Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open September 24th, and apps are open October 1st.

Two quick points here as well:
1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: DON'T LOOK AT ME
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

Watch out as you explore the streets of Hadriel, because you're not alone, and there's always something lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect chance to hop right on you and chow down. This time, the Door has brought in several Boos, from the Mario video game series.

These monsters can be menacing, but are also incredibly shy. When looking directly at them, they will cover their faces and fade into the background- however, when turning away from them, they advance on you until they're in the perfect spot to take a nice big bite. The only way to defeat them is to escape this part of the level- that is, run madly away and try to keep up eye contact while you do so. They may look cartoonish, but those ghost teeth can be sharp!]

SCENARIO TWO: YOU'VE GOT RED ON YOU
[Hadriel is home to many things- temples, irate gods, angry citizens and... well, zombies, apparently. Beware as they start to walk/stagger/generally kind of shuffle around the streets of the city, since where there's one or two, there's usually a hundred more just waiting for the right moment to strike.

Zombies attack Hadriel by the dozen for this prompt, and nowhere in the city is technically safe from them! While they're not necessarily fast or intelligent, they have an advantage on you in that they have a lot more friends and they can't feel pain. So saddle up, bunker down, and try to survive the infestation!

This is a mini version of our Dead Men Walking event this month!]

SCENARIO THREE: CAPTURE THE FLAG
[Hey, what's Hadriel without a few mind-numbingly stupid games to forget the fact that you're in a murdercave that routinely tries to scare the crap out of you while also maybe killing you every once in awhile? You're not quite sure who came up with this particular mind-numbingly stupid game, but you seem to be playing, so get your running shoes on and grab that inhaler!

This is a game of Capture the Flag, and thanks to Rage, you're really starting to feel that competitive spirit. You're going to win- you have to. So what if you incur a few fouls along the way?

There's a red team and a blue team for this prompt, with both teams trying to protect their corresponding flags. Try to strategize to take the other team's precious flag, chase someone from the opposing team down, or just go all out and full body tackle that poor guy who got a little too close to your territory- it's all on you!]

[ Not so different from a force lance, in a sense, though there was something more horrifying with how the walking corpses reacted. Which is why Trance doesn't even react to how the staff was being used, but watched the target. Waited to see if it got up. After a pregnant pause, she eased up and started to smile, head cocking to the side a little as a shoulder dropped. ]

I don't suppose you have unlimited charges on that?

[ Because she doesn't have a ranged weapon. Just a furred water canteen and a few indents towards the end of her tail. ]

It's magic. [She shrugs.] I've never had it run out.

[She looked out at the horde, then shook her head.] If we don't find a better way of doing this, then we're going be here for awhile.

[She turned towards her companion.] Who are you?

Not unless you can hit more than one at a time...

[ But with Astronema wanting to know who she was, the purple woman smiled brightly, holding her hand out for the most enthusiastic handshake one could offer. ]

Trance Gemini! Nice to meet you.

[ How often does she get to hear that? ]

[Astronema considered ignoring the offered hand for a moment, then decided against. She reached out and took Trance's hand firmly, giving it one firm pump before letting go.]

I'm Astronema. [She wondered if Trance will recognize the name, but considered it unlikely, since she doesn't recognize what species Trance is. They must be beyond Dark Spectre's control ... for now.]

I can either hit more than one or I can hit one accurately.

[ With Trance having been ready for more than that, it turned out to be one enthusiastic pump before she glanced down at the broken shake. Well, she knew pricklier people. It won't dampen her mood. ]

Astronema's a pretty name. My friend has a similar one, though I'm guessing people don't call you Ronnie.

[ She'll give a short hum in thought, looking back down and over the edge to the horde. ]

Then we either need more people to show up, or to draw them away. Which could send them into another group of people.

Or I go out and find backup.

No, everyone calls me Astronema.

[Except for the Red Ranger, of course, who called her Karone ... but she didn't want to think about that right now. Instead, she thought about their options. She didn't particularly like any of them.]

Do you have any ... abilities that might help? [If it was particularly helpful, than perhaps she would have to alert Dark Spectre of another world in need on conquering]

[ Note taken. At least for now, she'll stick with Astronema. When the question of abilities came up, Trance averted her gaze when shrugging a shoulder. ]

Not really. I mean, I'm pretty good at finding things.

[ She looked back to Astronema, giving a helpless smile. ]

Sorry. I'm not really a fighter.

[Astronema stares at Trance for a moment, trying to decide if she is lying. It's possible but if that's true, there's not much she can do about it now anyway.]

Exactly what things are you able to find?

Well you know, all sorts of things. Big, small. It's what I used to do for a while. That's why I offered to go find backup.

[ Despite the fact that they were here because of all the zombies in the first place. But apparently backup counted as one of those things. So Trance has already proved to be rather oblique with her definitions. ]

[Astronema considered that for a moment.]

Why don't you find a weapon instead?

Well... Some things are going to be a lot easier to find than others. Especially when some weapons would be better for our situation, and most nearby wouldn't be.

[ Never mind how she already knows that, despite not sounding the most sure about it. ]
