just think of all the other GREAT PRIZES you could win: an inflatable duck, a plastic ring to give your sweetheart, an empty can of Red Bull, a cell phone charm shaped like a strange green creature with a boner.
So what if you didn't win that ticket home? You got something almost as good: a shitty prize! Thanks, Hope!]

Ai Ebihara | Persona 4
[ Ai never considered herself as one that would cower. At least not anymore, she made herself a promise to face life head on. Of course when she made that promise to herself, her family had just moved to a new town. To her mind this didn't so much count as a move as a kidnapping.
Especially when the new town is creepy and there's a constant rustling as she walks down the street. That really isn't making Ai particularly welcome and her skin is prickled with goosebumps as her pace quickens.
She'd really like to come across a person right about now. Before what's stalking her decides to close in. ]
Rage
[ It's a feelings she remembers a little too well. The burning anger in her belly demanding release and retribution for the cause. The only problem is Ai can't figure out what set her off.
All she sees is an endless stream of people passing her by and each makes her anger worse.
Of course with her focus drawn to her own need to soothe her anger, Ai is unaware that there might be another nearby looking to hurt her as much as she wishes to hurt the one she's looking for. Best to approach with care, she might be unarmed now, but she could put up a decent fight in the state she's in. ]
Hope
[ Ai reads the instructions one more time, it seems easy enough. There's no doubt in her mind that she'll win that ticket home. There isn't a challenge in her lifetime she hasn't met that she didn't eventually succeed at.
You can bet she'll keep trying until she gets what she wants. And she has a fairly impressive pile of obscene frog charms for her efforts. ]
Let's try again.
[ She tosses yet another charm into the pile. Could they maybe let her win something else? ]
Fear
Unfortunately, not everyone has the same idea.
Miriam peers out from the broken window, Barnaby close at her side. His ruff is up, a straight line all the way down his back, so there's something bad close by. And there's a lady in the street who looks like she doesn't have a weapon.]
Hey! Hey, lady, you should get inside before something eats you!
no subject
But she has zero physical ability when it comes to fighting. Chances are if she made a fist to punch someone she'd hurt herself in the process. She's good at struggling and running away that's about where her talents in a fight run out.
At the shout Ai turns looking for the source of the advice and eventually settles on the girl with her dog nearby. Mouth pressing into a thin line. ]
What do you mean eats me?

no subject
[ Okay she's just going to move her way and hope she can find a safe spot to hide in that case. ]
Uh, can you give me a few pointers?
no subject
no subject
I'll see what I can do about those two things.
[ Her eyebrows furrow. ]
How are we safer near the buildings?
no subject
no subject
[ She likes the sound of that, she isn't very good at drawn out self-defense. ]
no subject
[The dog offers up a paw.]
no subject
[ Look at the dog being cute. She's positively charmed and gives the offered paw a quick shake. ]
Ai, nice to meet both of you.

Fear
[ And then... there was a hand on her shoulder...! ]
Ebi...?
[ ...and it's totally just Yu. ]
no subject
And when that hand touches her shoulder she jumps with a scream. ]
Yu you jerk don't do that!
[ She presses her palm to her chest, her heart slamming against her ribs. Think next time Yu, she doesn't need her heart up that high outside of gym class. ]
no subject
S-sorry...
no subject
You should be. This place is creepy enough without you sneaking up behind me.
no subject
[ ...man, it was like they were not dating all over again. Everything he was saying was already starting with "Sorry". ]
no subject
[ Give her a minute to calm down and she'll realize what she's doing. She doesn't mean to be treating him like she had when they were fake dating. As it is she's going to feel terrible when she realizes she went girlfriendzilla mode again. ]
no subject
Sorry, I didn't think. I'll stick with you.
[ Because nothing says, "Oh by the way I have special powers," like walking with a normal school friend in the middle of a death town. ]
no subject
Clearly...
[ She pouts but it seems the worst of her temper has calmed. It seems like a fair way to make up for scaring her. ]
Thank you. I think I miss the fog.
no subject
This is definitely worse than the fog.
[ Yu paused, looking her over. ]
Are you okay? Have you run into anything?
no subject
Yeah it is.
[ She stares at him blankly a moment. ]
I've been better. I was running from a thing that was rotting earlier. Please say that isn't the norm around here.
no subject
[ He couldn't help but look guilty at that. ]
I've only been here a month, and when I arrived, there were chests that tried to eat people. So... maybe?
