Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open November 24th, and apps are open December 1st. Please remember that starting in December, there is an app cap of 20 apps.

Two quick points here as well:

1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: HOW SAUCY
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

Watch out as you explore the streets of Hadriel, because you're not alone, and there's always something lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect chance to destroy you for your vegetarian ways. This time, the Door has brought in a large group of Killer Tomatoes, from the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes movie.

While it is not immediately clear how these odd creatures can kill you, rest assured that you should be quaking in your boots. They can bite with their weird little tomato mouths, they can roll after you surprisingly fast, and they can even explode! Truly terrifying. But if you manage to defeat some of these agents of terror and chaos, you could make some mean salsa.]

SCENARIO TWO: VACATION IN THEDAS
[While you're exploring the city, perhaps you'll run into another creature that's slipped through a rift and is exploring along with you - or perhaps hunting would be a better term. Yes, Hadriel is teeming with demons straight from Thedas.

Perhaps you'll run into a desire demon, who will offer you your deepest wish - in exchange for your body and soul, of course. Perhaps you'll find a pride demon, who will play upon your strengths and weaknesses until you give in to them. Or maybe it'll be a despair demon, there to crush all your hopes and dreams.

Or maybe, if you're very lucky, you'll just find a nug.

This is a mini version of our Fadeout event this month!]

C O N F U S I O N

SCENARIO THREE: SWEDISH MANUFACTURING
[You're in luck! You know that thing you've always wanted? Doesn't matter what it is - a cool weapon, a nice dress, a well-made bedstand, a rare magical invention. Whatever it is, you just managed to find it! Whoa!

Or, well, you managed to find a box with a picture of the item on it. When you open the box, you find all the necessary components for making that item, along with illustrated instructions for putting it together. There's no written instructions, just pictures, but you're smart, you can figure it out! And it'll look just like the photo on the box. You're sure of it.

Better get building! Okay, the instructions don't entirely make sense - did you screw that part in upside down? Wait, are these pages out of order? Maybe you can ask that person nearby for help, or maybe you'll just sink into the depths of confusion and despair. But keep trying! Just think of what you'll get if you succeed!]

[Despite their posturing and general lack of proper clothing, these monsters die just like the rest. And apparently have a sense of self-preservation. The demon, apparently having decided one armor piercing round to the face was more than enough, flees with a screech.

Maketh lowers her rifle.]

Don't talk to them. They lie.

[Well that's new. Kind of Romero-ish, except Romeros are too dumb to run away when faced with certain death.]

Yeah. [Despite Maketh's collected demeanor -- or maybe because of it -- Liv is still breathing heavily and gathering her wits.] I guess so. It did make a lot of sense, though.

[Almost too much sense.]

[mismanagement]

[Maketh frowns at her. The woman has an odd look about her. Perhaps she's not entirely human.] You would have regretted it. It would have made you hurt people.

[livandletdie]

[Her breathing slower now, Liv stands.] Probably. Nothing's ever that easy.

[If it were, then... well, everything since the boat party could've been avoided. She'd still be talking to Evan and their mom. She and Drake--

She and Drake would never have met, because she'd still be with Major. Would that be better lr worse? Both possibilities twist up her gut. No use thinking about it now, with the woman who saved her life. But later, maybe with a glass of wine, it's pity party central.]

[Maketh shoulders the rifle, rubbing her face.] Are you injured?

[livandletdie]

No. [It was just a simple fall. It takes way more than that to hurt Liv.] Should I be armed? I feel like I should be armed. In case one of those things tries to talk me into, you know, anything at all again.

[Maybe a bat. It's been a while since she had soldier, but she can totally swing a bat at something.]

[mismanagement]

It would help. [Maketh isn't going to give any of her weapons up, though.] What is your name?

[livandletdie]

[You know what else would help, soldier lady? If you gave me a weapon, or at least told me where I can get one for free.

But no, that's not how you treat people who have just saved your life.]

Liv Moore. Yours? [And because Liv would like not to die here--] Is there anywhere I can get a gun? A crowbar?

[mismanagement]

Maketh Tua. [She inclines her head towards the armory.] There's a supply of weapons in a building that way. You can't miss it. I would suggest staying within the city limits, however, We've secured a better perimeter.

[livandletdie]

[Liv looks in the direction of the armory, nodding. That sounds promising.]

Got it. I don't actually want to die any time soon. [Demon be damned.] I can fight in a pinch, but I'd really rather not.

[Being that she has questionable access to brains here. Thanks, Hope?]

[mismanagement]

[Maketh's face softens a touch. People shouldn't need to fight.] Good woman. I can escort you there, if you'd like.

[livandletdie]

Being that therr are still demons around and I'm appsarently an easy target, yeah, that'd be great. [She relaxes a little, giving Maketh a slight smile.] Are you from Earth? It's hard to tell, here.

[mismanagement]

This way. [Maketh blinks in surprise.] Earth? No. Though you'll find many here who are.

[livandletdie]

That's why I asked. [Rather than assume. Ass-u-me and all of that.] I've met a lot of people from outer space.

[Ravi would be pretty excited about that. Aliens. Sci fi style wars.

He's going to be mad it wasn't him here, when she gets back and tells him what she saw.]

Never a dull moment in the creepy underground city.

[Maketh shakes her head.]

No, I'm afraid there is not. Does your world have space travel yet?

[livandletdie]

Some space travel. We've sent people up to the moon for a visit and we've shot satellites to the edge of the solar system, but no, we probably don't have the type of space travel you're referring to. [Liv shrugs.] It's pretty boring. Before I got here, Mars rovers were the hot thing in the scientific community.

[Astronomers, astro-everything-ists. Not Liv's field, not her vocabulary.]

[mismanagement]

Oh, I see. [There's no reason to be disappointed, really. Maketh has no interested in space travel as a conversation topic and Henry, perhaps her closest friend, comes from a time where they haven't yet discovered electricity.] It doesn't matter, I suppose. Most everyone here comes from a different--world. Many of them strangely from this "Earth" place, though.

[livandletdie]

Yeah, I've met people with superpowers who are from Earth. [Don't think Liv didn't notice the way you said 'Earth' just now, Maketh] The only "superheroes" we have where I'm from are vigilantes in tights who use social media to "help" the police fight crime.

[...what the hell kind of superhero names themself Hashtag.]

Is there no such thing as Earth where you're from?

[mismanagement]

[Maketh frowns.] Not that I am aware of. But the universe is large and there are many planets unaccounted for. What is social media?

[livandletdie]

[Wait. How does this lady come from a world of space travel and no Earth and not know what social media is. (Forgive her, Liv's not much of a nerd. That's her boss's thing.)]

It's-- like the network here. Only everyone has their own profiles and talks about politics and pseudo-science like they're experts. [She rolls her eyes. Nah she's not salty.]

[mismanagement]

[That seems like an oddly specific thing to do. Maketh just shakes her head.] I see. I suppose some planets have things like that in my world. I wouldn't know.

[Military channels are thoroughly encrypted and hardly used for social matters.]

[The world of social media is deep, dark, and often terrifying. Not for the faint of heart.]

Hadriel's is actually pretty tame, all things considered. Before I got here, it seemed like there was a social media website for every interest and hobby out there.

[She should've browsed some martial arts forums while she still had Sammy's brain in her system. Maybe she would've retained more than just a few forms. Oh well. It's not like it takes training to swing a crowbar.]

How did people have fun in your world?

They drank. Or caused explosions.

[On Lothal, anyway. There's not a lot one can do in a desert under military occupation.]

Well, that's two ways to do it.

[Two ways that are honestly a little destructive but ultimately not unfamiliar to someone who spent several eyars in a sorority house and knew a lot of frat boys of both the studious and raucous varieties.]

Usually the adventures had by people getting drunk or causing explosions get put on social media as a way of saying, hey, my life is so much more exciting than yours, aren't you jealous!

[Maketh blinks.]

Oh. I see. Usually one found themselves arrested or...well. Causing explosions was frowned upon. Not that it stopped anyone.
