Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open August 25th, and apps are open September 1st.

Two quick points here as well:
1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: O SHIT WADDUP
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

Watch out as you explore the streets of Hadriel, because you're not alone, and there's always something lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect chance to hop right on you and chow down. This time, the Door has brought in several Doomed, from the Final Fantasy XI video game.

These strange undead creatures look somewhat froglike in appearance, but rumor has it they're actually made from a bunch of gross dead bodies all stuck together. Their whiplike tongue can hurt pretty bad, and if that wasn't enough, they can emit gasses that make it hard to concentrate, fight, and even stand upright. Have fun!]

SCENARIO TWO: PARANOIA
[Out of nowhere, you received a message on your phone. It's most likely from an unknown number - but not necessarily. It could be from someone you know, a number you recognize. A friend, an enemy, a trusted ally. But it's not who the message is from that matters, it's what it says.

Listen to me. They've been lying to you this whole time, and now they're coming for you. That, and nothing else.

So what will you do? Laugh and ignore this clearly missent text? Text back, try to get more details? Freak out? Or maybe you already know what it's talking about - who it's talking about. Maybe it's talking about that person who just walked by you. Didn't they look at you for a little too long? Doesn't it look like they might have a weapon?

You've got to protect yourself in whatever way you can. Who knows what they're plotting.]

C O M B I N A T I O N

SCENARIO THREE: LOUD VALLEY
[There you were, walking down one of Hadriel's rubble-strewn streets, when out of nowhere a cheery tune played. And then... everything changed.

Now there are rainbows along the cave ceiling, candy in the shops, walls painted in bright colors. Everything is cheery and happy and designed to lighten your heart. And if you walk around, you may just find your very own animal companion waiting to frolic and play with you! Sure, it'll all change back to normal Hadriel before long, but right now you might as well enjoy it.

This is a mini version of our Loud Valley event this month!]

( okay, he's laughing too much to try and kiss you anyway, don't worry. he'll even unwrap his arms from around Em's waist and tsk at the dog until he stays. ) Heel, Ray.

( for now- ) Let's head home. ( he's not as bothered by germs as Em is, but the smell of dog drool is lingering on his cheeks and. Ugh. )

[Oh thank god because she was seriously concerned for her safety there for a second. That is one enormous dog, and she doesn't need to be toppled down by it.

But Emily visibly relaxes when it obeys Matt and when he suggests they head back to the house.]

Oh thank god. You need a shower. [She looks down at her clothes, wrinkling her nose when she spots dog hair.] And so do I. [Not a moment later, she meets Matt's gaze again, giving a coy smile.] We should shower together, to save time.

( ayyy, he can get with that, if the pleased smile and wriggling brows are any indication. wrapping an arm around her waist, Matt tugs her forward, in the direction of UD house, his - their, let's be real - dog happily following, keeping at bay like ordered but occasionally giving a happy pant or bark. )

I think we deserve an extra long shower. ( never mind saving time, there's plenty of that to go around here. )

[At this point, she doesn't even mind the smell and the dog hair as he pulls her close. She's covered in it anyway from his hug earlier, so really, no sense protesting more. What does it matter. Matt is here, and even if there's a cute but slobbery dog following them, it's worth it. Matt's here. Matt's alive.

It's everything she could've wished for.]

Mmhm. [She bumps his hip with hers as she walks, in place of putting her cheek on his smelly jacket.] There's two bathrooms in the house, no one will mind.

( isn't that just convenient as hell? Matt is happy to walk with her, to feel her hip against his in that playful way that she doesn't show nearly enough. that smile she does in private and god he's luckier than he realised when they first started dating.

(at points, on the mountain, he wondered if it was a mistake. when he saw her hugging mike, when she continued to bitch and bitch at him.

whatever bullshit this place pulls, it has, at least, taught him that his instinct regarding her was correct. there was something underneath the layers of ice, a depth that he wanted to get to.

not just in the way that involved long showers, either.) ) Who cares if they do, babe? ( there's laughter in his voice. ) We won't hear them.

Wow, Matt. [She sounds impressed, not affronted.] Feeling really generous, are you.

[She's not blushing. Okay fine she is maybe a teeny bit. When Matt flirts, it's sweet, even when he tries to be sexy (especially then). Unlike her, he didn't hide who he was, how cute he could be. To be that open takes a kind of courage and strength Emily doesn't have.

That's why she can start to be softer around him. Because he won't hurt her, not on purpose. God, how could she have been such a bitch to him before? He didn't deserve that. She's lucky he still cares.

She's so not letting him go.]

( how can he not when Em's his girlfriend, like, have you seen yourself, girl? damn. he just laughs, a good natured chuckle that says hell yes I'm generous and squeezes her hip lightly with his hand.

and maybe some people would accuse him of being too soft, of giving Em one too many chances or something else. lord knows he certainly thought it at times, but some people need those chances, don't they?

he's going to keep his arm around her waist all the way home, okay? sure there's easier ways to walk but it's not nearly as fun. )
