Have you ever just wanted to tell someone flat-out what you think of them as a person? Does your roommate have this one quirk that drives you up the wall, like dripping apathy all over the kitchen sink? Sometimes all it takes to be the best person you can be is a dose of self-awareness, sometimes what it takes instead is a cluebat to the head... and sometimes they just have a stupid name you can never quite spell right.

For all this and more, have I got the meme for you!

THE LOWDOWN
i. Post a header with your character's name.
ii. Comment in-character to other people's headers. With what? Depends on your CR! Maybe they're a good person and really should keep on keeping on, maybe literally everyone can see they need to suck it up and confess already, maybe they'll change their wicked ways if just one extra person casts aspersions on their pompadour. Bring in examples if you want, as with any helpful critique. Be as creative as you like!
iii. Other characters will comment to yours, no doubt overflowing with well-meaning advice on how to be the best person they can be. Your character is free to respond. Excuse you, maybe despair is still in fashion??
iv. A probably unnecessary reminder, but just remember, this is not a place for OOC crit! There are other, more appropriate channels for that.

[And for once, she's going to ignore the fact that Maketh has called her a child. It's just funny to see how easy it is to push Maketh's buttons.]

[To avoid going completely quiet at that, Emily scowls. It's still a second or two before she responds.] He does. He'd tell you that himself if he were here.

[Her lie of a confession notwithstanding. Matt will understand. Matt always listens to her.

Maybe, if Emily ever does let Maketh in, Maketh will get an answer to that question.]

[Maketh nods slowly. She hadn't intended that to -- hurt, not really.] Maybe you'll see him here. I have a theory that certain worlds are -- more interesting, than others, to the gods. It might explain why you and your friends were pulled her almost as a group.

[Shrugging, Emily looks away.] He's the only one of us who hasn't been here yet. Chris says he's due to drop in.

[She pauses, shrugging again.] I'm not so sure. He doesn't deserve to get pulled in here.

Maybe not. But it would be a comfort, wouldn't it?

[unfollowing]

[It's not a question she needs to think on, but Emily still doesn't answer right away.]

For me, yeah.

[Now she looks at Maketh, gaze neutral.]

I don't care if that makes me a selfish bitch.

[Maketh shrugs. It's not her place to judge.] It's good to have people. I'd forgotten that for a while.

[unfollowing]

[She's surprised that Maketh doesn't start citing some rule or another at her for that, but she only shows it in that she frowns slightly, briefly.]

Yeah. [And it's good to treat them like human beings, too.] You're here alone, right? Like, with no one from your world?

None yet. It's probably for the best.

[unfollowing]

So when you say you have people, you mean people you met here.

[It's a question, though she asks it flatly. Emily would hate being here without her friends, even though she uses the term loosely.]

Yes. [Maketh nods just once.] I think I died, on Lothal. Maybe not. It's hard to tell. But I would not be greeted well, if I returned there.

[unfollowing]

Shit, Maketh.

[What the fuck do you even say to that.

Seriously.]

It was my own doing. [She shrugs.] And it doesn't matter here. Sufficient to say the Empire does not suffer failure lightly.

[unfollowing]

What do you mean, 'your own doing.'

You didn't-- you know. Did you?

I...no. Not like that. I failed to do my duty, as had my men, and it was decided that I ought to die as they did.

[She grimaces.]

I tried to outmaneuver it, of course. It didn't take.

[unfollowing]

Holy shit. [Said flatly, quietly.] I'm... sorry, I guess. Sounds like they were shitty bosses if their first thought was to kill you.

[Emily just can't imagine Maketh failing to such a degree that she'd merit beinf killed for it. She seems to share Emily's own fear of failure, and that means Maketh must always strive to be perfect, even absent the threat of death as punishment.

Though that does explain why Maketh was so freaked out about not behaving the way that's 'right' or whatever.]

They followed protocol. [In a way it was expected. Failure must be punished, or it will be repeated. Maketh shakes her head.] Hah. I still talk like them, don't I? It's hard to shake.

[unfollowing]

Tch. I told you, none of that shit matters here. [She rolls her eyes when she says it, but there's a little smirk on her face that makes it clear she's not trying to insult Maketh.] Well... it's good that you're still alive. Even if it's here.

[That's.....as close as Emily is going to get to giving Maketh an actual compliment. Treasure this rarity.]

[Maketh quips a smile.] I suppose I'll take that as a compliment.

[unfollowing]

[Emily shrugs, twisting her lips into something like a grimace so she won't outright smile. How dare you, Maketh. How dare you disarm Emily so.]
